  1. We went to The Noosa Hill Climb on the weekend, OMG. Ferrari on its side and wedged into the rocks, E Type fell off the hill out of sight, RX7 & Capri rolled over, 1600 head on into some blocks, Fury replica bluebird drilled some blocks. All the fore-mentioned cars need major repairs if not written off. the were several more offs into the fence but nothing like these. It is a very challenging track and we will be heading back next year to go 1 better, not happy with 3rd. I was being a bit arty with this clip, I'll endeavor to get a normal run or 2 up later. http://www.vimeo.com/7679231
  2. Lakeside would be perfect for this type of event in Qld. Rewards power and handling.
  3. this looks like fun. Count me in!!!
  4. Beautiful pics. so sharp. well done
  5. Try vimeo I have had some old vids on Youtube edited and had sound tracks removed. Vimeo seams to be a good option.
  6. The slicks rock for the mid-corner grip Duncan. Takes a little while to adjust to as the feel quite different to semi's. 400kw would be nice but what about driveability and control. I'm slowly working on a motor that hopefully have both. Should be a nice step up......1 day.
  7. Just been watching all the vids, Good work to all. Nice to see ppl out loving what they've got.
  8. And a throwtogether mish-mash of stuff with some incar as well. http://www.vimeo.com/6942621
  9. We rolled in at about 4:30 am Monday and went to work as well, No holiday up here. As you could Imagine it has taken a couple of days to get back on track, and get a clip together. Sara spent a fair bit of time wandering about getting Random bits to string together and some incar as well. The bump in the straight claimed 2 good tires which was very annoying. Semi's reaped a 50.23 according to the time sig on the tape and the slicks pulled a 48.09. I'm not saying there a real official time as the camera a bit of a shake with the slicks on. my fav part is the ducks crossing the track. Sorry some of the quality isn't quite up there, I trying some different formats for uploading. Suggestions are most welcome. Ps. Thanks to SAU NSW for putting on a great day, we had a ball and would do it again this weekend if there was enough $$$ in the bank. http://www.vimeo.com/6942621
  10. Worked for me, thats a good off!!! Thanks to all for a top weekend, I had a ball and would be back again If the track was still going to be there. I must admit I had a bit of a lump in the throat and a tiny tear driving out the gate.... Bye Bye Oran. I got some incar footage and plenty of random stuff so I will have to string something together over the next few days. The trip home took 12 hrs neat with only fuel and driver change stops. 1000km is a long way in a bumpy slow old Jap truck.
  11. Driving to the edge is just leving me room up the inside and besides, this is how to use the most track and make a skypower as wide as possible!!! I still have some tread depth left on the very 2nd hand jobs out of my tyre pile after last weekends Street Sprints. YAYYYY!!! first time to OP but hope to pick it up pretty quick, the vid helped get an Idea and John said he will show me round following the Z, just need a rocket booster to keep up!
  12. The instructions are pretty stright forward, but I put my tyres in a big plastic bin liner to let them cure for a week. I know other ppl wrap them with gladwrap and then put them into bags. I also like to put a dash in the tyre as Im fitting them. A HQ racer told me that trick, not that he ever cheated or any thing...... He did always do very well in the Q's now that I think about it, maybe he was just reading the rules with a mirror?
  13. I get it from an old guy here in Warwick, but he is out too. He was telling me there is a problem with the importer a while back? and that he is looking to put an order in direct to the UK. I will see him later to day and find out what/where he is up to with that plan. NOTE TO SELF: Use the small amount of Grip I have left sparingly. I was talking to a guy at the Oakey Street Sprints on the weekend about a product he uses, $50/L. I will chase up some info there too.
  14. I have been running slicks for about a year running at Morgan, Lakeside and QR with a stock sump in my 33. I run it about 750ml over full and havent had a problem yet, maybe I dont push it hard enough on them. I think the oil surge problem is more prevalent in GTR's with their 4wd cheat systems. Keep it real 2wd brethren!
  15. Thanks for the hype evil weevil but don't expect too much, It's just a little underpowered GTST. Tires could be a bit of a let down, Im at the end of my season of sprints up here and there is islands of canvas showing after last weekend. Today l was going through the old tire pile and picked out 4 of the best from tortured bunch for this weekends inaugural Oakey Street Sprints.... Will be interesting to see what is left for Oran. John I'm looking forward to coming down, thinking of getting going at about midnight friday. There should be an email in ur in box... If not, Im a wally.
  16. Morgan Park website says; "Track Open for Practice (Cars Only): Wednesday 16th September Wednesday 23rd September Wednesday 30th September *Please Note: All practice will be cancelled if weather is wet* (Note: Car Race Meetings Competitor ONLY Practice Friday before an event, unless otherwise stated.)" I'm going out this week for the morning session, which exp has shown to be the best because you can stay pretty much all day and tinker for an hour between runs. The guy who generally runs the practice days is a tip top bloke too. It might be $55 for the 1/2 day option now.
  17. Perhaps it's because I'm not into Ice-cream... but WTF is a wrister???? ; ; ; ; ; ; You don't,..... noooooo. Can't be, thats just disgusting!!!!!!!!
  18. If only the school holl's could start early by just 1 day ..... Have fun out there!!!!
  19. I'm in
  20. I have had a number of people ask about going to the track for sprints or even just a practice day. Normaly I just tell them to check the websites and go to a practice day. I have come to realize that just going to a practice day can be pretty daunting. So, Im looking at putting a track training day together where you guys can learn about how to prepare your car and your self for such a day. Also looking at what to expect at a sprint meeting in terms of how to enter, scrutineering, how the events run, warm up lap routine, the timed laps and how to approach a cool down lap, even what to do after the event so the car is ready to go again for day to day driving etc. I am looking at having a few class leading drivers there to offer advice on setup, seating position, and even driving techniques looking primarily at effective braking and steering. It would most likely be at Morgan Park in Warwick and is at this stage just an Idea being kicked about. Therefore I need an idea of numbers, what you would be interested in getting out of a day like this, and probably what you think it is worth. Any feed back is welcome, I just want to make grass roots motorsport accessible and as easy as possible.
  21. I have just put a query in in the MP website. Might even put a EOI in a track training day up in the QLD section.
  22. The website is usually the best place to start but can be unreliable at times... but only rarely. http://www.morganparkraceway.com.au/ I plan to be out this coming week with the police operation drift/track car and to do some testing on my car too before the Oakey Street Sprints next weekend and will probably be out for a play the following week as well before heading down to Oran Park for the SAU day. To organize an SAU type day at Morgan, the best way is to contact Bill Campbell in exactly the way it says on the website. He is very particular about that. I have a friends who are friendly with Campbell's and could be a better way to approach them for a skyline only day. Could be a good opportunity to have a track school day? Just an idea. If you can you get some frimish numbers and dates to me, I'll see what we can do.
  23. Maybe I could come and pit for someone????? How hard can it be to kick tires (and check pressure, temps etc) and offer words of encouragement like hurry the f**k up or the lunch truck will catch you!!!! I'm up for the trip but my car is ready to put her feet up after being abused for the last 3 years and clocking up close to 10,000 km on track. some bits need attention. like a fresh motor..... there is a 30 bottom end in 1 corner, a 26 head over there, pair of gt28rs turbos some place in the shelves. Wonder if they will all work together?
  24. Dont think I'm going to get down there, it's a bit of a hike. I hear this event will be at Morgan Park in QLD next year??? That would be just a little closer to home.
