  1. OK i apologize and stand corrected, but why would TRUST sell end tanks alone? They must be a "replica" of a TRUST end tank surely? It would not make economical sense to allow a on-seller to put a core between their end tanks - there must be interlectual property and copyright etc involved somewhere with that
  2. sHorty: New? unlikely. Genuine? possibly. Hot? Likely. No offense, but genuine Trust/Apexi/AVO stuff starts at 1500 for the whole kit, maybe a bit less at trade. Additionally, i'm fairly sure Trust don't make or sell separate end tanks, nor would AVO just sell the core. Why? To protect their name from badly assembled hack-togethers. Is the core stamped with AVO? Are the end tanks stamped with TRUST? Or did the person selling it just tell you that? Again i don't mean to offend; as long as the cooler does its job you got a great deal regardless of the make/manufacture. I am waiting for an ARE cooler from QLD to come in about 2 weeks. I went with them (even though they are a bit dearer than other locals, but cheaper than a jap cooler) because they have a product that appears to be extensively researched and tested. As rb20-calais mentioned, they are renowned for quality of manufacture and performance. Bottom line is i know where the cooler is from and want to support the local industry.
  3. if you are interested, just let them know that you are from SAU. He just wants to make sure that you are legitamately from SAU - get one of the moderators from WA section to vouch for you.
  4. ITS YOUR CAR! Do what you like.
  5. i don't think he appreciated us telling him he was old... hahahahah
  6. EBCs have digital boost readings too... so you don't have to have a separate gauge. Additionally Trust Profec B Spec II's have a warning when overboosting, so its function does the same as a electronic boost gauge with warning
  7. 21 you old bastard. Happy Birthday mate.
  8. Wiktor, have a look at this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=20624 It may help (can't remember because i haven't re-read the whole thread)

    wheel repair

something must be modified (either the hubs or the wheels themselves shaved) because stocker R34 GTR rims will stick out about 2cm.
  10. Seeing that the RB25 box is fairly common and would likely be put through a fair bit of punishment on tuned cars, aren't there strengthened synchros available? Reason being if you're going to spend the x-dollars on rebuilding the bugger you'd want it to last more than another 50,000k's. And again, i'm another skyline owner with stuffed 1-2 and 2-3 synchros... (they're not so much stuffed that they crunch, but they bauk quite badly when cold and it doesn't go away completely when warm) even redline isn't really enough
  11. use that nice button labelled "SEARCH" in the top right. There has been a big thread on this already.
  12. its getting even harder to whore now, as i see that the minimum time between successive posts is now 180sec rather than 30sec... hmmm
  13. hey, have a look at ARE www.are.com.au they do custom oil coolers. I am waiting for an intercooler from them, should come late next week
  14. I have a late '95, and bought it without knowing it was a bit of a frankenstein... the ECU is sweet - seems to 'learn' a bit better than the S1 or S2s... BTW, what should i look for with the AFM? How is it different? I know i don't have the igniter box on top of the coil cover, which supposedly makes it a S2 motor (correct??!?!)
  15. just get a custom front facing or greddy plenum and run a 90mm throttle - it'd be alot easier and probably around the same money. Just look up JimX's custom front facing intake photos oh, and nice to see a few more ppl from skylines stockholm joining us on the forums! welcome!
  16. ahh, and the last great uncatalysed smell of burnt fuel passes away. Still miss the smell of uncatalysed leaded - probably didn't do much for the brain cells though
  17. Bikes don't need a cat by law because basically they don't fit on there. But i'm sure that as emissions rules tighten, and the technology to manufacture smaller and more efficient cats comes closer, new bikes will require a cat.
  18. Thanks Funkey, i'm going to ring them this morning, and if they really want some sort of proof i'll PM ya

    wheel repair

LastTemptation R34 GTR rims do not fit R33 GTS-ts, that is why not many R33s have them (except on R33 GTRs)

    wheel repair

hey dan have you had an odd set of rims on your car - ie. different fronts and rears? Isn't that illegal? Any tyre shop should be able to put you onto a wheel repairer - i know that "The Mag Wheel Shop" in Richmond (i think) does repairs, but may be pricy cos they do BBS, Simmons, Kahn rims
  21. Coco, all prices are on their site: www.are.com.au i'm looking at a bar/plate 'evo hot chilli' FMIC; return pipe to front facing intake plenum
  22. anyone nice enough to do that /winks at anyone and everyone/
  23. i had a cat-out pipe for a while. It will spool the turbo faster, but doesn't really do much for emissions. You are likely to only gain about 2-5rwkW so bugger it. And a gutted cat will likely flow worse than a hi-flow and hence make less power; as has been said it slows the velocity of the exhaust and causes more turbulence around the empty cat. Just get a highflow from BATMBL and be done with it - i have and am very happy with it.
  24. Umm... as above really. I don't have webspace, so is there any other way? sweet.
  25. Yeah, thats a good idea... Maybe if i send them a pic of me in my SAU t-shirt hahahaha
