    I was told by first auto electrician that the earth for the “up” part of the switch wasn’t working but it was a good earth going down if that makes sense

    It’s been tested and it worked, I ordered a new one just in case and that worked fine, I put it in the car and it still wouldn’t go up, only down. The motor is fine, relay fine then I don’t know, I’ll try what ADMS15 suggested and see what happens because I can only now put it down to wiring

    Probably a stupid question but would you know which wire to apply the 12v too?

    I have a 1993 R33 gtst skyline My passenger side window has stopped working, it goes down but not up I have bought another switch, didn't work, new motor and relay which also didn't work. Took to auto elec and he reckons its been wired to suit a dodgey switch and can't handle a new switch. I recently found that the earth wire for my boot fuse box had been rubbing against my subwoofer box and the wires were showing which earthed out my headlights, so could this be the problem causing my windiw issue? Any ideas on causes apart from this? And how can i manually wind up my window as its sitting down a bit from having window switch tested and it wouldn't go back up (I've disconnected motor)
