  1. To add a little perspective, there are those who think, spending money on big efficient IC's and premium fuel... then ingesting your own det inducing oil mist under WOT is mindless too. Some ppl vent their catch cans with a hose 1/2 down the car to stop oil engine... but it can make the rear bar oily.
  2. Would an N1, using... N1 turbos be classed as stock?
  3. Dang, these K5-660R's make tourqe wide like wizard's sleeve.
  4. Trick! I know a few ppl that wont move away from PFC's purely, due to their obsession with knock readings. Have you used one Trent?
  5. Power Excel / Datalogit will allow you to set the knock alert (and AFM, Inj%, etc) at a lower/higher limit. Link in NZ, make a thing called the "knock link" Jaycar make a cheap shift light. The math and signal processing done by a knock detector isn't simple, and i would doubt you'd find it "featured" in with another product like a shift light.
  6. I do indeed
  7. The ones iv seen, looks to have maybe just less then 50% surface area worth of holes.
  8. Doesn't Mr.Turbo (among others) make a ported shroud for the GT30?
  9. Perfectly said. That, plus you want to try and refrain from a shiny front mount and how easy it is to measure pressure drop; Just leave the IC.
  10. Sweet, iv seen a few blackhawks that all seem to use a corrugated style. rb26s13 - thats what i was suggesting, but multiple holes instead of just one works better at suppression.
  11. So you just want to know the setup and cost of every BNR32 here...?
  12. Those end things are useless. I was talking bout the ole "plate full of holes" - cut to the flange shape, placed in between two sections I wonder how they muffle the turbine gas discharge then..without hurting velocity hrmm.
  13. The fact its spitting code 11 when the CAS isn't present, and a 21 when it is... I got my money on the CAS. Have you got access to a oscilloscope to check its output maybe? Could the loom be damaged between CAS and ECU?
  14. Hey dood, When ordered a upper and lower Gates rad hose from rocket, they listed it suitable for "GTR's, 89 onwards" So Id say thats a fairly definitive yes from me
  15. A thin screw driver carfully pried under the hose <-> pipe connection, all the way around can help break the seal.
  16. Nice exhaust, shame to have to cut it up to drop just 3dB. Why are you so against a temporary restrictor plate? It would easily knock 3dB off, and if its already as quiet as a stock HSV, i doubt the popo will notice with it taken out. I was pulled over with a PEII system many a time back in the day (breath tests etc) and they never paid attention to 97dB@1234RPM... EDIT: Damm you Omurro ... and my lack of refreshing the page
  17. I checked the link, nice setup man, looks smooth If its complaining about the primary ignition signal, Id assume that to mean the CAS isn't behaving correctly. I'm not too familiar with RB26 CAS's, but id assume its a photodiode and chopper disk setup. 360 (=20) home slots and 6 trigger slots. If "Primary Ignition Signal" isnt refering to the whole CAS, maybe just one of those ouputs is broken, as i didnt think a RB would even fire without a CAS. I guess the obvious question is, have you tried a different CAS? I'm just just thinking aloud here GoodLuck
  18. ^^ so two of em are fitted in the kit?
  19. Pull your bar off and have a look. You could prolly weld a flange to the stock steel BOV feed. You'd then obviously need to make the outlet meet up with the stock BOV return. Would be pretty easy for any fabricator. Question is why though? In all reality, i think the two stockers would flow more then the Type R. You could loose the smooth response from the "softly sprung, always leaking" design of the stockers as well. My cents.
  20. Looking good man! Are you worried about the distance between the last two manifolds runners and the WG top hat? Ruptured diaphragm would suck.
  21. Tight fit, tell me about it! I'm just jealous i didn't have the balls to bend them like that Iv had to angle my dump pipe towards the motor to clear them, giving me about 10mm. Cheers!
  22. Dave, Anna; does the AC still work in that car? Im suprised how much you've been able to bend the firewall AC fittings. Do you think the expansion and growth of the manifold and turbo (when hot) requires any special consideration when running hard steel lines? Ive been wondering if loops should be made to assist the tube fittings in taking load.
  23. "get ready for the flame" Those stainless mesh ones are pretty loud... aren't they?
  24. I try You hadn't mentioned if you'd gone over the manual, so thought I'd throw it out there. No said photo's from me, but as per page 3, figure 3 (and 1) of the manual, id replace the stock solenoid with the new one, and give it a test.
  25. "touching wires" while the cars electrical system is turned on? To be brutally honest, your AFM install attempt and testing procedure reads like chaos. I think you should start warming to the idea, that theres a distinct possibility uv killed the sensitive AD input on the ECU. I'd revert to stock AFM and test with a known good ECU.
