Stagea Has Finally Arrived
darrinspencer replied to Big Fella's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Don't waste your money on the iridium plugs, just use standard ones for $12-14 a set and change them a bit more often Cars that have iridium plugs that sit around for a few months esp in car yards or waiting to be exported, the plugs get fouled up due to running for short periods of time due to being very rich when cold. Gap them to 0.8mm -
Your momo wheel did come from a r34, but then again, the same momo fits over 5-6 different nissan models around the same age.

Importer Monster should have a white one. In Melbourne as well.

18x8.5 +12 extend 50mm. . . .I think you meant 18x9.5 +12 18x8.5 +12 will EXTEND by 37mm I assume you are using something like this to work out offsets http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp 18x8.5 +20 only extends out 29mm My offer still stands to try my rims.

Rb26 head has no advantage over the neo head. But the neo does over the 26 head. VCT 26 inlet is better being ITB I have been reading up on rb30's a fair bit lately, and few have quoted the neo head being the better option I think most people go either way because if you own a gtr they already have the 26 head. My case, I have a neo 25 to pull apart. If you have a r33 rb25 head you have the least best option. But all will do job well. I have spent a fair few $ already on the turbo and inlet plenum, injectors etc to not be bothered changing to anything else I have gt3076R .82 525hp turbo to answer your question which My goal is a forged bottom end, plenty of torque and low 300rwkw. It is a daily driver!

C34 Manual Conversion Issues
darrinspencer replied to canarygsr's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What is the difference in the flywheels? I sold a large number of lightened flywheels years ago and they were all the same I think you said you have a R32 GTr push type gearbox and a gtr flywheel Buy a clutch that suits that. Forget the R34 stuff It is not that confussing. I am done -
Neo head has soild lifters as well, plus larger exh valves and VCT over the 26 head. Main thing is decide on what purpose the car is used for and your power goal. Street you want response and down low torque and 300-350rwkw is more than enough. I have considered the Rb26 block or complete engine, but I am still swinging towards rb30 with a 1800kg stagea. When spending $5-10k on a short motor, the cost difference between a Rb30 block+sump adaptor ($1000) and a good 26 block and crank ($500) is only $500 the answer is easy.

Should be able to get a new top tank fitted. While you are at it, get it cleaned out. Or buy a new JJR alloy one $399, but no auto cooler They are shiney too.

What people forget is the Jap's "had to" develop stroker kits for rb26 as the Rb30 block was never sold in Japan For once we are luckier than the Jap's Imagine how many killer Rb30's would be in Japan if they had them. Rb30 with Neo 25 head is one of the best combo's. I can not wait to do it later this year. Would just be nice to have 26 ITB's to make it perfect.

C34 Manual Conversion Issues

Josh is right All Rb flywheels are the same I use a late model R32 gtr box which is pull type rebuilt by Jim Berry for approx 300rwkw cost around $900. Looking at upgrading when the new engine goes in as it slips already esp being AWD Push type clutches are cheaper -

C34 Manual Conversion Issues
darrinspencer replied to canarygsr's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The bracket is out of a series 2 manual stagea, not r34 That is right for the bracket onto the fire wall, that it fits thru the sound proofing.. There is also some other mounting points which fix to the dash cross brace -
C34 Manual Conversion Issues
darrinspencer replied to canarygsr's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You can buy all the brackets from nissan. approx $70 for the handbrake one Much easier to use the factory bracket so that you do not rip out of the car over time when pulling the brake on -
With the bottom of the bonnet catch support I used a peice of 20x3mm alloy approx 30-40mm long. Bolt it to the bottom rail and drilled a hole thru it and used a bolt and nut thru the support. You could probably redrill the support. I think you might be able to see what I did in my build thread when I painted the engine recently The condensor brackets at the top had to be bent past 90deg to get the to fit. They could be done a little better thou.

C34 Manual Conversion Issues
darrinspencer replied to canarygsr's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Do you know what hand brake you have got The skyline ones are very similar to the stagea one, but the mounting feet are different angles I used a brand new stagea one for ease, was aprrox $170 and was not worn out. To make things easy you need to use the mounting bracket that is normally welded in on the tunnel. The bracket is made of 2 peices spot welded together. Series 2 auto's have one part of this bracket already so you only use one half of the new bracket. Series 1's I believe need to use the whole bracket. Either weld or bolt to the floor. Then the hand bracket will sit at the correct angle and line up with the centre console. Same with the clutch pedal, the stagea and r34 are the same, but the mounting bracket to the fire wall is different. Grab a stagea one and you will be right Have you got a centre console yet? I might be getting a spare one and possibly the pedal brackets etc. Attached is a couple pic's of a full stagea manual conversion. Might help -
Looking good mate Did you have to shorten the front inner skirts approx 15-20mm behind the head lights to get the correct angle for the headlights? The new rad support lower rail, is it the same or different to the old one I did not use the new lower rail as pretty sure mine was a r34 GTR not GTT support panel and hung too low, other wise the radiator would be too short in height. Keep up the good work, sure helps when you have a pair of extra experienced hands.
