Anyone Using Nistune In S1 Stageas ?
darrinspencer replied to robots's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Darkhalf I have a series 2 stagea. Was a auto, but I converted to a manual. I was running a r34 power Fc for a while with the only issue, which is the same as the factory manual stagea's, the engine check light comes on due to the AWD stagea Rb25 does not have traction control. It is a simple fix, but not too important. So I see no reason the Nistune ecu should not work in my case. I plan to get a Nistune board soon as I no longer have the power Fc fitted. -
Anyone Using Nistune In S1 Stageas ?
darrinspencer replied to robots's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Mike, I have a english translated series 2 stagea pin out diagram if that will help. Note, it is not the r34 that floats around on the forums. I will have email to you as it is against forum rules to post up here. You may already know this, but apparently there is 3 different series 1 ecu's with different pin outs. -
Ill Admit It Theirs A Pedal Missing In My Footwell :(
darrinspencer replied to kidafa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I did my series 2 about 18 months ago. Several things can blow the budget out. If you use a pull type clutch which suits the late R32 gtr and all R33 gtr gearboxes, the clutch kits cost twice as much as using a push clutch and 89-93 R32 gtr gearbox. I used a $900 Jim berry clutch because they are good. You could use a $200 clutch if you want. The other parts that push the cost up is the centre console. You could loose a $1000 these days with the exchange rates. I have seen some butchered auto consoles, so you could save the money if you want. You will need to buy new the clutch pedal, bracket and associated parts to make things easy. You could also save money if you use a s/hand master and slave. You can use any RB flywheel, they are all the same, so $25 will find one. Bascially you could do the conversion for as cheap as $1200-1300. Mine cost me approx $3000 in parts plus some labour. Not sure if you have tried to pick up a 4wd box, they wiegh approx 80-90kgs. So it is a bit hard, but possible to do it without a hoist. You will be busting your balls!! I did all the pedal conversion and master and handbrake install at home and then drove to a shop and paid a shop to swap the box over on a hoist. It is approx an extra hours work over a normal clutch replacement to do the conversion. Need to do a small wiring mod so car with start, fit manual spigot bush, mount flywheel, remove/cut auto cooler lines. Approx $500-750 in labour. I had to get some parts direct from Japan as nissan aust could not find them on their system. use www.japanparts.com Basis costs R32 push gearbox $300-800 Clutch (patrol), flywheel, machining, bolts $300 S/hand master and slave $50 Clutch line briaded $85 Clutch pedal $300 Brake pedal R33 s/hand $10-25 Oil $20-100 Spigot bush $20-30 Handbrake $25 make your own bracket and mod r33/r34 handbrake. $250 new stagea handbrake and bracket Console $50-1000 Do not read Alex's thread. -
Stagea S1 Parts
darrinspencer replied to msports180's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Might need bonnet hinges. Do you still have some? Price delievered to Brisbane thanks -
Received my rear bar and side skirts yesterday. Had a quick look at them. The quality of the f/glass is about a 6/10 compared to my genuine Dolphin kit. I think it will take a good day or two to get them ready for painting. Need to fill them where the 2/3 peice mould lines are, minor pin holes in gel coat and they are not completly flat. Will try them on the weekend for fitment. Fingers crossed.

Here is a cut and paste from a email from Andrew at CCubed. . . . The complete kit costs; -Guards $ 690.00/pr -Bar reo $ 350.00 -Headlight adaptors $ 200.00/pr -Bonnet Hybrid $1,200.00 -R34 GTR bar $ 450.00 -Front Lip $ 250.00 -Splitter/Diffuser $ 600.00 (Opitonal) All these pieces come to $3,740.00 All these prices are for fibreglass (FRP) products. We can do the bar, lip and diffuser in a flexi version too, so it behaves just like a O/E plastic item, even sounds like them when you tap it. This kit means no de-gassing of the air conditioning core. The bonnet goes straight on to the factory Stagea hinges. It lines up with the rubber stops and bonnet catch. As it is a R34 top skin with a Stagea under-skin, so we call it a "Hybrid hood". The headlight adaptors are moulded brackets which allow the R34's lights to mount to the Stagea's radiator support. You only need to trim a small amount of metal from the Stagea's radiator support to allow the wider R34 lights to fit in position. We supply a template which allows you to mark out where you need to trim. To fit them, drive in drive out would be approx another $2,640.00 (plus paint and assuming the car is straight to begin with). We can paint them too, but most people have their own painters. This price would fluctuate depending on the mounting of any other bits and pieces, e.g. FMIC or Factory SMIC etc that may need moving or trimming to make fit. The only other things to probably grab would be head lights and the rubber strip which fits between the top of the front bar/grill and bonnet front edge. We can source these too if needs be. The kit even comes with a carbon fibre bonnet prop! As you don't use the gas struts on the new hood. Or you we can get your existing gas struts de-gassed a percentage to compensate for the lighter hood. We've done that on a few cars now when they fit lighter hoods. Depends if you want to spend that little bit more, or just use the prop.

