  1. If you see the link in my post above you'll see you need to drill a hole in the base to let the charge out, and install a schraeder valve to be able to refill it (if you don't have the bilstein specialty tools, which of course we don't).
  2. Post the P/N on the ECU (should be something like 23710-xxxxx) and it can be checked in the parts database to see what its off.
  3. Shocks are there to control the springs. If you have a stiffer spring, you need more damping to control it. That's my basic understanding of it all. I have found this pretty simple, but helpful detail on some 'home style' rebuild on a Bilstein monotube shock: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2415915 I'm trying to reserach and learn as much as i can about it as i really want to increase my knowledge of it all, but as you say, it seems to be a bit of a black art and sometimes the specialist tools required can make things harder. I also found seraching on youtube for shock rebuild videos came in very handy for a wide variety of different types of shocks. One person on youtube has over 700 videos of just shock rebuilds, mainly for ohlins motorbike shocks.
  4. ?Have you got 1 damaged headlight (hence listing only 3)? i'm after a smashed headlight (read cheap to expirement on) with semi-intact internals and semi-intact plastic backing. doesn't matter if the glass is destroyed just as long as the projectors aren't totally fubar and the plastic backing that bolts into the car isn't in 4 pieces. Cheers.
  5. Yes its about 15 mins north of parramatta. Please let me know if you can get here to pick them up during the week. If my location is too far from MANWHORE and he backs out they're all yours.
  6. 4x 205/50/16 RE55S semi slicks. compound: hardest. ("SR") Used for circuit work on a FWD pulsar. Have got inner edge camber wear (3.5deg neg + toe out kills tyres, but handles good!) and a bit of outer edge roll wear. Centres of the tread are pretty good (well above the wear markers on most). Thses would deally suit something without big camber for thrashing around. Price and conditions: $50 FOR ALL 4 TYRES AS IS, you take 1, you take them all. No flatspots. 2 left, 2 right, i.e matched set. Postage: No postage. This is a *pickup only in Cherrybrook* deal. Must be picked up by next weekend at the latest. First come first served, don't just PM me, post a reply in the thread so people know that they have gone. Pictures: attached. Hopefully someone doing some drifting or or a grip event will get some use out of these. i found it a waste to throw them out knowing there were people out there who would certainly get some use out of them, even if they only last 1 event, they're cheap and will certainly provide fun.
  7. Thanks mate, appreciate the comment a lot. Can't believe your luck with the screw in the tyre though!
  8. Yeh, hi, that's video from my car (the white SSS)... I was getting a little frustrated (actually was going to chop the swearing out, but figured i'd leave it in as i'm sure that other people had the same thoughts, but no camera in their car). Main reason i was cursing was i also suffered the same deal in previous sessions where cars on the straight decided to show me a clean set of heels, only to have my SSS on their tail at the braking zone for turn one. After 1 lap of holding back, i decided to make my car clearly seen in his mirrors, at which point he did let me pass cleanly which was good. What was frustrating was that the exact situation was clearly covered in the drivers briefing, but it seems that there were definately a few poeple not listening. lol. Was a great day, so many tasty cars.
  9. nah that's cool mate i didn't read it in that way that you were slagging the driver, i see your point.
  10. -The GTI-R was given permission by the mashall of pit lane, he's an experienced driver and, as i did at one stage, had to ASK the controller if the straight was clear for me to go as being strapped in with a harness and the pit wall, you simply can't see what is coming. -Flag marshalls was an issue which i asked during the driver briefing where they would be, only to be given a smart reply of "if you see a flag, then the flag point is manned". -Blue SSS was my mate Adam, the car has got TEIN Flex coilovers, some nice other whiteline gear and Toyo Semi slicks, so its not exactly a stocker, but the pulsars handle very well, just without a turbo don't have the poke down the straight to pull past the more powerful cars, but the lap time at the end of the day shows the real score. Was an awesome day, and like some others have mentioned, the track felt a little slow as i didn't manage to break my time that i did there last time, but the car did feel much better this time around, but a good day was had, look forward to the next one. Simon.
  11. its been done with excellent results on factory compression ratio. The issue you'll have is blowing 3rd gear and traction without an LSD.
  12. probably some kind of commodore has rotors that big and thick.
  13. yeh its weird, but they are definately different companies, as mentioned the D2 on the race car is a phone company.
  14. Notch up another happy customer here. Thanks mate. Construction guide was excellent (bar a few fuzzy pics, but was easy enough to figure out what was being said). Worked first go, excellent work.
