  1. Going to need to sell this thing.
  2. I might have to come down with my recently finished street 33. It is getting a low-boost run-in tune next week and a sprint meeting next weekend to sort it out.
  3. I like this Build. Will be watching with much interest.
  4. This thing has had a bit of a bump in the rear and a rough fix. So I knocked all the bog out I could find and beat it out properly with a much thinner layer of GAGE GOLD (bog) to get the shape and finish spot on. And then ther is the hail...... lots of hail....... EVERY WHERE!!!! If I had plenty of cash, what number plate would I get. This was an interesting conversation when my little bro came to visit, with a cube of bundy. He's an accountant wanting to be a revhead. drives an 09 WRX. Before any one starts to think that we f**ked the paint on the bonnet by drawing in the dust, it is so hail damaged, there is no way it is staying on the car.....for long. I have been working on the body since the start of Easter and not much else. I was almost at a point where I had had enough and was going to take it to a shop to get it finished. But then the reality of $$$$ kicked in. Then I got a 2nd wind and got it in putty, found more dints, and putty again. If you squint, and use ur imagination, it could be the AMUSE CarbonR! On Monday, the painting fairy visited while I was at work. I had it back together by sun down. The next day.
  5. YAY! The paint fairy came while I was at work and put glossy black paint on it...... Dam she's a good girl!!!! Pics when it is back together.
  6. I hate Hail repair. I thought it was ready for paint, so we sprayed the primer and there was MORE F*&$IN DINTS!!!
  7. I did some thing similar. I only moved the arm up looking for better roll C. I have seen some redrilled out where the cross is for camber as well. As for camber in mine, I used a big mofo rose joint rod end and nut.
  8. I have to agree with the others, sub 60 sec is a big commitment in a road reg car even with the best conditions. Good luck with the project. I will be watching with interest.
  9. No, just an oil leek from the turbo feed to worry about.
  10. Another big weekend of little jobs that seem to take so long to get done. brake master, braided brake lines, fitting callipers and bleeding them up, fitting the Intercooler piping, clutch mastes slave and lines, fixing damaged looms to get the indicators going and fitting all the fuel system to the boot. best part is I got it started and got to check for leaks etc.
  11. 1/ use a good sized club hammer and flatten the inner lip. when it is up against the skirt, use a big mofo slide hammer and strech the crapper out of the guard. This takes some effort so have a big bowl of Wheat Bix for brekie. The wheel is a 17x9.5 GTR offset. -18 with a 245 40 17. this will probably meke the side of the car cave in. This will get worse the further the arhc gets pulled. I got to use a cool spot welding thing to pu these pins on which a special slide hammer is attached to. helps to restore some shape. Now for the inner sculpter to shine through and artfully restore some original type stylings..... kind of. This took alot longer than I imagined! So it is home now. Still have a lot of work to do body wize but the basics are basiclt there. Should have the Fuel system done tonight and have everything ready for a roady next week.
  12. We got it to fit and still work in mine. Starts off the leg in here And pop'sut here with a plate on the tower Hope to come down some time in the near future for a track day at Wakefield. You guys will have to let me know when some thing is on.
  13. Is there a cage in this thing yet? is it getting a propper 1 or a lap bolt in? a cage makes a huge diferance to the stiffness of the shell. I would look at the engine bay area including the A pillers first. the load that goes into the front shocks/springs makes a std front twist, alot. The 2nd a less needed area is from the B pillar back into the rear bulkhead. this area is boxed in an naturaly a lot stronger that the enginebay. I've seen some ppl copy someting from a jap mag, Popriviting as many seams as tey can with alloy rivits. I could't think of anytting worse!!! To my mind it makes it something like a perferated sheet, just tare onthe dotted line! I have put up plenty of pics of what I have done in my thread, It's what I have found to be effective. As for a SuperCreepy welder, I have seeen Gasless MIG ones do a decent job. That said, practice and set it up on some offcut pannel steel first. Get confident there before attacking the car. hope this helps?
