I have decided to build a new R34 fronted Stagea, but for drift this time Have purchased the body already built, just needs paint and a new chasiss. Hopefully have it in the next week I might try to make a replica off my street car http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-1-10-DRIFT-BO...=item19be134cd6 My son has spare chasiss already, but lucky enough for me my parents use to own a hobby shop for last 13 years, now my ex brother in law owns it. Cheap parts

A few points to consider when picking wider wheel widths. They will all affect the fitment. 1. Tyre size 2. Ride height 3. Camber 4. Tyre stretch My car for example. Has series 2 manual rear cradle out of a 'S' in it. 1. 245/35x19's 2. 330mm 3. approx 2deg neg on the rear Wheel size 19x9.5 +12 With this combination I have approx 10mm inner clearance to shocks and I cannot fit my little finger in between the outer tyre and the guard. Maybe 5-7mm clear. They never rub. I am looking at reducing the neg camber to approx 0.5 so I will need to roll the guards. It will also increase the inner clearance to the strut. 245's are a little stretched on 9.5's. Will be worst on 10's. You could get 10's to fit with streched tyres and and some camber with minimum rim outside the guards. All depends what look you want. Personally I would stay to max of 9.5's, but everyone is different.

After 13-14 month wait they turned up last week. I have tried a quick fit and they fit like shit. Not too happy with them Will be a couple of weeks before I get time to refit and rework them. -

Queensland SAU club charity cruise sometime middle of November aswell. They are yet to confirm final date. So once I know will try and make them 2 weeks apart -
Looking at planning another Queensland meet and cruise before xmas. People are noramally too busy in December so this time it will be in November and probably on a Sunday. About time we went north again, so venue and route yet to be determined Expression of interest. Throw some suggestions for route and final venue I am thinking maybe finish at either Bribie Island or Mooloolaba beach/park somewhere. Maybe a route west of highway to find some hills Once we have final date and venue, I will get this first post edited with details

If anyone is serious, talk to Arron from Importmonster He just sold his car to re shell a crashed race car, so his old motor is for sale and I am sure you could chase up the wrecked one for the remaining parts like wiring, plastic bits and pieces etc. -
Anyone Other Than Justcar?
darrinspencer replied to SMOKEYV35's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You are old Noel I am suprised they covered your street/track car. Have you got a mod plate for the Rb30? Are they legal in QLD? I think I might head down that track. My car is a 1998 mod if that matters -

Victoria Point, southside Turbo's are used, appear to be OK. Being s/hand they might last 5min or 5 years. who knows Not really keen to split the harness, perfer to keep with main harness if possible. -
Another R35 Fronted Stagea
darrinspencer replied to msports180's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Check out Japn yahoo for second hand. Parts are cheaper than R34 gtr's. Easy to get front end bits due to people upgrading to carbon bonnets and fancy front bars. Front bar approx $200 Bonnet $300-400 Have seen head lights on SAU for $1200-1500 each My R34 front cost me $4500 in s/hand parts alone. -
R34 Gtr Brembos Compared To Evo Brembos?
darrinspencer replied to smithers's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I did a fair bit of research on these a few weeks ago. EVO 8 & 9 fronts use a 330x32mm disc Evo 10 fronts use a 355x32mm disc Used set of 4 calipers approx $750-800 delivered from US ebay. A set here usually sell for a bit more approx $1000 Custom made 2 peice rotor size 340-355mm x 32mm with hats suit $330+gst each Custom made adaptor (dogbones) $250-300 front only Braid lines to suit $120-200 front only Most the calipers at this cheaper price have paint problems so will need to repaint them first. More cost GTR disc are 324x30mm thick, so not really usable. I looked at a set of front the other day and they are pretty big. I have 19x9.5 Rays GT-c's and they would probably not fit over a 355m disc due to a couple of reasons. The wheels being 2 peice have a set of nuts around the inside that will foul the caliper. Plus they are a "B" disc rim The Brembo pad shape is fairly square opposed to a long rectangle pad like AP or similar, so this makes the brembo caliper quite bulky. I decided in the end, when I get around to it, I can get a 6 piston Ap design copy caliper (not chinese made) with custom rotors, hats, apdators and braided lines fully fitted to suit my wheels for $2400 drive in drive out from BHSS in Brisbane So do your research before you try them. -
Condisering Forging My Stag....
darrinspencer replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Neo's have different pistons to non neo rb25's due to smaller combustion chamber in the head Since you are in Adelaide, stay local talk to Lewis engines. http://www.lewisengines.com.au/webcontent5.htm http://www.lewisengines.com.au/webcontent6.htm http://www.lewisengines.com.au/prod6.htm Try Spool Imports in QLD for parts and some good info on their site They have done a few Neo's now Alot more headaches and cost with rb30. Sump adaptors, extra height, exhaust and inlet mods, legal etc. Neo's have gtr/rb26 rods all ready and good for 500hp, have bigger valves than gtr heads. plus have VCT. I would not port and polish the head, unless pushing past 500hp. Save your money. -
Spotted this GTR up for auction in NT in a few weeks time Might interest someone on here http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/vehicle/...2018031/lotid-0 I bought a series 4 RX7 in the same conditon about 15 years ago from auction. Pretty much needed a fully dressed front cut to get ALL the bits needed to fix it.

R34 Gtr Brembos Compared To Evo Brembos?
darrinspencer replied to smithers's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hvae a search in the brake section, plenty of info They do not bolt on. The Evo front brembo's have larger pistons and external line. Much better caliper than the GTR ones. -
