It seems that i had all the switches on the amp switched to the left, so what i did was switch some of them back to the left, rofl - what happened was when i did this i was completely shocked and almost drop my dacks as it was f##kn loud, apparely it was on 4v which i placed back to norm. Anywhow, system is so now now very very impressed with the sound and quality of not only the splits but the power of the amp. I do have another question though, I get static noises when ever i switch the engine on but it can only be heared when the h/d volume is at 0. How can i stop this noise, wires crossing ?

hey guys i just want some opinion on a system set up matter. do kickers k6.2 [component splits] and a alpine mrv f505 [amp] go together that well, i think the alpine amp is rated @ 100 rms? while the kicker splits are rated @ 75 rms. IF these figures are the case, does it make sense that the amp will overpower the splits as it seems thus far. BTw does any1 know how to adjust the noches/switches on these amp to take full advantage of it..or does any1 know what the switches does? thanx.

yes, Im concerned about visibilty also since the car is prodominately situated in public places. hhmm..need window tinting! btw is your speakers running of your headunit or amp? On the issue of sound deadning, ive heard that some ppl have used pink batts..seems like a cheap alternative but then again it doesnt contain the properties which sound deadning products possess. Approx. how long did it take you to install your speakers..particularly door panel removal and midrange installation?

Sime: thanx for your reply, its very helpful. Well, then im going to try and install it myself but it that fails then i guess Ill have to get it pro installed. btw where did you mount your tweeters? Im thinking of putting them on the back of the mirror plate but atm with a glance it seems to be too big, actually more like it buldges out a bit. Also, how do your speakers sound .. any sound deadening used?

thats sounds like a very good price miss nismo. Another thing which i might add is that is it possible to get just purely the speakers installed ie. by complete audio. y? b/c im getting an amp not long from now and would want to get the speakers directly connected to it , thus no need to uncut/clip wires from the headunit to then have to rerun the wires to the boot. Furthermore, it would save me money in the long run as it seems they cost another $150 odd to run to an amp in which you have alredy got an amp kit for. Can pro's just do the speaker step for you? thanx

Are you offerring a discount? anyways, yeah Ill give you a visit sometime soon btw tonkins quoted me ~80 to install speakers, but with my splits(kickers k6.2) would require mdf therefore he sed ~$130 yikes!? is this to much? oh Im not going to tonkins now that miss_nismo has sugested hers, but as a benchmark as to how much Im looking @ paying. Hey guys, ive just got a simple question to ask. Ive get a pair of 6.5 inch splits and would like to know if any here has installed spilts themselves before or have taken it to an audio specialist ie. tonkins, mobiltek. If a home job, is it hard to remove the door trims etc tc or If you guys had it pro installed would any1 recommend tonkins? thanx in advance

thanx for your input guys, ive decided for the mean time to go for the gtr over the wrx and over modding my gtst. What i will take into considertation now is how much it will cost to insure as currently it costs me $3, 300 comprehensive for my gtst, im 20 and its my first car ive insured. Apparently the GTr is going to cost me alot more, but that is another issue. In the mean time, I will be getting the car for a few days to drive to make my decision and place a deposit. Cant wait to drive it!!

before i purchased the gtst i didnt know that it would eat so much petrol ie ~ 70 p/w, and its stock - now i dont know if everybody else get around this mark, but it depends i know.This is average i fork out weekly. Now the gtr that is avaliable comes modded ie power fc, zorst, fmic and b/c of that and the prices of petrol atm i looking @ expenses that would need to be put aside for it which isnt alot if purchased.

thank you for your replys, undecided still but am leaning towards the gtr but am concerned with its down sides e.g insurance, fuel economy, servicing. The gtr is owned by a family friend who is willing to part with it for me for a resonable price yay! as she aint got the funds to run the car that much anymore [fuel consumption, my other concern].

hey guys, ive recently bought a pair of kicker splits and would like to know if any1 has done a DIY to their r33, in regards to installing them to the front doors. I havent attempted to take the door apart yet as im worried about breaking/pulling something apart particularly the drivers door. This is just the first step and Im alredy afraid to attempt it, also Im unsure of where to place tweeters one door is apart. Any help would be much appreciated. dooky.
