if it's just a noise test - to an EPA approved exhaust shop. full epa - emissions test, inspection of modifications etc... so 1 intake mod, factory ECU, factory turbos etc etc big funs.

no offence, but fark that. I'm beginning to get sick of 'alleged' police picking on import cars... but at the same time I'm getting sick of hearing "oh i got defected / EPA those bastards etc" FFS if your car is modified, too low, too loud etc then it is illegal. Exactly the same as when a BMW is loud, lowered, etc it will DRAW ATTENTION. "TUNED BY FULLY SICK MATE" in 2 foot stickers on your window will attract attention... It is something that you have to live with; if you modify it's in your hands. I hope you don't get EPA'd - I have, but it's a risk you run and you should know that when modifying.

projectors are the solution... too often I see HID kits, like dan has mentioned, that are the wrong K rating... this just makes your eyes tired after driving and dazzles other people. furthermore, when these HID kits (not all, mind you) are installed, often they aren't adjusted correctly and spray light everywhere, blinding everyone around you... more of a danger than anyone else. like dan said, unfortunately you are trying to engineer reflectors that were never designed to take a HID globe and you'll get massive light flare... but on your topic - if it's the right kit for your car, it should just be a case of replace the existing globes, and mount the ballasts somewhere safe, change the plugs over.... and hours work in it tops

nah al, any part that protrudes beyond factory bodywork is illegal... eg where a "T" style wing protrudes either side of the bodywork it is illegal. there used to be all the regulations on the vicroads website, but the buggers have taken them off or I can't find them anymore.

share the sentiments of the car being off the road.... But even when it's back, it will be fcuked to get around in... will definitely have to invest in a quiet exhaust BUT can you all hear that? that's the sound of your coins rushing out of your pockets are the value of your cars depreciate... Who's going to buy a skyline now?!
