  1. Yah, i just checked it out, love your work Worked someone up so much, he threatened to hide in another model car, 'loose the plot' and incite violence on those demeaning his car of choice - the irony, awesome
  2. Sure it wasn't hot runny oil? Did it smell like fuel?
  3. They should have mentioned the mounting issue when you picked it up, though being fair... ...not that i know the tuner you went to, but I know a few who wouldn't think its their job to drill holes and mount the ECU He's most likely skilled in tuning and is payed for his experience, not mounting things in your kick panels IMO. .... hopefully an "installation cost" didn't appear on your work receipt? haha
  4. Strange, 2 pages down from that diagram, theres this... Is that 446Nm for the crank pulley bolts?

  6. Top mount, as in a IC mounted on top of the motor, being fed by a bonnet scoop? (ala WRX) If you mean front mount, then there are many sub $700 kits that should fit your need. You wont need to change your turbo or dump. Theres a few threads atm on fitting them. ... if you did mean top mount, im pretty interested in why your going that way, given the work required to get air into and out of the core in a Skyline engine bay.
  7. Emissions yes, I wasn't implying anything else. Its an in-joke i have with some mates. The less cluey ones are amazed an "89 JDM car doesn't have an exhaust recirc setup.
  8. Lol Skirt? that happens? Since the 3-4yrs Iv owned my import, i get nothing but highschool males at servo's asking the three most important automotive specifications... 1 - "How much boost are you running dude?" 2 - "Bet you smoke almost all of the V8 boys eh?" 3 - "Can you do a burnout when you drive off?"
  9. R33 owners wanting bolt ons are quiet rare. Good luck man
  10. Click the link -> Manuals -> R33 Workshop Manual ...
  11. Certainly no EGR on an RB26. They'd be hard pressed to physically find the space to do it i reckon haha. EGR setups are for economy, commuter cars.. like SR's in Silvia platforms Apart from the charcoal cannister, i don't think a 26 has any emissions gear. Double check the manual (post a screen dump) as you must be looking at another RB motor.
  12. Thats odd it seemed to have fixed itself. Maybe a dodgy / intermittent loom connection - if so it might crop up again. The real test i guess, would be to wiggle the coil pack loom around to simulate changing plugs again, and see if it reoccurs.
  13. Your suggestion has two coolers; between turbo and sump. Seeing as ANY o.cooler setup runs the core just after the sump -> o.pump... why not just run a normal, oil cooling setup? IE, normal oil cooling setups run essentially the same way as your proposed, more complicated setup IMO
  14. Nice work man, huuge kudos for getting this all done in that small car bay!!!!
  15. Garage Saurus's 800hp dinosaur BNR32 w/ OSG 3.0L and T88 does a 0'56"641. The power in this case, makes up for the lag it seems. Interestingly, Tsukuba is a larger track then those, which the mines car seems to dominate. Mines has done a 0'57"840 times for comparison.
  16. theres info about, alllll about
  17. With all due respect, who the f uck is the "in" crowd these days? IMO Australian's generally pick the underdog, so is the GTST is the Ozzi "in" crowd? lol The majority of hipo car owners don't know wtf they want / need anyway. The threads an insight lol
  18. Never taken em off. I would have thought that plastic base bit pops off, or slides in one direction, similar to the seat belt mounts.
  19. Yah, soft detergent, lots of water and dried in the sun on a warm day. The longer it it takes to dry, the higher the chance of mold.
  20. Black flexible plastic conduit, available at auto sparky / hop up shops.
  21. When searched, SAU could have produced this link. You could have found an R33 doco and data there GL
  22. LoL, admittedly that came out a bit strong, scuze The below is essentially the crux of what I was passionate about... $2.10/L - is really only a 25% increase, id pay that with a smile haha. You didn't quote your current ability, so i assumed it based on your Q. A forum based mostly on modifications to Skyline skimps on the basic stuff, which can send a person backwards $$ very quickly... I know someone there now Without getting into a debate regarding the legitimacy of info available in public forums, simply put, its about numbers. The viability weighting of info should be based on a singular persons apparent experience / knowledge, or simply the repeating of the same info by multiple sources. On the other topic, without offending ppl, IMO theres a massive difference between a normal career mechanic VS an experienced mechanic with a passion (and business) for highly modified cars. Advising, piecing together, tuning and then putting your word on a particular customers 10- 11sec setup IS more then worthy of the 'technician" moniker. Mind my English and bar all the jibba jabba, I reckon as long your passionate and skilled enough not to sweat over loosing an engine or entire car while tinkering - theres nothing to fear
  23. Wtf are you talking about. SAU or no SAU, if you have no clue, then your going to get stung. If you cant afford to pay for petrol and a) spend time to learn about your car, or b) pay someone who knows... maybe its time to opt out, and just drive the prelude... harsh but fair.
  24. A few years of import ownership should have you on the right track! haha.
