seriously, have the muffler at the back, and put a small resonator in the centre section between the cat and rear section - otherwise it will be too boomy in the car. 3" is plenty. This combo will be plenty loud enough, enough for you to be hassled by the EPA
HKS (or apex'i, can't remenber which) have a butterfly valve you can put into your exhaust (say between the cat and rear section) which can be adjusted inside the car. So when you have to keep it quiet, close the butterfly, otherwise keep it open. I'll try and find the link.
forget that pred, pull the engine out, swap your RB25 with it and give JET a run! bahahahahah
but seriously, can anyone tell me, if you bought this car, could it be brought into aus as 'parts' if you pull out the motor etc?
Wont be there thrs, damn working at nights... I'll be there on the weekend too if we need any more help
thanks Dale, can ya pick me up a set of them SAU stickers too, Cheers
maybe the result of some Frankenstein cut-n-shut job? Does it have the front flared guards?
Check the hub/brake assemblies
4 stud, small front calipers = non turbo
5 stud, big front calipers = turbo
However these can obviously be changed
Diff size? does anyone know if the non turbo has a smaller diff than the turbo?
Dash - does it have factory boost under the tacho?
Sounds weird, but i wouldn't mind the F-A-T rear end on my GTS-t
Oh, Turbo/non turbo computer - i assume that getting the exact code on the ECU and even going to a nissan dealer you should be able to figure out its origins. I know nunawading nissan parts can get access to jap records of cars and codes.
Bah, V8 supercars are cool, but they are about as much Holden commodore V8 or Ford falcon V8 as my skyline... they both run american engines anyway, and apart from the body shell about 0% are aussie based. Oh and i believe we have created another Ford/Holden abuse thread
the stock gauges / senders read low, regardless of what oil you use (i have tried many viscosities) when warm. I have an aftermarket Trust oil press gauge and when i'm revving it the stock gauge reads just over 4, but the trust one is at about 6-7. Don't worry too much, @ idle the stock reads about 1, the Trust one at 1.5.
Don't look at peak torque. You have to look at both power graphs, and determine the total area under them. The higher of the two is the 'torquer' engine.
i have a card of a guy who was doing a porsche in my street, i was going to get him to do mine but i have no $$...
When i find the card i'll give you the details. His work looked good.
