Hi SK, I can't find the SAF-SA; the only diff fluid listed on Castrol site is SAF-XA is this the one to go for in the diff? Cheers

Got it from my Aus R32 owner's manual. I don't see why it would be any different for the 33... will scan up the page when I get a chance if you want I only discovered this when I had the light come on (and stay on until the car cooled) at the track last year and the oil pressure gauge was still up. Stressed I'd done a big end, but sounded fine after cooling. I actually didn't go to the manual then, but after removing the 3 centre gauges and replacing with 3 defi gauges subsequently, the light stayed permanently on. From here I suspected that the oil temp would trigger the light too, so I checked the manual and that's what it said sorry for the ramble

I was away all weekend and missed it Though from your pics Tharaka, no phat 350z's?? disappointing

FYI people, that red light on a GTR also comes on when the oil temp reaches a preset limit ~130 degrees...

Hi SK, what sort of spring rates would you recommend to start with for a R32GTR? A little heavier than GTSt I imagine, say 450 and 300lbs? PS running semis

yep I think that's what happened. Shock reco have actually removed the inserts from the alu body and told me they've put in a bilstein "strut insert"...? like this I guess inside the alu body:

Hi SK, I've previously had my Kei Office coil overs rebuilt with Koni inserts, and destroyed the Koni inserts... Consequently I'm having Bilstein inserts fitted to the coil over bodies as below: i see your picture includes a part of your feet too!

I hope these bilsteins are a bit of all right - just getting inserts fitted to the bodies of my 32GTR front coil overs now...!

Would have liked to see a pic of my front rotors at the end of the front straight at sandown when I ran out of brakes!

umm rightio that's still a pretty big philosophical shift for BMW... yielding to MB's and Audi's supercharged / turbocharged cars I guess to keep up with the kilowatt count wars in Germany

Umm.... did none of you realise that this a diesel engine? Diesel engines have differing emission requirements to petrol engines. BMW do not do turbo petrol engines, it is philosophically against the "M" car ethos. And before you start flaming me, yes, I know that they did the 2002 turbo.

Dan, should keep away from tap water too... should only use distilled water. I think the alloy radiators are even pickier so maybe get benno to flush the coolant system and refil with alloy radiator friendly coolant
