  1. It took me a long while to realize, theres a perception that BST or MST make more power / better response then low mount twins. People must just like the idea, of replacing two with one... or like the look of a stonking great high mount Diff ways to skin a cat, each to their own i guess.
  2. First what does the “vent” look like in the bonnet? As if its facing backwards, its not really going to promote airflow into the hole. Could you rivet some shaped alloy tabs to the sides, so the latches can grab them? What ever “hooks” you have that are impervious to decent metal drill bits... must be made of depleted uranium lol, I doubt serious heat or flame could reach the foam your using; specific flame retardant stuff wont be needed. As for profiling, I never though of al-foil, that’s pretty clever. When mounting gear at the top of the engine bay, I dislike the idea of wasted space between it and the bonnet. (fuel reg, remote oil filter etc) I used normal corrugated cardboard, with run of the mill bamboo skewers pushed into the end. The height of the cardboard is a known measurement, as is the location I hot glued it. Close the bonnet, open again, and hey presto; the “resolution” of the shape is obviously dependant on how many skewers you use. From here it’s too easy transferring the shape onto more cardboard to use as a template.
  3. #2 lol, i love 21st Century social networking channels Congrats on purchase, time to driiiiive
  4. thats one hectic pink whale
  5. Hell yazz, who would vote no ha
  6. IMO, Trimming works well for safety... not power though. You can richen the last few cyl's but can you trim IGN per cyl to account for the longer, richer burn time... Nismo item, or modifying the rear runners would be best.
  7. .... as i mentioned, a mate uses a 3.5" one Look in the US dood, not JapScatLand for a larger one.
  8. OEM there's dozens that use something similar, Dancing horse, Maserati, Bentley, Jag, Aston Martin and so on. Some, like the 360 though, i think are for sound.. not noise suppression. I've a mate with one, though theres a 4" "Y" pipe. Closed the zhaust works normally, open and it sounds like an open pipe bridge ported 13B *cough* ... So he has an option of loud (100dB) and even louder... Most are stepper motor controlled, so you could make it open (any angle) by any system with a spare output, like an aftermarket ECU. Im sure a simple PIC could help those with OEM ECU's. I figured most people used a Y pipe, and diverted the exhaust gases straight to atmosphere, but it seems not of late. The large 3.5" - 4" units from teh US seal COMPLETELY for this reason. BTW, I would expect the roadside RTA to rape you dry if caught. I would be VERY cautious of exhaust temps (straight through, non Y style) when cruising on the freeway, as the back pressure plus closed loop lamba correction, would make for some very hot exhaust valves i would have thought... Juz my thoughts
  9. Ban wtf...
  10. Nice work GT. These threads annoy me though, can there be no single "fuel usage" thread? One single point for punters to read what other guys/gals are getting?
  11. (Note to self) "Next time im drag racing past a primary school at lunch time / church on Sunday and spin out, crack my rear tail light lens, ill be sure to make a fake account before talkn bout it on SAU lol"
  12. This thread was started for BNR32's, so i cannot be sure of your setup. The CC has vapor line from the tank, the purge line and a trigger from the plenum somewhere. - The f.tank line runs along the fuel lines from the back to front, up over the firewall near the brake lines, past the AC HP lines, and to the thickest lines on the C.cannister. - The trigger line is the thinest, and on a BNR32 connected the the first (of 6) throttle bodies. - The purge line hooks up somewhere to the plenum, i forget.
  13. Tourqing wheel nuts, thats OCD buddy, welcome to the club lol.
  14. Not sure a 120mm PC fan will do much, might not like being bolted a 1000C core either. Dont be fool into thinking a 12V PC fan is the same as 12v automotive unit. A typical 80amp alternator and 400amp battery allows quiet meaty motors used in the automotive area. Have you got an aftermarket w.temp gauge, or PFC that shows temp? My understanding is, that your not likely to get your oil much cooler then your water due to how close they're linked (and the OEM oil<->water exchanger) Maybe a automotive style 8" would fit on its side...?
  15. Nice work, rem u heard it here first lol
  16. I think its this.... taken from a picture of Shaun's engine bay.

  21. Revived for sure! Level with the strut tower is bout wot?... 2" higher then norm? Mines been in the lower passenger side brake duct; no worries. In reality this thread was started by myself with some caution (I have NON now) The only thing I worried bout was the tank feed. People suggested running a loop (like a toilet drain) but I gave in, and didn't.... all seems well. Unless your car tips upside down, your ok.. and really.. if that did happen, you aint guna be worrying bout the charcoal cannister.. you'll be checking your dates tits... ... my attempt at humor on a Sat night.. Its fumes, not liquid thats the transfer medium.
  22. $5 deal from SuperCheap dood
  23. That's Tutbonetics new gate, that hinges yah? Looked pretty interesting when i was looking around 4 months ago for a gate for personal use. Think ill wait for "other" people to test it first.... In terms of flow.. check the valve lift of a typical WG, Turbonetics new design does look promising in that regard.
  24. ^^ Macca's straw FTW! PS: Iv seen increased ignition timing changes raise fullboost point by 300rpm. Dato 1600 FTW!!! I spent my youth droooooling over 1600's... thats all.... *cough*
