  1. So it is in... I'm going to have to have a little fiddle with the sway bay. Looks like it needs lowered a smidgen the give a little more clearance for the sump pump. Power steering hoses need relocating a little as will the header tank. It all sits nice and low. Looks like I will be able to run the strut brace still.

  3. Mine is for sale. I'm going to a modified tremec 6 speed.
  4. FOR SALE. RB25 gearbox. This box was built for racing at the beginning of 2014 and has done 1 race meeting at lakeside (lakeside classic) & a sponsor/family ride day, a gentle 80% day. The box was prepared with a gear set from a low km R32 GTR, new bearings and synchros. 3/4 gear selector fork has been modified with a third brass slipper guide at the top to better support the enguagement dog/ring. The brass slippers at the sides also have been renewed. This helps to stop the pressed metal clips that support the ring from getting pinched and falling out. This is a common problem for these gearboxes. The result is a sloppy shift and grinding in 3rd and 4th gear. I have a lot of spare gearbox parts to go with this. There is basically an entire spare gear set. Located in Warwick but can deliver to most of SEQ. $2000.00
  5. That's pretty much the same answer I have come to as well. For the moment any way.
  6. Hmmmm, birthday night... I won't be able to make that.
  7. It looks like it's about time to sit it in and look at running some hoses.
  8. I did some test ones out of 4 mm. I think the went in the scrap bin after proving a point.
  9. I have used the RB30 steel legs and made the feet to suit. I could cut you a set next time I'm cutting some 6 mm sheet. I'd just send the parts so you could mark out bolt holes etc to suit. Then you can just weld them up. If you want a sump pan bolt flange, I could do 1 of them for you too.
  10. I've not seen an actual entry form yet.
  11. I have had this engine since 2001. It started as my daily driver and developed as the car developed as a race car. I gave it a rebuild when I started racing it in 2007 and a freshen up ready for 2014. Since then it has been used for 2 sprint meetings at morgan park, the lakeside classic race meeting and a sponsors ride day. Competing in sport sedans, I'm looking for more power. I could push more boost into it, but I have gone for the 26/30 option. Head has been ported, new guides and seals, sure cam cams (see spec sheet below) springs to match. I get Gilbert cylinder head engineering to do all my head work. The block was washed and crack tested. All bungs & welsh were removed/replaced and flushed properly. Bores were torque plate honed for .5 mm Ross forged race pistions. The rods are new Nissan forged items. The mains and big ends have been much ground to the crank with ACL Race bearings. The fly wheel has been lightend and has been balanced along with all of the rotating assembly. ARP studs for mains, big ends head and fly wheel with NPC 5 puck ceramic clutch. The oil pump in an N1 item. This engine comes less manifolds, computer and loom but complete from balancer to clutch, cam cover to sump pan. The rev limit has always been set at 7500 and the boost at 14 psi. With a 6 boost manifold and a garret 30 71r it makes 320 rwhp on 12 psi and 360 rwhp on 14 psi. It is still in the car at the moment. I'll be removing it for the new motor by the end of the month. Located in Warwick QLD Asking $ 2000
  12. And some more machining is needed to make what looked like it should be a bolt on part work to my satisfaction. It will be function with equal serviceability and aesthetic form.
  13. Order the drive gear for the dry sump pump today. The pan is on too.
  14. I did the first round at lakeside last year and realized that to beTe a competitive, I needed more power. So this thing just he l had get finished.
  15. The setup came off of the 32 in front of my cop car... it was bonkers tough making 560 rwhp. Hope the link works http://vimeo.com/17073469
  16. WHIZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! go marlin.
  17. It is my goal to have the 3L sorted for this. Should happen.
  18. These are the layouts. April 3-5 2015
  19. In April The Z Club of Qld is hosting the nationals at morgan park. It's a Friday to Sunday thing with events from show n shine through to a proper supersprint, timed standing start + 3 or 4 laps. Best session time wins. Entry forms are not out yet but are close in told. I hear conflicting stories it's could be on the 2100 m E layout or on the full 3 km K layout. They both have a good mix of speed and handling. More information here http://www.zcarclubq.org.au/event/nissan-datsun-nationals-2015/ Anyone keen? Duncan?
  20. I've been doing some aero development with John Campbell who has built a few successful 2A category cars over the years. If I ran a flat tray like yours and stopped it where mine has to, there is a large gap in the middle up to the sump pan. The Wheels create a lot of turbulence so isn't a problem there but to take full advantage of the stable air flow, it needs to be longer, like yours. Mine dips up to some factory mounting positions for the original tray. It works very much like a diffuser does creating a vacuum at speed, sucking the front to the ground. Yours relies on smooth clean air flow. It's maintaining an air cushion. It's like when you try and lift a sheet of core flute straight up off the bench. Air has to get in under it. On is own it doesn't create any down force, just helps to maintain the status-quo. The bigger the surface area this more efficient it is. The closer it is to the ground makes a big difference too.
  21. Sport sedans have to have the engine and trans tunnel open to the ground. It's 1 of the defining features between sport sedan and 2A sports.
  22. Interesting read so far. What driveline combo are you using?
  23. I went a slightly different route. Works fantastically. Very nice aero balance with the rear wing.
  24. This is the dumby motor in the engine bay sitting on the new mounts
