    $100 for gearbox oil is imo pricey. What about castrol vmw80 i think its called, is it resonable for say someone like me who doesnt have a spare $100.

    in regards to mechanics looking at the car, what if the car is at the dealers would a check by an independent mechanic considered highly recommended. As ive heard that there, not all, dealers which are dodgy.

    i think someone mentioned that it may be the black wire which is the ground wire and not the whire one.

    the reason that it still feels pretty tight is because there are also plugs that need to be unclipped near where the screws are which can only be removed by something like a flat head spanner as the plug clips into the boot.