All stagea are complianced to the same adr's so they can be registered anywhere in oz If you buy a car from down south, you will have to get a qld RWC $55 and then stamp duty 3.5% and for new plates $20 to get it re-registered.

I am thinking maybe a darker colour on the bigger car, something like a dark charcoal metalic My current R34 gtr bonnet is that dark purple rare nissan colour. Sort of suits the car -

Nothing that fancy. Not looking for a autosalon car, will still be a daily driver I need to paint 80% of my car anyway, so I was thinking a non factory colour. I have done 7 full colour swaps before on my previous cars. It is a bit more work, but it is worth it. I like blue's and have considered going bayside blue to stick with the Nissan theme. Previous cars in blue have been ford cabolt blue on a series 4 RX7, subaru wrx blue on a AW11 MR2 and ford blueprint on my r33. I am not sure if a darker or lighter colour will suit the bigger car. Might need to check out the new HSV wagons for an idea. -
Buy a Australian made kit for less money, less work and better quality and fitment www.ccubed.com.au do them Series 1 and 2 the same

I convert my series 2 to a manual. It cost around $3000 for parts with centre console etc. Depends what clutch you. mine was a Jim berry at $900 I did some of the labour and paided some to do the box swap. Was another $600. I think best option for now is grab a s/hand auto box for $200-400 and fit that. Then if you are keen, collect all the manual conversion parts over time and do the swap later. Alex never did it, so he was only only guessing what was involved. Some of his threads are funny. It is not that hard of a job to do with the right parts.

Anyone Using Nistune In S1 Stageas ?
darrinspencer replied to robots's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Looking at the Nistune site, there are no R33/series 1 stagea ecu avaialable yet. The type 6 is still be developed. You would need to get a series 2 auto stagea ecu, so you can use the type 4 board. Then you will have the same problems as people who have used a R34 Apexi power Fc in their series 1 stagea's with the slight wiring changes needed for it to work correctly. Note the people who have used the Apexi have manual cars, so no auto shift problems. If you use the series 2 auto stagea ecu, hopefully it will control the series 1 auto Ok. So you could run into more issues. Maybe Nistune could tell you if the auto will work Ok. You will also need to find the correct series 1 wiring harnes diagram. Apparently the series 1 stagea has 3 different types. Have a search for Duncans series 1 Apexi ecu install thread for some answers. I have sold my Apexi power FC in my car and now looking at getting the Nistune. Basically does the same thing for a 1/3 of the price. -
Got any pics? What was the fibreglass quality and fitment like. By the sounds of things the Viva stuff varies alot. Some people have said some of there stuff (not stagea kits) fitted perfect and others have thrown the stuff in the bin or got it replaced or refunded. I took the punt yesterday and have ordered a new rear bar and side skirts to the R34 front a bit better than what I had. Time will tell. Viva told me they are the first batch out of the moulds, so hopefully they will be ok. There made in China.

New R34 Wagon (s2 Stag) Owner
darrinspencer replied to EvoMitchy's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hey Mitch, If you are ever on the south side of Brisbane on the weekends, drop and we can compare r34 fronts and you can try my 34gtr rims just to tease you You would still need to run spacers on the front with 34 rims as the gtr front is wider in the guards. I need some as well, probably 20-25mm -

Removed Front Lip... Ugly!

Get it repaired. It would not be to hard to rebuild it. Drop it into any fibreglass shop and your area. Ps Need to lower your car as well.
