  1. WTF is with people continually talking about "less back pressure" and "losing low down torque" on turbo motors with big exhausts?? This is simply untrue. The exhaust wheel is more resistance and will be the limiter of "back pressure" on the head, the exhaust will not affect back pressure at the head. On a turbo car the bigger the exhaust the better (within reason). In answer to your question - different material exhausts sound different. as a general rule, if you keep the design of the exhaust the same, ie same diameter, same number of like resonnators etc, 1. titanium will be raspy and loud 2. stainless will be resonnant and mid volume 3. mild steel will be bassy and boom more this is merely because the heavier material will damp the volume and affect the resonnace within the exhaust pipe itself.
  2. recommended fit for r32 is 18x9.5 +22 offset; the +12 offset is for R33/34 that said people have put a +12 on R32 but I believe the wheel will protrude outside of the guards a little.
  3. they are both pants.
  4. in before locking
  5. standalone what? company? is it called "RB26 Standalone Pty Ltd? what is the question? perhaps make your statements understandable? standalone bookcase? standalone ECU?
  6. wrecker is the way. check out the stickies in the vic section.
  7. you know that a bleed valve can be used or the factory solenoid. remember that turbos do not create "boost"; they just push air. It is the restriction through the pipes and head that is "boost"; "boost" is merely a measure of resistance. the turbos themselves do not see "mismatched boost" they spin happily away and jointly create the airflow that the cylinders see. if one wastegate opens slightly earlier than the other, it should not create a pulse, as it just means the volume of air provided by one turbo is now limited; consider that a motor with one blown ceramic wheel still makes "boost" as there is still one turbo pressurising the air.
  8. if the heat has burnt the paint - nothing will help. if it is exhaust residue, i've used metho to get it off... just need some TLC and time to rub it all off
  9. Yep, offending someone trying to help you understand is going to get you more help. What everyone here is saying is: 1. 2 intake modifications = ILLEGAL 2. a carbon cover on the pod is still a intake modification therefore ILLEGAL and defectable 3. fitting a stock airbox and modifying it to fit is the most LEGAL and appropriate route to sort out your defect. If you don't want advice, why do you post here???
  10. think it's a bumper off job... oh no
  11. nah see in your second pic through the duct there is a plastic thing that looks like little squares of chocolate? that's the resonnator (see pic) that runs up into the bottom of the airbox AFAIK and keeps intake noise down or something... lol mine was full of water so we binned it lol
  12. slippery, did you have to make some changes to the factory airbox lid to fit the Greddy hard pipes? mine fouls the box also see you still have the resonnator in the front guard - any reason?
  13. hello??
  14. 18x9.5 or 18x9, Justin? The title says 9, the text says 9.5 these look hot!
  15. R34 is around the same weight as an R33. it makes more power. therefore, the power to weight is higher. therefore, it is illegal to drive on Ps in Victoria. while Vicroads might not have updated their records yet, it won't take long. shouldn't this be in the vic section?
  16. illegal. *waits for thread to be locked*
  17. you talking about the 8pots?
  18. does it chirp 3rd
  19. how about people don't speed or run red lights on the street? take it to the track
  20. were people madly collecting water in wheelie bins??
  21. unlikely - the 33 is probably wider, plus it has the 'arm' sections that reach all the way up to the rear windscreen.
  22. misread your first post, yeah what i was saying is stick to a 225 or 235 and no larger in the front.
  23. they are work emotion CR-Kai... a trader on here sells em http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/.../emt-k1p-2.html
  24. take it out, go down to the local autocrap, match it, done. easy peasy lemon sqeezy.
  25. That's becaust the information it's wrong. Std wheels are all the same size 16x7... why would nissan make a 3mm different offset and 1inch difference in width for a wheel that looks identical, and is applied to Skyline, Silvia, Maxima etc? It would be a manufacturing and assembly nightmare!! PS stick to a 235 in the front, 265 in the rear - a 255 will require guard rolling in the front and will very likely scrub and fould alot in a 19 on an R33
