The Trueno turned out to be a AE92 Trueno Never trust a women, no idea. I have been doing some reading, the CA18det sounds like a good idea Craved, have you got much further with yours I have read your other posts about the conversion, It does not look too hard Will the handbrake be fine in that location for daily use? Why did you make a custom inlet plenum? Performance gain or install requirment. Have you got many more pic's Any more info would be great other option is NA sr20de and 5 speed.

This example happened to me yesterday. It sort of answers your question I have a 33 GTST using a Power Fc and base map tune. On optimax fuel or BP ulitmate it gets a max knock reading of approx 45 Yesterday was out of town, running low on fuel, I put in some "premium" fuel from a matilda sevro only $15 to get home First time I got up the car, knock went 125! First thing this morning filled up at shell on Optimax, knock stays below 45

I am having a look at buy another ae86 this afternoon genuine import Trueno twin cam, P/steer, P/window, pop up head lights, disk brake LSD rar end, digital dash, white, 5 speed, air cond. complied approx 2 years ago 56,000km?? Has minor damage to front right corner needs bonnet, head light and guard Price $1500 ono Had a look at toymods site, these things sell for approx $7000-12000. Should be a bargin.

Driving to work today, I looked across and saw a R33 GTST in Ford blueprint Then I relised it was my reflection in the shop window.

I gave up tring to find someone who was confident to tune mine R33 So I sold it, and just fitted a Power FC like all the other cows in the heard. Try mercury motorsport, they have done a few.

Went to a SAU club BBQ a few weeks ago There was a AE86 there with a RB25DET and GT3540 turbo Was a pretty tight fit in the engine bay.

I just saw on toymods a group buy for gearbox bell housing adaptors to fit w55 box to 4a motors, so it must be an issue with the weaker T50 box as you mentioned I may have to read a bit more on this I was also thinking about painting the AE86 Ford blueprint to match my R33 Are going to do the same?

The gearbox should be OK The 20v only has about 120kw at the engine and not alot of torque 13 years ago i had a TA22 celica with a worked over 3TG twincam a that had more power and torque than the 20V. They use the same gearbox. That box lasted over 2 years of constant thrashing (I was 19 It did eventually break 2nd gear. Went of the wreakers and bought another $250 g/box If I was to turbo the 20v then i would start to be worried about the box.

I have not started looking for a engine yet My blacktop 20V in a front cut and auto box with 13,000km cost me $1850 about 6-7 years ago. Was only about a 12 month old motor at the time. It took me 6 years to get the MR2 on the road (got married and bought a house ) Silver tops are anywhere from about $600-700 plus I will probably use the box that is in the car and just get a complete 20v with ecu and afm for approx $1000

Looks like I will be getting a daily driver AE86 and leaving the r33 gtst in the garage AE86 comes with met brown faded and flaking paint, white bonnet, rust in the tail gate and a blown head gasket Has 5 speed and Air cond $300 Have not decided what engine to put in My last car was a AW11 MR2 with black top 20v and motec M4 but cost got too high. I think I will put a 20V silver top and factory ECU.

I have a genuine Hybrid r33 gtst kit Has been on the car for over 18 months The piping finish is a problem When they advertise "polished piping" what they forget to say it is chrome plated alloy piping which flakes off after about 6 months. Looks like crap. If you are after a complete kit for $1000 try uniquie autosports, they now have $999 kits to suit all cars, with australian made mandral bent alloy piping and chinese coolers
