  1. The only way flames could be coming out would be from anti-lag, but anti-lag doesn't work while the car is idling.... I wouldn't throw away the turbo timer though...
  2. There aren't any flames out the exhaust, it cuts the injectors, the idling engine is only idling on 5 injectors.... And yes the benefits are huge!!! During tuning of my autronic and power runs with the ambient temp of 37degrees inside the dyno shop the engine was running really hot and after a period of 30 seconds to a minute the engine temps went from 90+degrees down to 80degrees...

  4. The Autronic management shuts down the injectors, not the spark... If you have a look at the monitor all function in the software you can see all the injector pulses shutting down and coming back up in a rotational manner...
  5. I'm actually running rotational idle on my car right now and i have a cat... Runs beautifully!!!! May i ask where you heard such nonsense??? Also what engine management are you running??? I've got Autronic SM2 v1.94... And yeah your right about how the rotational idle works...
  6. i had one of those in my car, i did ask what it was, but i've forgotten now... I'll have to find out again.... from what i can remember that doesn't plug into anything its a device to connect multiple wires together... like a loopback device...
  7. Yeah Dan i've seen them do the tests on me and i've never been sent tickets... Its just a calibration test to make sure everything is setup correctly... But this one time at band camp... Sorry couldn't resist... It was about June this year and pissing down with rain and i was fanging it along Roe Hwy coz i was late for a movie (doin 145 in 100 zone), it was pitch black and pissing down with rain then all of a sudden there was the imfamous flash and DAMN stoopid speed camera, but i have still yet to receive the ticket... Damn i was lucky with that one...
  8. I got pulled over by 2 cops in a 99 Nissan Pulsar, they told me they had problems keeping up with me and because of that they couldn't get an offical speed and only issued me with a warning...

  10. First up is my ecu... Its a piggyback Apexi unit... Its called a F-Manage... It has 15 different fuel maps to select from... Just plugs straight in... It also comes with an AVC-R (Gen-1) and AFC (Gen-1)... With a TOTALLY stock engine (inc. intercooler, injectors) i was able to get 252hp at the rear wheels on .85bar boost (dyno dynamics)... I have got dyno sheets to prove it... I'm looking for $1000.00 for the complete unit... Apexi Power Intake (like new)... $100.00 Standard intercooler piping + standard intercooler... $250 RB25DET fuel rail and 370cc injectors... $300.00 R33 Air Flow Meter... $250.00 If you would like to see any pics, just let me know and i can post them... Hey Dan, You think thats bad having to wait 5 weeks for a part, i've been waiting for 17 weeks (and still counting) for a Greddy Plenum and i CAN'T use my car coz its in pieces waiting for the plenum, damn dodgey malaysian importer... ggrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... So i've told the guy to go and screw himself and getting a plenum from Sub-Zero... Should be turning up in the next couple of days... Hopefully... Heres a word of advice before beginning ANY mods, make sure the company has the parts in stock (as in you can hold them in your hands), even if it means paying for the parts before hand then paying for labour, it will save a heap of headaches... Unfortunately i've found out the extremely hard way... Also remember that its not necessarily the mechanics fault for the delay, in my case the mechanic got parts through someone else... Anyway my 2c...

  13. Well i've just had a Racing Gear 2400 pressure plate put in and it feels awesome... Unfortunately i haven't taken it for a drive coz i'm getting heaps of mods done too, but the clutch feels really smooth and nice... Compared to a similar clutch which was in another skyline which felt awful... My new one feels similar to the standard one, but a little bit heavier where as this other clutch was heavy and stiff all the way through... Or if you want a serious clutch go for a OS Giken twin-plate... I heard they rule!!! Alan.

I'm getting a Greddy Plenum (http://www.trust-power.com/nissan/skyline/...ake_prenum.html ) The plenum is costing me $1500.00 The main reason i'm doing it is because i'm chasing Big horsepower and that i can easily use Rotary 550cc injectors which are costing me $50.00 each... Also i can use a larger throttle body (90mm) Alan.
  16. Unfortunately i haven't got the forgies in yet... I plan on doing that next year some time... At the moment i'm busy putting an Autronic SM2 (new ECU) into the car, as well as 550cc injectors, fmic, greddy plenum scented with oranges ... I'm also in the process of getting a Garrett GT30 with external wastegate, high mount manifold, braided lines, dump pipe etc... Now i'm really outta money, so the forgies will have to wait till next year... The other thing i will look at when doing the internals is trying to raise the redline in the car by putting new camshafts, springs, valves etc... Get it to rev a lot harder!!!
  17. I've heard good things about JE, but you don't have to get all pistons from the US... If you go HKS or Tomei, they're Japanese, so you'll import them from Japan... Just gotta hope that they dont put them into a box with oranges... Also i think it will cost a bit more than $2000 to get the pistons and install them, coz they gotta remove the engine and basically rebuild it... I got a quote to do forgies, camshafts, port and polish and the lot and thats going to cost over $8000.00 but i will be getting serious horsepower outta that, like in the 500 neddies region... Just to remove the engine and put it back together you'll be looking at an extreme minimum of $2000.00... Just something to keep in mind... Alan.

Running a completely stock engine, and i do mean completely stock as in standard intercooler, turbo, the lot, the only aftermarket stuff was a blitz BOV and an Apexi F-Manage piggyback ECU running at .85 bar i was able to get 252HP at the wheels... That was at a dyno day, but i did get it dyno'd ages before that and got 245HP at the rears... If you wanna see a better quality picture just go to my website then look under dyno... Alan.
  19. I know how you feel croat... I've been waiting just over 10 weeks for my Greddy plenum to come from Japan... I just found out last week that when the plenum was sent, some tool put the box with plenum in it, into another box full of oranges... So when it came into Perth customs, they quarantined it straight away... They only discovered it by accident... I have an offical letter from customs saying that i will have it by the 30th...
