hi guys, i'm building up my rb 25det with gtr rods and arias pistons.
I have ben checking out acl for main and big end bearings.
They have two types of each duraglide, and race series.
I plan on using a gt 3037 and using the car for track and road use.
Are duraglide good enough for my level?
Also are new guides and a strong bolt set essental?
If so where do you recomend getting them from

an safc2 with the sitc ( ignition timing control ) unit is great for people who dont want to do too much to their cars and is an inexpensive way to control your engine.

wrxhoon.. the no.s that are on yours will they be the same on every other set of gtr rods?
4 of the ones i have are 7-1 05U41-2
and 2 have the same no. but a 1 at the end instead of the 2?

mick, you should think about selling the safc and itc and get a pfc later down the track.
Then you have a lot more tuneing options if you decide to say open the engine or slap a bigger turbo on.

r31- yeah i seem to have no luck when it comes to the boys in blue. Is it pos to get away with a low mounted internally gated urbo or is it nessesary for the power/setup i'm after to have an exernally gated one?
i was thinking gt30 or 2835 ProS with the 0.82 exhaust housing as bob suggested.

hi guys i've just started progressons on rebuilding my engine. I want it to used to the track/road. So about 300rwkw maybe more all day.
just a few quick questions: i'm confused on which head gasket to use. reading through the 3037 thread they mentioned o-ringing the block? do i have to change the c/r?
Also i planned on using arias forged pistons with gtr rods (preped) but have heard that it is better to use the same brand rods,pistons and rings. Is this true
i just have to take the flywheel off and it hops onto the stand to be stripped

rob... hopefully getting bigger turbo soon and i'm under the impression that i can use a fpr to get a few extra kw's. i have 200rwkw now with pfc standard turbo 10 psi.
Can i max injectors and afm and get about 230rwkw with fpr and turbo?
will be getting z32 afm and injectors ( i cant afford them yet )

hi ben, i also recently did an oil and filter change, and put in petrol from another pump.I always use mobile 8000.
my problems started after the oil change i put in castrol R 5w 30, but thats what i have always used.

i have been running at this level for at least a year. why only now is it comming up?
faulty sensors? out of tune? i haven't touched the engine except for oil,filter and plugs changes.