  14. I'm beat. And Haill dint's suck ass. Pulled the rears about 50-60mm and blended them back into the body. has been a bit of a mission but should fit a set of 18/10's nice. Pics when I get home, some time over the weekend. Hopefully I will get to take the cop car out for a slide on friday night.
  15. I had a fire moment this weekend too. There i was seam welding the drivers door jamb........ there was a different smell...... look up and there is SOOOOOO MUCH SMOKE!!! Discreetly I said; "Oh, bother" the dash came apart in guinness record time. some minor damage to some wiring.
  16. It is soooooo close to going for RWC. first I need to pump the rear guards so I going to a mates panel shop tomorrow and wed for some guided hammer wielding! the motor n box went in today and got everything in the engine bay pretty much completed. The new turbo sits back about 20mm and has made some issues for the piping. Still need to get the fuel system in the boot sorted, that will happen over the next week or so...... I betting on so. The guards and bumper are on properly too now, that took longer that I expected. Looks good though me thinks. a long easter weekend well spent.
  17. Its definitely an area that I'll be looking at when I rebuild Gentle's front end but that will not be for a few months yet, deff have some ideas to run through. Need to focus on this beast first. Sat arvo Sara the fantastic spray painting and panel beating champion girlfriend of mine who I love, got the spray putty on and left it to harden overnight. Had to hang it some where. and today She put the black GLOSS on. I love her sooooooo much!!!! Thank you. For the record, my painting is not very good. On the result of my first attempt I was told that the finish looked like I had painted it at the beach on a windy day. Not from Sara I must add, she has more tact than that.
  18. ummmmmm. You can't handle the LCA's!!!!! I had a tidy up on photobucket. Try this link to lots of skyline pics http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q108/no...0the%20Skyline/
  19. Yep, winter is coming!
  20. Hahaha, MX5 Hmphahahaha. they are fun, for a bit. Then they become tediously slow
  21. Work and life have been getting in the way of being able to spend much time in the shed. Easter has been tagged as car time!!!! Yesterday I stripped back as much as i could out of the engine bay and got stuck into seam welding. I've done this a few times now and find it to be very beneficial if you are going to be doing much track work. Seam sealer is a pain because no matter how I try it is always still down in the join, messing up the first little bit of every weld. Bang some heat in, give it a mo, and plough on. I re-seam sealed it all up so the will be no rust concern in 10 years time. By the time I had given it all a rub over with surface prep, prepsol and had the basic masking done, the sun had gone down and taken the light for my spray boot with it. Back in the shed I wanted to make sure the Fglass guards ,which have been copied off my my race 33, fit up properly. Some little fixups needed. Painted this morning, primer on any exposed bits first, then satin black. Now, before anyone says, "Should have primed it all rar rar rar" Its a srteet car that will get flogged with regular and absolute gay abandon on tracks. ITS NOT A SHOW PRINCESS. Just waiting now for some help to push it back in the shed.... when the paint has set a little more though. Want to get the guards and bumper painted to day as well. Tomorrow I should be able to get the motor box and exhaust back in and stone guard the inner of the front guard area. Monday get the bodywork fitted and anything else that has popped up. I've got tues and wed off and planing to take it to a mates panel shop to roll and flare the rear arches. I don't have cool enough toys for that... Yet.
  22. Yes, thanks for noticing. I fixed it up, the 2nd now runs around to the other side where it is supposed to go.
  23. overkill on water lines?
  24. Bosch HEC-716. I have been using them for about 7 years. I went to get some new ones for the first time last year and the design has changed, not even close to how they were. The pic is of the new rail. The plug leads are cut down to suit, so don't think you can just buy them off the shelf. I want to remake it and should beable to get someone like QLD Ign leads to make me a set. That is if they are long enough to fit their machine. This is the old style HEC-716 wher I had an even shorter plug lead. While it was compact and neat it was a royal pain to swap a set of pulgs in a hurry between rounds. Disreguard the 3L sticker, stiring the pot for some scrutineers hahahaha.
  25. Does this help?
