leave r33 harness and ecu, install r34 engine completely. you will have to resolder two connectors (vtc, idle control). old style CAS can be modified (use your imagination and angle cutter (not sure aboutt right name for this tool)) to work with r34 ex. cam. i was lucky i have latest r33 with new style hitachi CAS. everything else was straight forward i think. i`m driving enr33 with neo engine.

hi, I know that many people in AU use ACL bearings. But ACL makes sets of bearings of STD size only -- instead of several grades for STD crank which Nissan engine manual recommends. Nissan has 3 grades for standard size crank conrod bearings (STD0,1,2) and more -- for main bearings (5 grade for rb25 and 7 grades for rb26). The selection of bearings is made based on the numbers printed on the crank, block and conrods. For example -- Power Enterprize "Black Metal" bearings have this grades too. But ACL -- no grades... Or i don`t know how to order it right. Is it possible to make such a selection with ACL bearings? If no -- then how is it possible to make the right oil clearances in bearings? Thx.

hi, It will work somehow. ATF isn`t just hydraulic fluid -- it`s a gear oil too. Auto boxes have gears and they are lubricated with atf. For example Castrol Transmax-Z fluid has both Dexron and api gl4 75w80 certificats. And as Duncan said -- it is recommended to use atf in bnr34 getrag gearboxes. So ordinary box will work with atf, and worn, crunchy box will work even better -- because of low vicsosity of atf it will allow to switch gears smoothly. But the protection for teeth of the gears with atf is worse -- so, i think that using atf -- you save synchros but kill gears. The other question is how long it will take to worn a gear -- i don`t know the answer because i trust nissan engineers and use what they recommend.

Rb20det Dropping Boost. Need Some Advice.
Stronzo replied to robots's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hi, i`ve got the same problem, rb25det neo, stock turbo, no cat and stock BCNR33 exhaust. Full boost (0.85) at 2500-3000 dropping to 0.6 after 5000rpm. I played with boost-controller, especially with "gain" function with no positive results. It still dies after 5000rpm. btw my turbo is pretty noisy too -- so i have to ideas: - it`s turbo dying - stock exhaust = evil -
hi, why do you say "no ideling or cruising"? i thought the opposite -- that i have to be tender with a new engine. I will have the "first start" in a week or two. I thought that it will be good for the engine to idle for a few hours and after that -- to cruise off-boost for a few hours.

Hi, It is possible to run a car without h/c. But it is impossible to control ecu without it. If you don`t want to tune it yourself -- visit your tuner, get your powerfc tuned and forget about it. You don`t need commander for that.

hi, i`m now driving an ENR33 (rb25de not-neo from factory) with rb25det NEO (from sII WGNC34) engine. Wiring loom is left rb25de from R33, ECU was from R33 rb25det A-LSD and now it`s R33 PowerFC. Works excellent. the only thing which i`m not sure that it is working is NVCS. It is wired correctly but i`m not sure that on/off signal from R33 ecu is suitable for R34 nvcs device. I don`t feel it like in r33.

hi, i have a set of greddy gauges including exhaust temp. sensor and oil temp sensor. All are 1/8 PT (it`s slightly different from 1/8 npt). I also have a greddy sandwich plate installed under the oil filter. This sandwich plate has two 1/8pt holes for sensors but closed with plugs. Find someone who uses this sandwich plate with at least one sensor -- he must have one spare plug. Use it

it is far from straight bolt on. for non-neo rb25: rb26 injector will not fit rb25 runner. You have to make a sleeve with o-rings or sometning like that. Top feed rail is higher than sidefeed and _may_ interfere with the air regulator piping, so you will have to relocate it or put your injectors deeper.

isn`t it possible to use garrett gt2871r cartridge?

auto and manual radiators are different. at radiator got transmission oil cooling section in the bottom tank. you can use auto radiator in a manual car, but you can`t use manual radiator in auto, or you need to fit a standalone cooler for transmission oil.

oh, about the plug -- the plugs are the same, but you have to re-check that all wires are in the same places, maybe you will have to swap some.

hi, i think this is possible, not sure that it is reasonable. 1. you can rewire it to run two mafs or parallel the signal from single maf. i`m not sure about the second, but imo it is possible. 2. nvcs control @R33 is pretty easy. you just have to know rpm -- stock rb25det works at 1050-4500 from memory. i think you even can use apexi rsm to control it -- or make a standalone device. 3. you answered it yourself rb26 has two O2 sensors -- the easiest way here is to turn o2 feedback off. rb26 controls fuel pump in different way (it`s 3-stage fpcm @rb26 instead off 2-stage @rb25det). The easiest way is direct wire the fuel pump, or you can wire in rb26 fpcm unit. rb26 wants to see airtemp sensor -- there is no one @rb25 that`s all from memory. good luck. interesting to see the results.

r33 rb25de/det camshafts are the same. from 0997 exhaust shaft changed for new cas, but it`s still the same for de and det.

beware: rb26 crank, rods and pistons + rb25 block, head and stock headgasket = ~ 9.3:1 CR

hi, when we swap 4wd engines into rwd cars here -- we just cut-off front diff part from 4wd sump. already done this three times -- no problem. enr33 never was a turbo, maybe your engine is from first generation wgnc34 stagea? to swap s2 engine to s1 car you have to change ignitor (there is no one @s1), coils, maf, tps. If you are really unlucky and you have latest s2 with hitachi CAS (black plastic case) -- then you have to change CAS and exhaust camshaft.

Attessa Manual Locking
Stronzo replied to exXU1's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had a problem installing powerfc to my enr33 -- the problem was locked e-ts clutch because of constant 4.5v at tps output pin @powerfc. So give e-ts control unit constant 4.5v at this pin and see if it helps. -
Front Drive Shaft Seal
Stronzo replied to tacker's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
38342-03V00- oil seal for right front driveshaft. 38342-03V10- same for the left. 38189-03V00- oil seal fron diff pinion drive. -
tomei states rb25de + 1.8mm 87mm headgasket will have 8.9:1 CR Link: http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...B25_gasket.html From tomei info i think stock gasket is ~ 1.1mm. p.s. I`ve measured used stock rb25 gasket taken out of an engine and got 1.3mm. Funny. Maybe my measurement tool is not precise.

i`m not 100% sure about hnr32, but there is a problem in enr33. Since all controlling signals between eccs ans abs/e-ts control unit are the same in r32 and r33 -- i think that hnr32 will have the same problem: 2wd ecu and also power fc generates wrong signal (or maybe no signal in some versions) for pin 56 if i remember correctly. That`s TPS output signal. There is a simple solution for this problem from paulr33 for power fc + A-LSD ECR33 (a-lsd requires tps output too). However this solution did not work for me (tps signal divided and both ecu and e-ts cu get only a half of signal). So my friend made an electronic device for me. All i know is that it is called "voltage follower" and it uses LM358 microchip. I also have a photo. Works fine, i`m using ecr33 power-fc for a several months with it in my enr33 turbo. p.s. without this device ecr33 powerfc give constant +4.5v @pin 56. This result in fulltime lock of attesa multiplate clutch -- hard cornering, parking etc.
