Aside from the utter bullsh*t posted above (feeling like a retard yet takushi?) How do you know if your brakes require skimming/machining? Is there a rule of thumb? It can't be just pedal feel/pulsating surely? I've got small grooves in my discs, and a small ~0.5mm raised edge on the outer circle of my discs (where the pad doesn't bite the disc) - maybe it needs skimming?

That's pretty narrow minded. "Boosting" your skyline will not kill it. Please do some research. Stock turbos can handle 14psi easily with the use of a FMIC. How much power-gain you get between 12.5psi and 14psi boost is somewhat the deciding factor. (Why run 14psi for 10 extra HP?)

Do you even HAVE a credit file? You just turned 18 so chances are it's still blank. With 6 enquiries for loans. Banks number 2-6 are probably looking at it thinking "Hmmm, wonder why the first bank didnt give him a loan" and denying your application. Go with your current bank, they can see your savings history (no other banks can) Best bet would be to get a cheap first car on a secured loan, drive it for a year, pay as much off as you can, THEN move up to an import. Unsecured 10k isn't usually hard to get at 18 with savings history.
