  1. oh yeah true that, some people are just slack. My old corolla ran like a (oily) dream, 22 years old sorry to jump down your throat.... maybe when I'm rich and famous i'll fork out for 6 new coil packs might help as well.
  2. good work mate, I tried the same, cleaned the air flow metre and it starts straight away! nice.....
  3. well actually dude, it is. When cars get old they have more problems. I would have thought that was obvious......the second part of your post contradicts the first. I fixed it anyway, the air flow metre was just dirty....
  4. mine takes about 5 mins to get to the middle. If it doesn't go over half I wouldn't worry although check to see the guage is not faulty in case you are over heating. If the coolant isn't boiling I think your okay.
  5. agreed. My low beam turns off when high beam goes on, its the way they are on 32s, spun me out too....
  6. hey dude, mine is doing this too...... i just cleaned the air flow metre so i'll see how it goes tomorrow morning!
  7. will try that too mate, might give the air flow metre a clean as well..... its an 89 so I guess its probably due.
  8. thanks a lot guys! yeah it disappears fully when warm. I seem to remember my old toyota doing this too now that I think about it.... good don't have to fork for a new fuel pump!! cheers fellas!
  9. its stock ECU, only exhaust and filter...... yeah I replaced one of the coil packs soon after it landed cause it was a dud..... Kinda a lucky dip with second hand coils though. It runs fine, just after start up its dodgy.... anyone know how much new coilpacks are? genuine or splitfire? anyone think it could be something else?
  10. Hey guys, My skyline (GTs-t) has done this since I got it. When you start it up for the first time in the morning it sorta struggles to idle on its own, if you give it a rev, the stepper motor kicks in and its fine from there. Then when your driving, under medium throttle it surges a fair bit. If you floor it its fine, but under some throttle pressure it stumbles and surges. Once its warm, its fine. The fuel pump isn't audible from inside the car so I'm guessing its the stocker so that could be the issue but I'd like some ideas to make sure. thanks fellas!
  11. yeah it is dude, new price on spoiler!
  12. yes the white warrior is now a fully legal citizen as off last thursday! Its been a long time coming but worth it. Next is to the panel shop for a touch up but that can wait cause i'm broke Fuel pump is also suss cause its a little surgy when cold......hmmm Nah the factory belts are fine, just make sure yours isn't missing the rear buckles like mine was! ha ha, stupid thing..... Autoworx are tops, no bullshit, my car was in and out in 2 days. Very helpful guys. highly recommend them.... :kewl:
  13. i second autoworx. Make sure you budget for unexpected stuff too like brake rotors, pads, bushings etc....... unlike me stock seat belts are fine.
  14. Hey guys, My bunky is up for sale. Specs are as follows. 1.3l 4 speed Blaupunkt CD player Sony Xplod 6x9s Boss amp MDF parcel shelf immobilser alright tyres No messing about, I want $500 firm for it. It looks okay, only rust is in the boot area and you cant see it normally. It starts first time and I've done just over 8000ks in it trouble free. Its been serviced once, timing, plugs oil etc. The clutch works fine but the thrust bearing is ****ed so it makes a racket in first gear. Not that expensive to fix. all lights and switches work fine....all the stereo gear bar the cd player was bought new 6 months ago. THe rego expires on the 19th of Jan. I don't have the cash to renew it, the line has taken it all If i end up having to renew it i'll be selling it for more so let me no! Cheers Paul - 0411143161
  15. hmmm that said I went to East Perth and they said my steering didn't return to centre fast enough. wtf? also said my BOV was too loud. Did nothing about the steering and flicked the actuator arm of the wastegate when I went back, no boost!, even got a permit for the BOV
  16. in all seriousness one of my mates got his VL resprayed in hot green for 3k. It looks perfect, no fading issues and probably perfect for a street car. I think you wouldn't have both oars in the water if you spend 10K on a paint job unless the car was strictly for show. For the road, with the potential for damage, chips, elements etc, 2-3K will get you a nice respray.
  17. hey guys, Only interested in Perth buyers so its here. Have the GTR spoiler off my R32. Chasing $100 Also the bonnet garnish, white. Might polish up okay, if not needs a respray, $20 bucks. cheers!
  18. let me sort my insurance out first DrftKng and i'll grab one of the 040s off you for sure.
  19. ummm rear spoiler. IS there another kind? PhatR32: It only has the spoiler itself, the previous owner never put the little GTR lip on it. Its a GTS-t.....
  20. I think you'll find $350 is what most shops charge for the 040 not the 044, the 044 is usually a lot more expensive.
  21. Hey guys, I am selling the GTR spoiler that came on my skyline, its still on there atm. I would be after the $150 mark for it, not sure if its aftermarket or OEM. I also have the leading edge bonnet garnish for a R32 GTR. $20 or free with spoiler purchase. anyone interested let me know, if you think its the wrong price, let me know what you're willing to pay. not willing to send interstate so Perth buyers only please! cheers
  22. well mine was near stock, 17x8 Speed star rims, 3 inch exhaust HKS filter, blitz BOV, front and rear strut braces, Tokiko shocks and springs, GTR front bar. Add all that up and it comes to heaps more then some disks and pads good value!
  23. Again, mines a GTS-t not a GTR. Mine had 114K on it. Probably genuine, all the belts are fresh from the timing belt change and the oxygen sensor is new. Mine has the usual dodgy rear window seals like most R32s and some of the other seals are a little faded, fixed them with kitten. Things I had to fix: New front disks and pads New front castor bushings New turbo to cat pipe Bonnet had rust due to GTR garnish (second hand bonnet $50) Had to re grease the bearings behind the steering wheel to fix a return to centre steering issue. hard one to diagnose!! that's it, not a lot although I suspect the fuel pump is next. I specifically chose a GTS over a GTR cause I couldn't afford to fix a bung GTR. car has been great so far, feels very tight, well happy. cheers
  24. cheers dude, maybe my head lights have been changed...... also have a light button just in front of my centre console lid.... weird.
  25. I think he means physically how far not duration. my guess would be around a centremeter given the lack of space in the wastegate area of a factory dump pipe.
