  1. I have found 2 GT30's that are GT40 models not the T04S version. 1. Compressor A/R - 0.70, Wheel trim - 64, Wheel Diameter - 2.41/3.22, HP - 550, Flow Lbs - 65 Turbine A/R - 0.82, Wheel trim - 84, Wheel Diameter - 2.16/2.36 2. Compressor A/R - 0.70, Wheel trim - 64, Wheel Diameter - 2.41/3.22, HP - 600, Flow Lbs - 65 Turbine A/R - 1.06, Wheel Trim - 84, Wheel Diameter - 2.16/2.36 The larger the A/R the slower the turbine has to spin to flow the same amount of air, but the more lag right? So the model with the compressor A/R - 0.70 and turbine A/R - 0.82 would be a better choice for response?
  2. I have a locked diff in my 33. They are great for lighting up, and only have a problem on very light throttle, or part cluch turns, like car parks, or 3 point turns. Other than that I have no problem with mine. Although the twitching on those tight cornering is annoying, it really is a give and take. Good for performance. Had no problems with chewing the tyres...but that was probably because it has that much camber all round, that I had to replace the tyres before it became a problem.
  3. Hey guys, I am looking at doing to turbo upgrade on my R33 GTS-T when I get back from London. I have been looking at quite a few, but would like any info from anyone that has or had a GT30R and how it performed? I know that HKS uses Garrett turbos (with a few mods and badge them as HKS) eg. HKS 3037 is based on the Garrett GT30, but for the price the Garrett seems unbeatable. I have a high flow turbo on now, but am bored with the output, so looking for more. Anyone with experience on the GT30R...how high in the rev range does it start to spool up? what power output was gained? thanks all... JB

  8. maybe it depends on who looks at your car. I ended up having the supervisor looking at my pillar gauges and threatening that they may have to be removed, even though I had a permit for them. The guy said the supervisor had the authority to overturn permits, which I found out from the technical team later that they have no such authority. A permit is a legal document that they cannot revoke later. Their reasoning was that I could have changed gauges after the permit was issued, which I didn't. The permit said fitment of gauges, so it didn't matter according to the head of the technical team at Welshpool. I just thought it strange that even the guy at Welshpool called the East Perth guys dickheads. I have heard from a few other people that they only ever take their cars over the pit at welshpool, especially jdm cars.
  9. I got a yellow sticker a few months back for being too low, and having non standard seat rails without a permit. FYI - anyone with yellow stickers dont go to East Perth!!! They are wankers. They went right over the car and pick out bullshit problems. Like the passenger side windscreen washer not working properly (Not life threatening I'm sure). They they gave me a big list of items I needed a permit for - Strut brace, pod filter, bov, aftermarket seats etc all little things...oh...and the remove the locked diff They also made we go to Welshpool to speak to the head of the technical team about my pillar gauges being too wide, even though I had a permit for them already. They wouldn't give me the permit back until got the clear from Welshpool. Well...to cut a long story short, went to Welshpool. Pillar gauges were too wide and come out infront of the steering wheel, but they couldn't do anything because the permit was for multiple gauges. Took it over the pits while I was there and the guy that looked at the list of things, laughed, called the East Perth guys dickheads and crossed everything out. Never looked at the car, just drove it around the block and took the sticker off. Managed to get away with the locked diff, by saying it had a tightened clutch in it, and the Ogura Racing clutch made it feel that way :kick:
