"tuned Silvia Vs Skyline Face Off"
handyandy replied to R-SPEC's topic in General Automotive Discussion
gtr's would have to have the advantage in a circuit race been all wheel drive. -
hi guys, i thought of putting a 26 into my 33gtst. Ended up going the 26/30. more tourque! made more sense when you add up all the costs.
-
i was under the impression the 25 harmonic balancer was ok to use. is this true?
-
all that effort and money into a sigma?........why? mate of mine has a corona, completely stock on the outside but a fully forged turbo'd engine. doesn't get the chicks looking, goes well but again...why??

Which Exhaust Setup To Go With? (r34)

if you cant hear the turbo after you install your exhaust, then get a bigger turbo -
Which Exhaust Setup To Go With? (r34)
handyandy replied to adzR34's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
why not do the whole exhaust? -
ash... i had trouble justifying the build but in the end i said f**k it. It will be a blast in the 33 gtst and should go well in the 32gtr later on when i hit the track more seriously.
-
Yeah, melb sux in that way. The engine will look stock and i'm going to try to keep it that way for as long as possible. With the stock turbos on i'm aiming for around 240rwkw. once the steel wheels are on ill push it more. With only rwd huge kw's isnt going to get me far. Torque should be good When the engine eventually goes into a gtr the bigger turbo's will be sourced. Simon

Thanks for the replys. I think i'll stick with the stockers for now. With some steel wheels. Down the track i'll end up putting the engine into a gtr most likely a 32, and then slapping on some bigger turbos. At the same time do some head work, and cams Should be some fun in a rwd though !! Cheers Simon.

Hi guys, my 26/30 will be finished getting built soon. It's got a forged bottom end and will be in my r33gtst. Stock r33 gtr turbo's will be on for the run-in and final tune due to finances, but am now saving for a decent set. They will run 14psi and wont see the track I have searched and came up with 2560's int gate. My thinking for this is that i want more power than the stock ones can give me reliably and i only have the rears to get trackion. So what do you guys recomend? It's a street car first with occasional track use. I'd also like to keep them a direct bolt on Thanks Simon.

about right why don't you get a 26/30? about the same price.
-
2BNVS... i'm currently having my 26/30 built at the moment. Not sure on the gasket or thickness but i'll ask next time i speak to him and let you know I'm not chasing those power figures yet as i cant afford the turbos, but will have an engine capable to later on. Simon

hi guys, i'm getting my 26/30 built as we speak? i'm wondering what the stock limits of the r32 gtr head are? Thanks Simon

cheers, it's hard to trust people these days.

i've been calling round to find a machinest. One has quoted $2000 for the block prep. I've read that some of the guys are getting their blocks acid dipped, crack tested, honed etc for $200. Boreing my block out cant cost that much, can it?
-
sweet, thanks guys thats what i was thinking. R31Nismoid... yeah, it's something a little different. and i have the time:) Building it myself with help from a mate and cubes pdf file. IMPUL R32-R...cheers, if this block doesn't work out i'll give them a call. Just need to find a decent machinest now. Thanks guys:)

Hi guys, i took my rb30e block to a machinest and was told that it would need oversized pistons. He said that it would be better to get a block which only need a hone and could still use standard sized pistons. Saying that when you go oversized the engine will start to use more oil after the first few thousand kms. "If you want a reliable engine don't go o/s pistons. It's ok on a V8 but not a turbo engine".\ To me this sounds like a load of shit. I asked my mate who is a mechanic and he said it will be fine, they make o/s pistons for a reason. The engine will be a 26/30 and put out about 300rwkw. Being a cabinetmaker i have little idea on these things. What do you guys think??

Bl4cK32.... which pump would be best then? It wont see the track too much. will the stock rb25det oil pump sufice? r33_racer... sorry one x 1.5 oil restrictor. Does any know which one should have the restrictor in it? Thanks for the help, Simon.

Hi Guys, i'm ready to send my block off to get cleaned, crank, rods and pistons done ect. I just want to make sure that the parts i have are all ok to use and havn't missed anything. My list is.... 32 gtr head on rb30e block. Forged pistons and rods. Stock crank rb30 Acl Big and main bearings Standard rb26dett h/g. or metal one ? Will deck the block to achieve between 8.5 to 9 c/r. Arp rb25det head studs N1 oil pump with crank collar 2 x 1.5mm oil restrictors 2 x rb25det knock sensors rb25det oil pressure sensor Dayco Timing belt 94407 with two tensioners rb25det engine mounts, pullys and tensioner. + 1 for above the water pump I'll then build it up with reference to cubes's pdf file. Sorry for going though all this but theres so many pages to read. I'm at 66 at the moment Thanks again, Simon.

hi guys, i am using an n1 pump with a crank collar. and now i'll use a 1.5mm oil restrictor. Thanks for the help.

bump.

hi guys, i'm building my 26/30 mainly for street use. is it nessecsary to use a 1.5mm oil restrictor? tomei or other. the standard one is 2mm. i think? I'm under the impression that they're only needed for high rpm engines.(race/track use) thanks simon

nemini90, cheers for the reply. found cubes's rb30 conversion pdf file! it's all happening now!! Thanks for the help guys

Nobody knows???? How about this... can someone confirm that these holes are correct? Is there anything i'm missing? Do i need to drill and tap any holes? Thanks Simon.
