True, though could stop someone from buying a car with defective air bag system.

Could you play with hose diameters in front of the reg, to try and remove some the oscillations out the pressure. Do they make automotive fluid "hammer dampeners" Is it possible to replace the diaphragm? All things i would check M

My Restoration

TurboX - Your restoring a Javelin?? -
I heard a rumor that when you remove / disconnect the PCM unit, in a BA Falcon, that its a $1000 Ford mech call out fee to get her to start again. It wouldn't be totally impossible to think that a airbag going off, needs a consult and command written to the ECU.. or something :0 Just a thought M

Agreed

Hey, Ill take a stab, and say, that the HICAS ECU reads a bunch of the sensors to do its job, wheel speed, s.wheel angle, (G-force?) etc. These sensors, although being read by both engine ECU and ATTESA, should still continue to work.. in feeding the HICAS ECU Cheers M

What Is This Thats Leaking?

I too am interested to know if there are any disadvantages to slotting some some alloy rings in, over busted sub frame bushes, as im in the same boat. ... as if they are designed to take most of load off the actual bush.. well then.. gee, that would save me removing a sub frame M -
Doesn't one need to flange it the same as the outlet.. then expand out to 4" within the first 3" of length? ... sorry just being picky in this 35+ heat

Hrrrm, i thought the Malpassi's where the choice, and my SARD was a jap gimmick toy i would cop shit for. This thread could prove me wrong ha. Agreed though, the SX/Areomotive have a following. I saw dozen of units recently at the 07 SummerNats. Many injected 800hp NA big blocks Does the fluttering actually cause regulation issues, or is it just freaking ppl out? M

I guess there are reasons why someone hasn't stickied a "modding my cat" thread Speaking of cats, i was talking to psiproducts.com.au bout the trusty metal'cat - and f*k me, no wonder people use the magic cats, they quoted me US$440 for the 3.5!! M

Hey Bud, I'm running the same turbo. I would match the gate dump, to the gate valve? ie, 45mm = 1.8" (so 2") I haven't found the turbine outlet diam, but figure ill expand it out to around 4" for connection to a metal'cat, then Trust PEII... so i can upgrade later on. Hope this helps Michael

Aren't weight bridges meant really for larger scale automotive vehicles? Go to a decent suspension place, get em to check heights, then get measurements with corner scales; progress from there. I too am in a process of moving easy weight to the rear if i can. HICAS, batt, wash bottle cetra. Happy stripping - M

If it helps at all, i have a mate who's VDO would always sit 1/2PSI above 0. The error amount would change as well. careful with speculation scouts, just as a physical copper tube winding in a mech gauge can change over time, so can the mechanical pressure sender in a electronic gauge Its sad to think a gauge.. with has only one real function can leave a factory, not working correctly. - M

Bnr32 Cant Get Seating Position Correct...
GeeTR replied to GeeTR's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Awesome, thanks Zeta for your contribution. It seems a lot of ppl running seats that fit them well, require quick release kits. I always figured Junki's would nab my wheel, though the ones that tilt, not separate would work. Thats Exactly what i was looking for BB!! "HKB" Generic boss, i can then use with most boss's and wheels Thanks a heap!! - Michael -
Paulr33 - Thanks a lot man, but damm I'm confused now =) Need to grab a coffee 1) Stock Setup (will use your voltages) This is my understanding from what your saying AFM1: 3.21 AFM2: 3.11 = Average would be 3.16v ? <- This would be used in your PFC LOAD calc. 2) Single Z32 bridged lets pretend Z32 same as Stocker AFM airflow vs voltage voltage. AFM1: 6.42 AFM2: 6.22 = Average would be 6.32v - I don't understand where your 3.10 comes from, it inst the average of 3.21 and 3.11 - Even if you average the Z32 output, its STILL double the normal air flow I'm sure Iv missed something basic, thanks for your patience. - M

Bnr32 Cant Get Seating Position Correct...
GeeTR replied to GeeTR's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Wheres the improvement Remix, what are your measurements? Did you car come with them from Jp? Id like to find a strong, correct reclinable if possible as its a 2 door, i see the Zeta is a fixed back. $800 for FRP, and $1600 for CF, with the "type L" more again. I dont like the idea buying a seat without trying first. Ta M -

