  1. Ha - it is I'm all up for soft forums that allow diff types of audience. But this isn't porn; you don't get warned at work for looking at threads with foul language. I reckon there must be some mandate on language, that Pranker'chops must abide to, as I'll type F_ck, Feck, Feckin, Farking, F.cking instead of F U C K ... as im sure most ppl do... ppl know what your saying, but the "filter" doesnt catch it. Really though, its a car forum, most ppl are 16+ and the country derived from filthy mouthed poms, bad language is part of culture "Family forum" gets thrown about a lot, but i know its rare I'm with the sis, bro, siblings, olds, grand parents, on X-mas eve, scrolling through SAU threads Alas, some special effect, innocuous showing, would be good for replaced words.
  2. If the SAF uses the same sensitivity ratio as PFC, i would say, don't worry. Even if it doesn't, the fact it gets quieter as revs rise, makes it even less important If interested, borrow some "Det cans" from a tuner, or good mechanic. If not, use the ole "long screw driver to the ear" on different points in the engine bay - You'd be surprised by the amount of noise generated by diff parts of the system. Theres a chip or multi staggered spectrum analyzer built into OE ECU, PFC and other AM products like the Knock Link thats job is to isolate proper chamber det from other noises.
  3. I reckon the there should be some feedback to readers that a word has been replaced. Iv already seen some confusion created from the effect.
  4. Sweet Christian, cheers for info Yah, placing maint in the lowest load trough would make sense I'll stop complaining now hahaha M
  5. Never tried it, but I read on here recently that bocking exhaust at the rear tailpipe (best done with a mate, so its not staying blocked too long) and listen for noises around the suspect area, can work. Have you lost any power? Could have your cat collapsed? Did it occur after some WOT? could a piece of gasket been spat out, due to flange <-> flange not tight enough? (people don't clean studs properally when re-using)
  6. Correct, the surface area increasing matrix inside the cat (be it normal ceramic or metal) has a coating that provides a multi stage chemical converting process. The process creates more heat after the cat then before (why road side RTA can use laser temp guns to make sure you cat hasn't been "gutted" The sensor will trigger a lamp on the dash if it rises above a preset. This indicates either to lean mixtures at cruise (hot chamber mixtures), way too rich, and the fuel is burning in the dump pipe, or a blocked cat. So tie it somewhere, or just cut it off and remove lamp bulb in the dash. Glad to help Reading material if your interested
  7. Temp sensor, ignore it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Qu...05808.html& http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3628181 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Da...;p=3557585& http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Da...p=3556598&h
  8. Or use what ever you have now. Where theres a straight section, cut it, and slap some straight ally of the same diam in there. Custom motor, custom parts
  9. Yah, but youd think from all the shite you hear from "they", the bottom would be a cess pool? I could hardly find one speck of sand. No buildup on inner walls at all. Nvr trust those "they's"
  10. Hahah that makes sense now! hahah fecking filter. I wondered why recently a lot a ppl using "bollocks"! I thought only scummy poms like I use that word ha. ne way
  11. Alcohol ridden Friday for this one, fo sho...
  12. L0L - good times
  13. I got NFI on cause, but would just try the remedys ppl suggested above. Something interesting though i think, is that only a few weeks ago, i manually scooped 1/4 tank of fuel outa my "89 GTR. After a lot of looking around, rubbing etc... the tank was spotless, none of the shite ppl tank about. Have a S14 mate who swears all Silvia's get so much gunk in the tank... not my older Skyline... i figure mines been flushed at some stage? hrrm.. *keeps on rolling*
  14. ok ok, well i guess i need to be more patient... I F.Fox tabbed 10 cool topics last night.. only to have them all do shite. Looked at the clock.. 2:03am.. dammit :D Funky, when you say "your server" is that your state server, or the entire SAU server? I'm an IT f_kwit and interested in how the system is distributed tis all Cheer'oss
  15. Just tailgated by this mysterious black ECR33 on Federal highway, Northbound.. then on Sutton all the way to Wamboin. Tut tut, 2-3s rule in the dry, much much more in the wet... specially when it hasn't rained in a while, roads are quiet slick. Damn P plater's! hehe
  16. I reckon spend the time to learn how to read those results. American V8 forums would be a good place i woulda thought. I know I gots no clue.
  17. Lol'chops, yah we get many a low 40's in eastern Oz. Its not so much the external air temp, its the combustion temperatures (500-1000C) Those last few 100 degrees are more about AFR ratios, boost pressure and advanced ignition IMO.
  18. Doh - amateur hour Going to let us know who did the work, so we can boo them jk, don't do that.
  19. I guess the concept is that a lot of air doesn't go through the cooler at all; it buffets over the bonnet, under the car, around the sides. With the small eddy's in front of the cooler, i guess another direction change (through the now angled fins) doesn't impact it do much. Rem too, instead of air going through the IC -> Rad, then into a already hot pressurized engine bay, -> off the firewall and down under the car... half the air (assuming IC is on top) is going out the bonnet. Its getting sucked out the bonnet actually.
  20. *cough* Race Logic *cough*
  21. Nope, not in my experience, if i thought so, i woulda made another shit analogy for it - ha
  22. Beh, you can engineer it for sure. Ppl do whole tube frame front, tilting f/glass front sections.. Unless something has changed lately then...
