Thanks for the reply, Yeah heard they're not the best option, I'll have a google and call around and get some quotes. Yeah might try put an ad up on gumtree for a swap...would really prefer more tyre than rim, it's just smashing the suspension. -
Hey guys, I recently had a friend replace the busted rubber inner LCA bushings on my car with superpro polyurethane ones...The old bushings just fell out, leaving only the metal cylinder piece behind. After pressing out the that piece on the first arm, the new bushing was loose in the hole (Think the part he used to press it was slightly too big, used a different piece for the other arm and the bushing fit well) so he machined some nylon stoppers to place on each side so the bushings couldn't slide out. Is this going to be an issue or was it a decent DIY solution? I know I need a wheel alignment, can anyone recommend an affordable/reliable place in Perth other than Pedders? Also my tyres are badly worn from being out of alignment I'm assuming so I will need to replace them before I can get the alignment. My tyres read 235/35A19 91W - see pic, I need the cheapest replacements possible, any suggestions on tyre stores? Would it cost much more to just go for 4 new wheels so I can go 17 or 18" rims and have a bit more cushioning? Thanks ?

Ah ok cool, I just read something about the torque being off if not done at ride height. Anybody in Perth feel like lending me a hand for a carton? ? Seriously though, would be really beneficial to have somebody who knows what they're doing help me get this sorted, I'd be happy to pay for your time ☺ There may be other issues that I and the guys helping me might miss etc...Really want to get it back on the road...Sat in it yesterday and just revved it a little...having car withdrawals lol

My parents run an engineering/hydraulics workshop so good chance they've got one. Quick question, I read the bolts need to be torqued at ride height, if so, does that mean the car needs to be on the ground?

Thanks for the replies. Thinking we'll attempt it ourselves first, got access to a workshop and tools, plus I don't know what state the rest of the suspension is in yet, I don't want to be conned into replacing things that aren't necessary. I'll post some photos when we get under there, let me know what you guys think.

Hey, I've purchased a replacement set of bushings for the busted bushings (see pic) in my lower control arms in my 02 C35 (Specific model PV35 350gt8). I'm wondering if anyone can give me a rough idea of how much a standard mechanic will charge for the labour, what price would be a rip off and if anyone has a suggestion for a good mechanic in the Perth region? Thanks

2002 Nissan (Skyline G35/350z?) suspension repair
Neurotic replied to Neurotic's topic in Introduce yourself
Oh might just add...another minor issue, one of my bonnet brackets is bent/warped, can I get a replacement or could I bash it back into shape without destroying it because it's obviously weak enough that it's buckled ? Thanks ?- 14 replies

Bushings ordered and on their way, fingers crossed they're the right fit. Looking like I might have to have a go replacing them myself, with some help from co-workers and youtube lol. I'm super keen just to get under the car and see what it looks like...I'll post pics when I do and you guys can play where's wally with what else looks like it's about to break/explode/fall off if you like ?? 2002 Nissan Skyline PV35 350GT-8 Parts Compatibility Help
Neurotic replied to Neurotic's topic in Introduce yourself
Ok cool thanks, yeah seems that way hey, from what I've read only noted differences in any of the models released around same time of mine is engine configuration, slight weight difference, body shape and transmission...The whole Infiniti G35 got me a bit confused at first too, but that's just basically re-branding yeah? Would you happen to know of any reliable suppliers in Perth or Aus region? Thanks- 6 replies

2002 Nissan Skyline PV35 350GT-8 Parts Compatibility Help
Neurotic replied to Neurotic's topic in Introduce yourself
Thanks for the reply, forgot to mention in the original post that it's a sedan, does that make a difference to parts compatibility? Been off the road for too long, really want to source the parts but can't find a local supplier, and don't want to end up with the wrong parts ? Thanks- 6 replies

Hi again guys, After a lot of research I've finally figured out what model my car is (bit hard as I can't read Japanese). I'm looking for any info on what parts are compatible with chassis/body and engine as I've been lead to believe they are different (V35/Infiniti G35 for chassis/body and 350z for engine/interior). I need new bushings for the inner lower control arms on my front suspension, probably a few other things too...so would anyone know where/what I should be looking for? I was told the parts below would suit - pic of damaged bushing and new part below. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, local mechanic hasn't got a clue... Thanks ?

Ah ok cool, hopefully once I replace them they'll last for that long again at least ? The ones I'm getting are Superpro polyurethane, hopefully they'll be alright. I do want more height though, I can't get down the angle into my carport lol- 14 replies

2002 Nissan (Skyline G35/350z?) suspension repair
Neurotic replied to Neurotic's topic in Introduce yourself
Cheers, yeah I'm not super pleased about how much it'll cost to sort out. Yeah the mechanic was shocked, it was good timing...had just started feeling jolts over bumps etc. I think it's only so messed up because of the crappy home job suspension, which will be the next project...haven't had any dramas at all with the engine or transmission, not even a hiccup, otherwise I wouldn't even consider doing anything with it. Yeah, it's parked up, won't be going anywhere until it's safe.- 14 replies

2002 Nissan (Skyline G35/350z?) suspension repair
Neurotic replied to Neurotic's topic in Introduce yourself
Yeah the suspension is pretty messed up, whoever owned it didn't lower it properly, I want to put a new suspension kit on asap. I've driven it for about a year on crappy roads too...otherwise it runs awesome, so I'm happy to put some money into it.- 14 replies

Thanks for the info, actually found that same part number on ebay for about that price after searching for hours! I'll see if my dad can do it, he's got a workshop, otherwise I suppose it'll have to go to the mechanic, he can check out the rest and give me a list of what else needs sorting out. Tyre place right next door to mechanic so I'll definitely get the wheel alignment afterwards.- 14 replies

Hey guys, Photos below: Got this car from the auctions, grey import, has skyline printed all over but rego doesn't specify model, it's listed only as 2002 Nissan sedan so I'm not sure what model I should be looking at for parts etc. It's obviously been modified by previous owner, suspension has been lowered, possibly chopped, don't know for sure. Local mechanic sent me this photo after I took it in for a service and told me the front suspension (mainly bushes) are destroyed, and the steering column is about to fall off... He's said it'll take 6 weeks to source bushes/bushings for repair from Nissan, but doesn't seem sure about what parts will suit... Any advice on what model's parts will be compatible and where to source them? Possibly quicker/cheaper? Or a recommendation for a more specialised mechanic? Any help would be much appreciated, I'm at a loss! Thanks