Cheers, Will jot them down, and check em out when in Melb / Syd. I wasn’t too keen on spent $1500 new Racaro right now but a second hand one, or a new cheaper seat could be the go, not before I try them out though, im a little picky. Baron – Yah, I’ve seen pics of your defi clad, roll caged BNR32 with the Cobra’s – mighty impressive. Cheers for the “GT” hahaha I see you have a quick release, though what steering wheel and HICAS suitable boss are you using? This will require a fair amount of work and looking around i think - M -
Hey there, First started thinking of it, as a way to save me a few $100 in mounting twin AFM's. Its either one of those Trust "suction pipes" that’s the typical shiny cast "Y" to mount the AFMs on a single turbo, or having someone fabricate one, which at labor rates, would be a small fortune. Moving the AFM would mean just one large pipe off turbo > air box > done, no more headaches. Tis also a way for the "Dose - Dose" lads to get their kicks without flaming on gearshifts. "Air bouncing" - i wasn't directly worried about this, as others have run the same setup, same gear without issues... as far as im aware- but yes, it would obviously stop that too. PaulR33 - something will need to be done with the AFM tables no? as the ONE AFM, will have the entire engines air requirement flowing through it, then fed into both AFM inputs on the ECU; would show way too much combined voltage no? Average away, its still going to show double. Cheers All - M

Bnr32 Cant Get Seating Position Correct...

Thanks Guys, GTRgeoff - Did the recaro you bought have a width for the wings, how wide were they? Model? RellikZephyr - will let you know, if i get rid of these Ferni - Cheers, yah, i got some costs to rebolster and modify.. and 1st / 2nd hand AM seats are looking like good value. Do any of you guys know where i could test a bunch of different seats? Revolution Racegear here in CBR is a little lacking in variety Again, thanks for your help - M -
Merry Xmas SAU’ers!! I was going to post this in the normal sections though didn’t think I would receive the best advice with a thread involving steering wheels and racing seats I’m 186cm,85kg,52cm shoulder width and realized today the stock seats in my BNR32 ARE causing me shoulder issues, and will undoubtedly get worse as I grow. Issues: - Wings on seat too narrow, and hunch my shoulders forward - Not enough lumber support ( normal wear) - At a length where knees don’t bump the under dash every heel toe, my arms are too far away from the steering wheel - Together as the driver, if the above were all right; feel too high, with my head 10mm from the roof lining I really like the std seats, with the fabric ultra grippy, so you almost slide out of your pants, like Evo’s, and assume I can stick harness straps through the upper slots. I thought of having them rebolstered but I don’t know how much they could “open” up the wings. I guess my question has a few parts. Im looking for people who don’t comply to “Census measurements of the average JapLand driver” and what seats you use, or have had experience with. Also, the steering wheel, even full reach adjustment is maybe 2” too far. I was going to use a longer boss, that would bring a aftermarket wheel closer. Again the std steering wheel is the right shape and size, but is very slippery when your hands get a bit wet. I was looking at OMP wheel, though know I need a boss with the right adaptor for the S.wheel angle sensor. Does the manufacturer of the wheel need to make the right boss for a Skyline, or can you buy a generic unit, then fit any generic OEM wheel? Any assistance, views, opinions wot eva appreciated! - M

Cheers Adriano, will look around Good idea GTR-Ben, with the 4" pipe and i know what you mean about the 100% I trying to ascertain a success rate before i mess with it. As for the signal from both AFM's showing air flow for the entire motor, i was going to tweak the tables with Datalogit, to half each signal. 800HP niiice though what do you mean by a "chipped AFM" ? You mean they used a different PCB inside the AFM body? Would be cool to know how well that car ran. Results under WOT i think should be ok, the test is likely to be cruising, partial throttle, rapid throttle movement, overrun etc. appreciated -M

Hey T04GTR, Sorry, forgot to mention im not running stock airbox or stock blow-by recirc to the rear turbo. My car came off the boat with HKS shroom pods and im running a catch can with stock PCV, but yah, I figured that would be one of the legitimate issues for people in the other boat. I found some threads last night on RX7forums, Calaisturbo.com and NS.com.nz (note .NZ) all successful, all fixing varying rough running issues. The main points ppl seem to bring up, is intake temp and mass. Some people saying the AFM weren’t designed to take the varying temperature out of the turbo and through the IC. I would have thought that the stock the air box would see a fairly wide range of temps, winter conditions, and idling in summer. Mass - would the AFM measure the now pressurized air running through it? Im not sure. My thinking gets me as far as, momentum and latent heat holding capacity. The compressed air, is denser and so should still remove the correct corresponding amount of heat from the hot wire.. me thinks Please all, flame away, I need thoughts from all angles - M

Nismo rate the pair at 775ps, which is about 30kw+ over, the top-end rating of the single im planning to run.. which i might leave explored till rebuild.
