Just a question on this...what is the fine for? (in this case $168). In WA if we get pulled over and the gar looked over and yellow stickered (defected) then we have to fix whatever the defect was for, take it over the pits and get the yellow sticker removed. Apart from paying to go over the pits, we dont have to pay anything. There is no fine associated with it.

thats pretty harsh...and if thats not labelling you based on the car you were driving I dont know what is. Fair enough if you got a defect if there was a problem, but how can they tell you to never come back to a public place when all you did was get some food??? Not like you were causing havoc

in the end these events will die due to people staying away, or they will push the scene more underground which will make the situation worse... Maybe a police presence from the beginning of an event like this will cause the idiots to turn around and leave and the event will be more enjoyable for all...IF the police presence was there to keep the peace and not look at any cars sticker them, or take their details. I am sure they can turn a blind eye to car details if everyone is behaving themselves...I know I know...I'm dreaming for that to be the case

but why is it that the Vic authorities took such a hard line? For example, you can have a pod or fmic (if not in standard position), but not both? What is the reason for this? So if I have a GTR I can replace the front mount with a bigger one (because it is in standard position) AND get a pod filter? Or the illegal use of aftermarket ecu's which can be tuned endlessly, or bigger injectors...they dont increase emissions by themselves, they will just run at a lower duty cycle???? Just trying to find out why they would have made some of these mods 'illegal'... Cheers

bikes are allowed slightly higher from the article that was on one of the other threads...94db or something like that. Although there are so many bikes out there that would fail that. I know that my ducati was well over 100db with ducati's own performance pipes which you can buy as an accessory...and you hear some harleys out there that sound like they would be over 120db!! It is exactly the same in WA. Bikes, smoking old bunkies etc seem to go un-noticed, but get an import and they are all over it.

I am not complaining about the vic rules or anything (because so far *touch wood* I have had no problems from police that have driven passed/stopped at lights etc), but why is there not an Australian standard with regards to this? We have Australian Design Rules that have to be met no matter where you are in Oz...and yet things like this are state driven. I know that my car is perfectly fine in WA and QLD...maybe NSW...why is it that Victorian rules are so strict compared to what the rest of the country seems to be? Is it to keep vehicle performance down? Has it always been this strict, or is it a recent government change? Cheers

were the falcon's/commo's doing most of the burnouts? apart from the ones we can see on the video and pics There needs to be some sort of scrutineering to weed out the 'non eligble' cars trying to get into these...namely non imported vehicles. There is no other way to stop them and they can always join up along the cruise, but at least keep them out of the meet points
