  1. dammit, i was close
  2. Thanks man - no stress. Seems even those who'av made a contribution are having issues editing. The mods must have some work on their hands.
  3. Your pretty lucky your motor survived that i reckon.
  4. The pipe end is flared OUT, then back IN to make a diamond shape. Its mandated on brake and automotive fuel systems (though many ppl don't bother on fuel) Tools
  5. For starters u slapper, I'm quiet sure you have no f ucking idea what i think, as your attempt at profiling me and my feelings for SAU, couldn't be further off the mark. I feel i have contributed more then my fair share with assisting others, giving my opinions, reporting suspect users / posts, creating helpful DIY's and spewing general forum banter. The 1000's of hours painstakingly taking pictures and double checking information when posting i think, outways a $50 dollar donation. Alas your comments on contribution are made laughable for a person who's seemingly spent the majority of his 4yrs and 6000 posts lurking in mostly trashy NON SKYLINE related sections of the S.A. Wasteland. SAU is known worldwide for its technical information accuracy and hard stance on wankers; editing issues could stand to effect these quality technical threads and posts, not threads discussing youtube clips and breast implants. For the record, have twice attempted to donate but come across procedural issues both times. Admitally I should spend some time, talk to a mod and work through wiring a few 100 bux. response / rant over.
  6. Piece of piss, If you have a habit of making a mess of things though, just plan it out, take it slow and maybe some pictures if your worried about remembering where stuff goes.
  7. Riiight, ppl use pods for varied reasons, be it due to noise, cost (much cheaper to stick a Y pipe and two pods on a BST setup) space constraints or big power (Iv never seen 450rwkw through a panel) Ppl should learn to deal with it. I for one, would like this thread to remain vaguely on topic, there are many others with room for "anti hecktik'ising"
  8. Not a good idea afaic. Only the Optima style ones can be laid on their sides.
  9. Covered many a time... Trolly jack under engine x-member and in front of rear diff, The rail's (loosest sense of the definition) are fairly weak and i dont wanna crush em. The Sill's are a big no-no for obvious reasons (one of mine was squashed flat when i got it) I used to use the curved section, front / rear, just near where the lower control arm attaches to cross member/rear cradle. I didn't like the idea of living under the car for days like this though. Figuring Nissan designed the sills to take the weight, (as per manual) a mate, made some thick dense rubber blocks with slits (in which the sill sits in) I place these on the jack stands. Same concept as the part you can buy from Nissan (if your a workshop)
  10. This thread rocks, agree with it all!! I'm dodging the things every 2nd night - never met a group of ppl so like minded about the topic, you'd think this was a car forum lol Michele - Thats nasty, reminds me about a video we saw in a highschool agriculture class. The Roo you eat, wouldn't just be wild stuff though?.. would it?... aww i ate 600g worth last night.. feeling sick now.
  11. I believe so yes.
  12. how does one quantify 11% difference?.. Gosh reading NS is always amusing
  13. BNR32 (I'd think all Lines are the same) lines are .310" (7.84mm) which is close enough to 5/16". As per link, your prolly after #818-05 All race fittings sell em, plus most other commercial manufactures. They seem to be made out of some coated steel, though exposed material doesn't seem to rust so maybe stainless? You'll need a simple 370 flaring tool, but really, i think your sposed to double flare fuel lines.
  14. Is your car turbo? - sounds like your cannister is missing the purge valve on top, meaning its for a NA car usually. The connection is needed to draw fumes from the cannister into the motor, and bring fresh air from in underneath. Good question about where you put that single line. As theres no boost pressure to worry about, id say hook it up to the plenum... someone correct me if im wrong, i haven't worked on a non turbo car in like a decade
  15. 818 Series Tube Nut
  16. The ignition you can run with WI skews the comparison with Kemp's setup imo ~300rwkw@1bar is on par with other 35R setups so far. Anticipating the results when ignition is sorted 35R's are the way of the future, ppl just dont know it yet
  17. Post #12 if you read it, is pretty self explanatory.
  18. Still waaaiting.....
  19. ? Yes HKS are tweaked Garret products. HKS make some of their own comp wheels and specify reground housings. Cores are the same I believe. Trust - IHI Blitz - KKK Sure disco can enlighten u with more details, depending on what your actually looking for...
  20. Have you tried a proper commercial pressure fittings place.
  21. Maybe its another power run thats been overlayed?
  22. I'll assume your addressing your post to me I didn't mean to flare the post IC pipe to larger then TB size just for viscosity's sake... Most TB's are larger then the comp cover outlet, as are most IC inlet / outlet. This is why most ppl fit smaller pipework from turbo -> IC inlet (with a flare) and then use larger pipework from IC outlet -> TB. Again, I'm not suggesting using bigger pipes then your TB. My above thoughts are simply trying to legitimize the already "normal practice" of having IC -> TB pipes, the same width as the TB, and the turbo -> IC pipe, the same width as the turbo outlet OD (which as mentioned, is invariably a smaller OD then the TB) You may, but just like a few other ppl posting in this thread, I've a GTR with stock ~3.25 inch piping.
  23. Correct, what i was aiming at though, was that thicker post IC piping might help with the increased viscosity of the cooler gas... in theory. EDIT: Seems the above confused some ppl. Im not talking about using IC -> TB pipes BIGGER then the OD of either IC outlet or TB. I'm adding weight to the already normal practice, where that pipe ends up being wider then the turbo -> IC pipe.
  24. Oh dear, this R sounds used and abused. Who ever did the mechanical check for you, needs a zip tie around the neck.
