nothing beats a jap branded 'cooler. if it isnt broken dont fix it. trust me i know, ive installed a few jap and non-jap coolers in my time and the jap one's shit all over the rest.

thinking of bringing some appetizers ie spring rolls or the likes - basically asian bites. is that cool with you guy, if so will need to use your oil/pan to cook it with.

oh another thing, anyone here driven a laurel before and whats people's opinion on them??

by the sounds of things its normal. after owning the car for 3+ years, its only now that ive noticed the needle fluctuating in response to throttle reponse and oil temps is nothing out of the ordinary. thanks for reassuring me.

jmac, nice install there buddy. one thing i noticed that is quite strange though is the length of the hoses, they seem to be pretty damn long.

hey guys/girls, ive noticed recently that when i start my car (cold starts) that the oil gauge needle shoots straight up to 8. now after a while of idling the needle slowing goes down to 4. what is odd is that when i accelerate the needle goes slowing upwards towards the 8 on the oil guage, other times it would just stay on 4. but when i decelerate and slow down then the needle goes down to 2 but creeps back up again towards and stays at 4 when i accelerate. i dont think this is normal, as i dont recall the needle ever fluctuating up and down before. if i remember correctly, on cold starts the needle stay at 0 until it warms up then goes to 2 on the gauge and not often 4. am i being paranoid or is their something wrong?? any help is much appreciated, duc.

i dont know much about chasers or toyota engines for that matter but saw one recently with a 1jz in it and imho was alot nicer than other imports (both coupe and sedan's) that ive seen lately.

i have a oil coolers + remote relocating kits combo sitting in my shed but am still confused as to whether a thermostat is required or not thus havent installed it.

i found from previous experience in my sil80 that having the spring loose or not loose doesnt effect the stalling issues associated with atmo bov's. that was until i plumbed it back - works a charm now, maybe try that to rectify you problems. funnily enough, the 'line doesnt have an aftermarket bov. personal preference, i dont mind the sound - the sil80 came with the aftermarket bov.
