my SR pump never came with a gasket, normally there is a little "trench" that runs around the outside. U just use a sealant like selleys....

Hey guys, heard this term thrown around a lot in regards to idle control. What is it? Where is it and do you think cleaning it will help my cold start idle up because at the moment the car struggles to idle up when cold, I have to give it a hand with the pedal.... sorry for a rather crappy thread but I did search first...... cheers!

its the switch dude, mine was doing the same thing, took it apart and the contact on the right was burnt down. Stretched the spring and its all good now. they should all be the same height so stretch the damaged one out.

Sorry for the hi jack but what is the AAC and do you think a dirty one would be causing my R32 to not idle up when cold unless I give it some throttle? How do I clean it and where is it? cheers! As per topic, make sure the car is getting up to the right temperature, if its not your thermostat could be stuffed so the choke is staying on...

That car is nasty Roy!..... Considering the R32 and Vl were designed around the same period, the Vl has a lot to answer for.... I agree with you though, a comodore should be an 8, not a turbo. I love the sound of a lumpy V8. Rock up at the lights next to an old phase 3 or something and the idle is enough to scare you. ha ha the RB20 sounds like an accord next to one of these.

Yeah only car I've seen are executive commys, falcons, camry's corollas. The camrys and corollas have police markings but no lights/sirens. I once saw a VTSS cop car at a booze bus, I think V8s were ditched soon after. They don't really need anything bar v6s. I mean they're hardly gutless, both putting out over 160KW now.... I've seen cop cars driven in anger and can't say with their training that i'd be confident in running from them. Good to see the WRX bashing occurs in every forum, some people won't learn till someone who can drive one rips them hard. WRXs are very competent cars, you just can't drive them with no mercy like a silvia/skyline.

hey guys, My 32 is leaking oil from the speedo sender plug on the gearbox. Not a lot, just prefer it didn't. Is there an actual seal to replace this or is it a selleys job? cheers!

I too would be interested in this as my vents make horror noises when they move... My aircon has also stopped working recently... the car feels warm too even with the heater off.

ha ha, that's what I thought. Its a slight bend to replace with pipe. The only place I could find that would do it was genie and they wanted over $200! If you know of somewhere else, i'd be very interested as this was my first idea.

ever driven one? My STOCK auto Jzx90 mark2 ran consecutive 14 flats..... add an exhaust and stuff and your looking mid to low 13s... for a large car weghing over 1500kg that's impressive. that's pretty quick IMO...

Hey guys, kinda odd but I was wondering if anyone wants to swap their cat back exhaust with me. I have a Kakimoto (spelling?) cat back with a middle muffler and the rear stainless barrel type, not a cannon. Its very quiet and I wouldn't mind something a little louder so it would suit someone who thinks theirs is a little raucus... Cheers fellas.

I sold my S13 then imported my R32 and bought a KTM 400SC.... Best decision I ever made! Dirt, not street though for Sunday fun

yeah, think i'll take it to someone with more of an idea... I can't hear the compressor kicking in either I just realised so it may be something along the lines of a post further up the page of a temp sendor for the refrigerant. I've checked all fuses and stuff, so I think this may be the problem. I'll take it in anyway... cheers for the help guys, I don't think I inhaled too much gas so hopefully i'm okay

No way will 8-10K buy a decent R32. That's crappy condition auto bracket there... Even personally importing mine, its about 11K on road for a nice mildly modded manual. With the closure of the 15 year old rule I'd be betting on around 14K-15K for a nice one these days. S13s are a little cheaper, again, you get what you pay for... Performance wise, they're pretty much identical. The S13 gives away top end for bottom end, the R32 gives away bottom for top. There's no "torque hole" as some would have you believe just the same size motor in a mildly heavier car (although a much nicer car) Keep in mind that a vast majority of S13s have been in the hands of a lot of 17 year olds are are showing the signs on it... however you'll find a nice one easier then an R32 which are far less common. your call, just no NA R33

Hey guys, Got my air con regassed 2 weeks ago after it was drained in Japan. Had it leak tested, etc and it was fine. Now the air con is warm and there's no gas in it. Took it back to the guy who now says the metal line from the firewall to the compressor is stuffed and leaking gas? Wouldn't this have shown up on the leak test? How does a metal line leak anyway? Every now and then I could smell gas coming through the vents and the dash just below the centre vents would get condensation on it. How would the gas get into the vents themselves? How do I fix this, its drving me nuts. cheers!

It was recharged with R12. That's what the sticker he put on it says. I'll get it redone if its just seals, When I did have it I noticed the smell of gas every now and then and condensation appearing on the top of the console near the vents. If that's the case, how would gas get into the vents themselves? this blows! I was looking forward to air con again

as far as i'm concerned its a no brainer... The S13. Why you'd want a non turbo R33 is beyond me. if its for insurance, get a local car and save your self the hassle of an import. Turbo is the only way to go...
