  1. I say again, how can you 'overheat' Lucas pads on the street when others find them fine for track work, in my case braking full on from 200kph? Problem is, what you say just does not make sense.
  2. Put up or shut up Porsche, no substantiation at all yet, methinks they are concerned that their cars may seem just a bit over priced for what they can actually do. Compared with a cheap, fat, ugly Datto
  3. Quite extraordinary, obviously Porsche are worried and trying to justify their way overpriced fried egg. Seriously though, Nissan should sue them claiming damages, arrogant krauts need to be taught a lesson.
  4. More info at the club website here http://www.zcarclubq.org.au/ Remember this is for all Nissan/Datsun cars, the exclusive Zeds only nationals are long gone.
  5. Yeh right Supercars have done nothing for motorsport in Q in fact street events like Indy at the Gold Coast drain money away from permanent circuits. And how can one event in the year support a permanent circuit anyway? QR's overwhelming business income is from grassroots motorsport activities, the reopening of Lakeside is a prime example of grassroots driven infrastructure.
  6. Its not rocket science, there are road pads and there are race pads. Road pads work at any temperature and are usually quiet, race pads need heat input to work properly and often make noise doing so. Pads like Lucas and Ultimates are road pads that in a suitable situation can be used in competition and are usually kind to rotors. It is that simple, if road pads don't work for you then go for race pads. Want me to say it again?
  7. For a different assessment, I've used Lucas pads at two sprints now at Queensland Raceway, car is a 350whp hybrid fairly heavy Datsun 280ZX. In a competition situation the brakes are applied three times medium, once light, in 65 seconds from speeds up to 200kph. Brakes have got hot enough to colour the rotors grey but the pads show no sign of deterioration at all. So to say they are rubbish is just that, rubbish. If you are using your brakes hard enough on public roads to destroy brake pads then that says it all doesn't it
  8. In car video clearly shows Lois cutting the corner when he could have slotted back in behind Kimi. By that action Lois gained an advantage right there, its not necessary or relevant to continue with what happened later, Lois cheated and now the Pommy desperates want to get away with cheating. Guess its the only way they can 'win', by cheating, pathetic.
  9. How much are these HC+ pads? And they really are kind to rotors?
  10. LOL at M3qtr ranting hamilton fanboi
  11. Agreed, the attempted pass showed poor judgment, live with it Hamilton
  12. For street tyres I think most people understand them to be genuine street legal and suitable for everyday use, compared with R comps/semi slicks which are really competition tyres which do not suit everyday use. The dividing line between the two may be thin but its there.
  13. For road use in Q I think it goes on tread depth, not the type of tread, how wide it is, etc. Deeper than a match head used to be a rough guide. Those V710's are supposed to be an excellent tyre.
  14. First serious world competition win for the R35? On factory tyres too. And another Datto, Moir's 240Z second in Competition Classic.
  15. If you don't mind me saying that is a funny attitude, for what is involved, tyres are #1 as if you need me to tell you that.
  16. The R888 is a semi slick, made for motorsport and not really suitable for street use.
  17. They would have to be hollow ARB's although they don't say.
  18. Interesting question so a bump and some comment. Camber pins attach the strut to the stub axle assembly? I'm not right up on KPI but its angle can affect steering feel and potential kickback I believe. But what I'd do is physically check what the various settings do ie rotate the steering and observe/measure what angles and changes are involved. Providing you know what you want this seems to be a practical way to approach it. Caster? Tied in with the above a bit isn't it, ~7-8 degrees?
  19. Yeh too many tight corners, not enough fast open ones. And having tight turns at the end of long straights is a QR National defect so why copy that? Actually a bigger version of the Club circuit could be good but its hard to tell the scale so....
  20. V70A's, they have a very stiff sidewall. Yeh ~22 cold.
  21. Goodoh, thanks blokes, sounds like the RE55's are fairly convential, unlike the Kuhmos which worked ~22psi.
  22. For a 1300kg two wheel drive car doing five lap sprints. Reason I ask is that I've never used them before and previous experience with Kuhmo's involved a fair bit of experimentation getting them right. So any cold/hot suggestions, any tricks? Won't be able to do the proper heat cycling at the start, unless running them on the road with low pressures will do that.
  23. Don't know the piston sizes, its a S14 kit on S14 struts with Z32 stock rear calipers.
  24. The wheel pictured is 17x8.5 +40 offset which just clears the custom coilover struts on the inside.
  25. Yeh, 332mm rotors, nice kit. Got the Enkeis from the US because Enkei in Oz only sell gay narrow wheels, check out the Enkei US website for the sizes available there.
