The car park on the river near the narrows on the South Perth side. You can get a good view of the city and the river

Sh#t shmiddy!!!! what was all that on? A complete rebuild plus bolt ons? JB
-
hah yeah already replaced the centre plate previously on my ORC super single, but somehow I dont think it will last with the new gear on...seeing as how it was already starting to slip in 3rd when pushed hard after less than 10,000K What is a good clutch you would recommend? I have heard a lot of good reports about Jim Berry's clutch upgrades...or was looking to upgrade to the ORC twin plate. Cheers JB

I am getting a GT3540R (GT3582R) .82 A/R fitted to my RB25 at the moment. I am hoping that with cams it wont be boosting too late.

Mine went over the pits no probs (Greddy type S) and they even gave me a permit for it. Full atmo venting and not disabled. I may have just been lucky though

Whats The Cheapest Way To Hit 260-270rwkw?
HypeR33 replied to copycutter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Tuna, I will let you know how mine goes. Power FC, injectors, cams, GT3540(better match apparently than 3040 with no worse lag), fuel pump, 48mm pro-gate, split dump with removable pipe to screamer. All getting done currently and should be ready early april. Cheers JB -
Hey Strich9...when I get back in April will have to have that beer for joining the 2k+ club. 4k so far, with another 4.5k next week and then only about 6k more to go I think the total over a few months is going to be around 14k or so at least it should go well once its finished...until it fries the clutch JB

Yeah thats about right...for fmic, piping and fitting. You can get genuine Hybrid full kits for about $850. So if you install yourself like damono suggests you will save yourself a few hundred bucks Unique Auto Sports have a full kit for $700...dont know how good that one is, or Mod Your Car have genuine hybrid kits for $800 plus whatever the shipping cost is...then you could try and do it yourself. I would have tried doing some of the work on mine myself, but at the moment I am about 20,000 miles away makes it a bit hard

Cheers MrMayhem for the correction I was referencing their location from the linked thread
-
So you have a low mount (I meant the turbo placement). The $250 is for fitting a complete kit. If you need piping and stuff done that would be extra. If you have the full kit including the piping then it should be around $250 Cheers JB

Check the link below. This has been covered before. See last post from Randoninsanity73...Wilkinsons in Beechboro Coilovers Cheers JB

Hi Sammie...Mine is getting fitted and was quoted $250 to fit if you have a low mount manifold. Mine will be high mount so costs extra to make up new piping to the TB.

I was told 2, and I got a yellow for 2 after they were checking everything to find a second defect/mod that didn't have a permit. So does that mean a car pulled over for blowing a sh*t load of smoke would be ok if a second defect couldn't be found? There are so many cars out there running like dogs. The cops that gave me a yellow drove past a car blowing a huge amount of smoke to pull me over
-
I was told by the cop that gave me my yellow sticker that they have to find 2 defects to give you a yellow, is that right? So they got me for being to low...pretty obvious one, and then searched through for a second defect without a permit, so they ended up making the second one non standard seat rails, even though they used the same chassis points as the original rails. I have a permit for my atmo BOV, that means they cant yellow me for it right?

haha detector detector detectors I had a Bel 845 STI plus (I think thats what it was) before my car was broken into and someone stolen it. In Canada they use Bel radar detectors to pick up cars that have Bel detectors (or they did when I was there in 98). They leak Ka or K band (cantremember which) so when you drive past another car that has a bel your Ka goes off...strength of only 1 or 2 but enough to pick up a signal. Gave me a fright every time coz it makes you think a cop car is coming.
-
The detectors are useless against laser unless you get a signal from it while its pointed at another car. I got done by a laser a while back and braked as soon as the radar picked it up. The cop said he could see me braking from the speed detected...pointed to the detector and said we had you before you could react to the detector. In city mode they are fine for driving around the city...X band beep is disabled so you dont pick up automatic doors and everything else and have the thing beeping constantly.

This law has been brought up to be passed many times, and always been rejected. Have they now passed it or is it a report on them trying to get it passed again?
-
That really sux... Did you not get to go in the car? When I took my car over at Welshpool, there was 1 inspector driving and I went with him...still gave it a little though...although not a thrashing. Cheers JB

Has this changed recently? I had red neons under mine (until the rear stopped working), and I have been pulled over a couple of times and thats what they said...that red and blue lights are reserved for emergency vehicles, although I am not sure how they could mix up undercar neons for flashing lights on a roof. Anyway, both times they took my phone number to find out for sure and let me know and I never heard from them both times. So I assumed that they were mistaken if they did bother to call the technical department. I do know that to be legal the tubes cannot be visible to other drivers, and they cannot pulse etc as Mitchy says, but mine was connected to my light switch with an override and there wasn't any problem with that.
-
Thats right. I have been pulled over and had to produce my exhaust permit, and yet you can hear those things coming from miles away.
-
I am pretty sure that for WA rims are not supposed to larger/wider than 2 inches from that stamped on the tyre plackard. So if it was stamped with 16 x 7, then you could go up to 18 x 9, but not sure really how strict they apply those rules. ...I think the standard noise level limit for exhaust is something like 92db or 98db...but there are guys out there with a lot louder, like mine is 102db and I got a mod permit for it, and there are others louder so dont know how strick they are on this. They are however very strict on ride height. Lowest part of the body must be at least 100mm off the deck, and/or headlights minimum 500mm off the deck, whichever comes first. In terms of other mods there seems to be big grey areas too. I have a atmo BOV that passed, the inspector just said I need a permit for it, so I got it added to the list...easy as that, where as others have said that they are illegal.

You will need a cat for emissions, get a cat back system, a nice big dump pipe and big front pipe and you will be sorted .
