  1. Mate you're a legend! I did what you said and has to do some other stuff to get it right and I got the tensioner in! My idea was first to hold the sprocket in place on the hex while I turn the engine counter clockwise but didn't work. Instead just turned the crank counter clockwise, then I turned the hex on its own and heard the tensioner click in! Don't know if it's 100% in but looks good. I also turned the engine then clockwise a couple of times (it's currently on tdc as per the picture) What do you think? I think I need to turn it until the links line up? Because I am pretty sure I never lost the gold link on the bottom as I always held the chain tight.
  2. I see. thats my challenge cause the tensioner wont go in. But ill see what i can do. Cheers
  3. Hard to follow these instructions cause cam caps are off and sprocket bolts are loose. Im worried if i keeping torquing and untorquing will break them. There is lots of slack now cause the bolts of sprockets are loose. You said tdc link im assuming this is the yellow link where the crank shaft is? Hard to count if i dont have the cover off. Or is this whole thing assuming i have the cover? So many variables to think about. Could i pay u for a skype video call lol or something? If not all cool just running out of options as all mechanics ive called are busy.
  4. Thanks. Ive read once u turn the crank the silver links wont line up anyways so this will be interesting lol.
  5. Thanks a bunch again man. The instructions are a bit over my head but ill try figure it out.
  6. Your right i know but its just thats going to be a nightmare of a job. And im just hoping that new rocker arm fixes the compression. I was gonna get a mobile a mechanic to check it out to see if it was something simple. I wanted to try do it in the cheap if i can get my endoscope camers down there to see if the gold link is there. Once i turn the engine clockwise wont it move anyways?
  7. Hey i did put it on tdc before i removed camshaft and all of that for first time. Definently did. I am gonna try again just with the silver links marking i sae a video on youtube. If not i hope i dont have to remove the engine from the car. Thanks also for checking that out for me.
  8. I really need help I got the yellow marks i made to line back up but I cant get the silver link to line up I am not sure if i need to turn clockwise until it goes in a circle and it reaches the circle? I am worried it will snap
  9. I did man but same thing. I checked the bracket the timing chain sits in is unmovable so it cant push against it. Only thing i can think is sprocket moved slighty when trying to tighten or silver links arent lined up
  10. Hey, yes it is fully retracted and the pin is holding it. Also are my chain links not lined up correctly?
  11. The last picture that you see where the timing chain Is sitting is, is quite tight which I assume is normal but also realized when went to tighten sp rocket that it moved because the yellow mark doesn't line up with the circle. I also saw there are darker links on the chain from what Ive heard, they were supposed to line up with the circles?
  12. I am just about to reassemble everything, this is the last thing I need to put on besides the valve cover and just connect a couple of pipes (they are no problem) Here is what I've done so far * Torqued everything to spec such as sprocket bolts, and camshaft bolts *put in correct angle sensor, it is in perfectly got some photos as well to show bolts are lined up and the marks on the top are lining up * timing chain is correctly slotted (wasn't previously, but the entire thing should be fine) I can't figure it out, it just won't go in. Here are some photos. I urgently need help. (the 2nd photo is the problem)
  13. cause no one responds lol
  14. Yeah that's true but what is the purpose on the guide here? I can only think so it doesnt go upwards for some reason.
  15. Looks great, but curious what makes you think it's worth 28k lol? Hard to believe sometimes that car that's that old has that many km's only. (not trying to be rude or anything, just curious cause I see heaps of these sort of cars that go for in my opinion, sky-high prices).
  16. Look at videos on youtube the timing chain sits straight across the top with no 'U' shape in the middle between the 2 camshafts. but mine seems to have some play. (Keep in mind when i opened the engine there was no upper chain timing guide, apparently i need it but im not sure. Do I need it? is it a must?) 20191123_151122[1].mp4 20191123_151122[1].mp4
  17. Yeah exactly. Hey can I quickly ask you sorry for the million questions but something super important. when i remove the valve cover there was no upper chain timing guide, had no guide at all is this fine and can I drive without it?
  18. I ended up figuring it out, had to remove some stuff and my final question (hopefully) I need to put on the new lifter and my question is can I slightly lift the camshaft in order to put the new rocker arm or does it need to go off completely to even the pressure off?
  19. Hi I put back the intake and have no idea where this goes if you could please point me in the right direction.
  20. thats the one thanks all.
  21. Doing some more research looks like its a fuel injector rubber real?
  22. So I lost this plastic part on my intake manifold when removing it, and I just can't find it. It doesn't seem it's inbetween the engine or under the car and need to order another one. But cannot find it anywhere nor what it's called.
  23. Thanks. I noticed my rocker arm has a certain number. Do I need to find that replacement or I can buy any rocker arm? Are they all the same size?
  24. Hi so on my silvia s15 I noticed the rocker arm snapped on cylinder 2 which had 125 PSI, others had 135-138, 145, and 145, and weird thing is I didn't notice this when taking the valve cover off. Only when I tried to put it back on and noticed a piece stuck in the right top corner (no idea how it got there) and also I noticed my timing belt has no guide is this ok? Here is picture of broken rocker arm, and surprisingly the head isn't damaged. What do you think?
