I bought a spare clockset (Cheers VJ) to modify in order to fit my new AIM dash but want to integrate it with the std layout. My plan was to remove the speedo/rev/oil press gauge and graft the new funky AIM dash in. I have disassembled the clockset and found a chip on the pcb.
Can anybody tell me what functions this chip controls?
I am hoping that its to do with the LCD odometer only...fingers crossed!
I am only wanting to retain all the std warning lights plus the fuel and water temp gauges.
I had initially considered etching a new pcb for the clocks but there are plenty of tiny surface mount components plus its a solid pcb on the 34 clocks and not a blue plastic flexy no component pcb like on 32s and 33s. Its still an option but I am hoping I can just etch a "baby board" to replace the circuits I will break when I remove some of the board in order to gain rear clearance for the new digital dashs connectors.
Any advice gratefully received.
