its costing me $300 for the rack + the labour. its a brand new one too, its not a recond'd one

basically, i noticed an oil leak on the ground..but it wasnt black, its more a a dark redish colour. so i thought it was power steerin fluid. had a look, and it was empty. filled it up, then after about a 3 weeks or so, it was empty again. i had a look under the car, and it turned out to be the steering rack which is torn completly. so i went to my mechanic, and he said you'll prob have to get a new one, cause with a second hand one, the chances are it will happen again. he said a new once can cost from anything from $180-250. which i think is a bit expensive. (thats not including labour) am i getting ripped off? and is this a common problem with skylines? also, does it neeed to be replaced, or can it be repaired? thx.

had the same problem with my r32 ended up being the spark plugs. i changed to platinum iridiums. fixed her up straight away.

i took the spoiler of my r32. anywayz, now its left with holes (9 to be exact) and glue shit. at the moment, im just coverin it with duct tape, so u cant really notice it unless u walk up close n have a look. ive been to a few places,and they've quoted me $400 to fix it, cover the holes, take of that glue shit and re-spray the boot. cheapest i can find is $380, is this a decent price, and has anyone had to do the same job before?

i know that hicas steering is wen 4 wheels steer when travling at high speeds. anyway, on my r32 gtst,a orange light (saying hicas) pops up, near were the speedometer is. usually happens only wen i start the car, stays on for like 5 mins, then goes off. then it turns on and off sometimes for no reason, but not while im tavling at high speeds. is this something i should worry about? or its nothing important. thanks.

yea...i bought the plugs...just gotta get em changed now. also, i tried changing the fuel filter..that reduced it slighly, but not much. if the plugs dont work, ill try the fuel pump..hopefully dat solves d problem.

hey, just recently bought a r32 gtst, and the problem is, usualy in 1st n 2nd gear, wen i rev to about 4-5 grand, the car spluters. ive taken it to a my mechanic, and he suggest it might b the fuel pump. he said try to get one, and we'll fit it in and see if that wat the problem is. i called up jap parts, and they said 2nd hand one will cost $175, so its not worth it if it dosnt work. so has anyone got a spare fuel pump for a r32 that i can boroow or at least try or even pay $50 for one if you have a spare one lyin around. thanks in advnaced. or if anyone can suggest wat the problem would be it will be greatly appriciated. thanks
