  1. Hi All, Been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd give you an update on the Wags. Rego was coming up fast and I couldn't figure out what the big knock in the suspension was so I ended up ordering a set of BC BR's because it seems like the easiest option. Between ordering and them arriving I slipped a couple discs in my back and had to get a mechanic to do the install. After telling him a few times I really didn't want it any lower He set the rear about an inch off full height of the coilovers and levelled the front to match. This is at least an inch lower than it was. I was already scrapping the rear bar getting in my driveway, so I wasn't looking forward getting in the yard, but damn, she looked pretty good. After beating the exhaust and the rear bar a few times I thought putting a sleeper along the driveway might help and for a couple days it did. Until I went on a bit too much of an angle and kicked the sleeper up. So um. If anyone has a rear bar going cheap... Otherwise I'm going to have to learn how to fibreglass in a hurry.
  2. Thanks man!
  3. Have you got them on yet mate? I'm looking to put Z Brembos on my M35 too.
  4. Little update... The guys at MCA said the front rotors are glazed and the rears need machining. I did a run to Canberra on the weekend and noticed the balancing of the wheels was horrendous. Anything over 110 the steering wheel was shaking like crazy, could also feel the rear vibrating the entire car. A quick visit to my old tyre fitter in Canberra and she was way better on the ride home. It also seemed to reduce the amount of vibration/shuddering while braking. Anyone heard of feeling bad balance while braking? Regardless, still looking at better brakes After chatting to the guy I used to get my Subaru parts from who has also since switched to a Stagea, I've thinking front and rear Brembos from a 350Z. I know they're not as big up front as the GTR, but surely they're still a fair upgrade from the stock M35 kit? The shocks are also definitely shagged, but I've got no idea which way I'll end up going there???
  5. Lol, i should hit seller up for a commission. If it works I'll shout you a beer
  6. Thanks Cobber, I've just ordered one too
  7. Thanks for the brake info Darkmeat, exactly what I needed! Is it worth running the R34 2 pot rears? Not just because they look shit hot, surely the extra 4mm diameter would help a little? I've run HEL braided lines on every car I've had for almost 10 years now. Even my wife's dead stock Outback got a set of slotted DBA's and HEL lines to help slow things down when towing. Great to hear from someone running the BCs'. I've had them before and they did exactly what I wanted them, steer. I saw a lot of people talking them up here, specifically on Stageas, but I know a lot of people chase pure performance over any sort of comfort (I know I used to), so wasn't sure. I'm still leaning towards Bilsteins, although being able to adjust the ride height is handy! I'll chat with the guys at MCA when she's in this week and see what they recommend, but until then would love to hear anyone else's experiences coilovers -v- Billies -v- KYBs.
  8. Cool, I'll throw a set of bigger brakes on at sometime, but would rather not have to do it a week or two after buying it. That's good to know. I keep telling myself I'll be sensible with this car, so I reckon I'll steer clear of coilovers.
  9. I bought an M35 last week and after trolling the forums all weekend I have a couple newb questions about brakes and suspension.... Looks like I'm running stock brakes at the moment and when I brake the car will shudder quite a bit, I haven't been able to get the car in the air yet, but I'm assuming it's warped rotors. I'm a why replace when you can upgrade sort of guy and from hunting around the boards it seems the 350z calipers and are a straight bolt on apart from possibly needing wheel spacers? Are there any specifics I need to know? Year range, model variants etc? I've also noticed a clunk in the suspension somewhere, looking at the notes from a service last year the mechanic said the was a knock in front shocks, so I'm assuming I'll be up for new suspension very soon. This is going to be my daily school bus/shopping trolley (got motorbikes for when I want to go proper fast), so I don't want it to be too stiff. I've seen a lot of people here recommend BC coilovers. I ran the V1's in my RS Liberty with Whiteline everything and even on the softest damper setting it was still quite hard (To be fair I'd stripped a lot of weight out of the RS, could have something to do with it?). Is any sort of ride comfort possible int he Stagea with the BC's? Or should I look at getting some Bilsteins with circlip grooves machined into them? She's booked in at a good mechanic late next week for a proper going over, but I'd love to have a bit of info myself before then. Anyway I guess I should post some pics.
  10. Congrats on the sale, I did look at this one on car sales, but you were too far away. Just wondering if you got, or know how to get the english conversion on the screen?
  11. Actually, I just looked at the photo of the rims, looks like there's a fair bit of room for bigger disks, might be stuck with the Impuls for a while.
  12. Cheers, good to know they're quality. Looks like the clearcoat is starting to come off. Not sure whether I'll fix them or replace them long term? It'll probably depend on what brakes fit under what wheels in the end, but I've always loved Ray's TE37s or Gram Light 57CRs... or Work Emotion D9Rs... Shiiiiit, so many wheels!!! But, If the Impuls are good and let me run bigger brakes I guess the wheel upgrades can wait and I can spend the coin on other things
  13. Cheers. Sure, here's a few more after a wash. What's everyone think of the Impul wheels? Being new to Nissan's I've never heard of them, but a quick google seems to say they're good. Other than the yellow centre caps which I'll get rid of soon, I'm happy enough with the look of them. They're not TE37's though. I haven't had a good look around the forums yet, but if anyone can point me to a post or two to get me started would be great to not look like a full newb
  14. Hi all, I just bought a NM35, thought I'd sign up to the forums and say hi. Can't say I know much about Stageas yet, but she seems pretty mint so far. Got a bit of a knock in one shock, a leaking rocker cover and shudders a fair bit when braking hard, but hopefully that's all easy fixes. Booked in to MRC for a good check over. The guy that imported it reckons it's had no mods since it arrived, it's got Impul wheels, pedals and stickers, I think the front bar is the Impul kit??? Anyone know how to find out if thr ECU is stock or Impul? (other than a Max speed test!) Anyway, here's a couple pics.
