  1. To many variables not enough background for an internet based answer. Take the ps belt off and see if it stops. If it does stop it could be pump/rack/lines/fluid type/belt tension. If no then its probably hicas spaz (pull out the fuse to lock it straight) or loose rack or similar if its steering related. If its not then look else where. In the video it sounded to me like it was running on 4-5 cylinders but i did watch it quietly. Maybe its just the shaking making it sound that way.
  2. Maybe slip the belt off the power steering pump and see if it stops to check the pump. Its shaking alot for steering could also be a missalignment in the steering, probably the steering wheel to steering rack or rear toe causing the hicas to spaz out trying to do its job. See if ya can pull a fuse out for hicas to stop it and see. Check steering rack mounts and rubbers. Check k frame bolts If not steering ive had some bad shakes 9ver my years driving all different cars from missfires (plugs/ leads /coil & packs) , torque converter and flywheel issues, unis , tail shaf issues, timing belt zorst issues,.....ect. Because it shakes at a stand still that narrows it down a bit. Good luck mate.

  4. Kool sounds like you will get it sorted. I was getting at... the gauge in the dash may require higher power load than the set up is feeding it. I remember reading somewhere not long ago about some wire from the alt was lower on the rb25 than the 30 and the dash wouldnt read correctly or something. If ya havent sorted it out soon ill hunt it up.
  5. The cylinders are pretty cheap brand new from the shop mate. They are after market and a little smaller. Dont even wory about the mounts till its pushin 300kw and has a 25 head and ecu or similar.
  6. Possible that the gauge is a high amp gauge reading from low amp supply design ed for ecu reading and low amp gauge... guess? Maybe i missed it but how long has it been this way?
  7. Check connection Engine earth to chassis? Engine earth to battery? Alt pos terminal to battery pos? Any other shorts or recent malfunctions or mods? Have you tried a different battery?

  9. For someone as new to this as you.... Start with a pod, stractors, zorst, ecu and tune. Most benifit will be the tune. The other will open it up for the tune. Oh and a manual transmission. In time after research years .... and some more knowlege maybe a cam. Then its to boost and at this stage the higer head flow is important and vct with dohc will be shid loads better than sohc when setup and tuned correctly lots of setup lots & lots. Dont open your motor. You do not know enough yet and may regret it big time. Goodluck hope you can pump the rb30 up a bit. Its all a bit of fun. Doing lifters atm myself.

Also you can use both i believe on a crossover so at a certain load level or pressure level the map takes over from the maf alowing maf to be res king at low throttle and map to res load like a champ.

  13. yes it will work but it will take some tampering. i dont know much about them but know enough that it can be used, do some research on the wire loom pin outs rb20det and rb26dett, do some research on rb20det base maps, do some research on power fc. maybe some one else will tell you how to easier but usual response is to take it to a shop. goodluck with that over there. stock ecu is easiest cheapest method to get the car running if its not reasonably modified.
  14. possibly a crash sensor, has it had a system diagnosis? possibly a loose wire plug clip or dodgy wire?
  15. as above, they require duel elements with twin conector in the middle at the bottom of the globe, a single will short both and cause all elements to be lit using any of the lights.
  16. Isnt there an injetor on a different pin for the 25 compared to the 20?
  17. Its plugin so wiring it up is prety easy. Lol. Hmmm wonder if its the same 2 firing and that may be why it works on 20 det... If i recall its cyl 4 and 6 that are different pins between the 25 and 20 ecu. Thanks for the info. Ill do some sussing. Still would be nice to get a gold of a base map for the 20 oposed to the 25.
  18. As far as i could see in the downloads the maps they have are for 25. The boss man at wolf said it could be tuned to suite 20 and the injectors/spark pins shouldnt need swapping to correct. Surely someone with a 20det map or some know how on these old wolf v4 plug in units.

  20. Any one got a rb20det base map file for a wolf v4 plugin , that they would be willing to share with me? I want to have a play but am new to wolf and am unsure of a couple of the settings to get correct injector/spark order, as the wolf v4 unit may have 25det tune. I contacted wolf and the unit does both 20/25 without any wire changes.

  22. Sorry to be a sad sack but. If a car is pinging badly on boost the noise can be high pitch (not a whistle but similar) and it will eat itself from the inside. If the plugs are white that means lean...lean on boost means pinging due to less timming , heat and pressure is needed to ignite and will have increased temps leading to detonation from heat induced pre ignition. Id be checking the fuel filter , fuel pressure , flow and regulator. Were any old plugs different color to the others? There is so many things that can cause a lean condition and so many driving occasions that things can occur at. Research a lot. Asking doesnt always help. If your mech or tech happy you should be fine to figure this out. Otherwise take it where it can be tested and diagnosed. From... un metered air - undelivered fuel- incorrect timming. Un metered air- breathing post maf pre turbo, unpluged , dirty or dead maf. Undelivered fuel- pump (bad flow/dead), ecu(control/tune), injectors(dirty/loose conection/dead) , filter (blocked) ,sender (can cause bad flow not switching 9v idle-12v throttle), maf(dirty/dead/unpluged) ,fuel regulator(should rise 1-1 with boost), O2 sensor(part throttle and boost transition lean condition) Timing out- Tune, incorrect maf/tps/cas sensor readings to ecu. Ok thats all that i can think of right now that is a possibilty. Im sure theres more. Goodluck.
