Went to Stanthorpe for the Short Circuit Supersprints this weekend. 2nd in class (Improved Production) and 3rd outright. Pretty happy with that, only beaten by an FC RX7 Sportsedan and a 510rwhp commodore Improved Production car. Not bad for number plates.

I have a deep dish OMP wheel which I like because it gets the wheel off my knees. I find that for my best seating position on the peddles, I need to reach for the wheel just a bit and my knees are too close to the wheel. I have been looking at wheels a bit lately and found these on Just Jap. I haven't tried them but the look good for the $$$. I have heard there pretty good but like I said, I haven't seen or tried, yet. http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?p...=283&page=1

It is ours to share...... but it is in my shed!

I really can't complain, there a 235/45/17 which we get cheep for drifting on. bang for buck there a good thing. Playing with intercoolers today, the old 1 had a fair bit of damage on it from the last 7 years of use and lots of abuse. Tested it on the dyno, 310rwhp on 1Bar. Not bad for a streeter.

Took it to the track today on Federal 595 SS. I am going to a sprint meeting in Stanthorpe on the weekend, and with rain forcast I want to know what they are likely to do.... They squirm and load in a really scary way in the corners and under brakes. However the are good for straight line grip and drifting on.

I am going out on Wed to do a good days worth of testing and setup on my new steert R33. I'm taking it to Carnell Raceway next weekend for a sprint meeting and want to have it sorted. Practice at Morgan is $55 1/2 day or $70 full day. A coverd pit bay is $30 I think. You will need a Cams lic, longs and a helmet. A good attitude never goes astray. If you need directions or have any questions just drop me a line. See you there!

Thanks mate, we try and make sure we find the real problem before going silly fixing/improvingthe situation. Dyno man was busy today, but Monday/Tuesday is looking good. I just want to be able to get out for a serious days testing on Wed at Morgan to be ready for the weekends racing in Stanthorpe. Any one comming for a play on wed?

Yeh! sneak it out for a full tank of gas. All of our cars have been out for sneaky drive, just to get it properly hot so the head can get backed off 90 deg and re-tourqued in the morning after it ahs cooled compleatly.

Michael, I'm surprised you don't have a hoist. Will pm about pump/oil setup. I have been tooking at Cammo Hill's setup. Chris, yes it has drop locks and arm locks that disengage when it comes down. It is 240V 10A single phase. we have used the hoist heaps already this week. Skyline, Falcon and ceilca have all had a ride or two. I have been trying to tune the Skyline for the last couple of weeks. First issue was that the 9 pin serial cable had been damaged and need a new 1. that took a while, turns out it is not a normal straight through cable, it's a 232 null modem cable. same as an AIM dash. A new cable in and it was just a matter of gettin on th dyno. There has been a bizarre boost issue, apart from it tailing off it would flutter around 4500 up making tuning hard. We use a live trace to identify exactly where to make changes....... it was all over th place. We data logged a ramp and found the boost pulsating from 14.8 down to the 9's and back again several times a sec. We changed map positions on the plenum a few times, even tried a different EMS ecu! went back to the original spot and it was fine???? So with the flutter mysteriously clearing up, the boost drop was still a serious issue. 14psi dropping to 8.5, why? Boost controller? By elliminating it and just running waste gate psi? still dropped 10 to 7.8 psi. Ran a ramp with a reading at the turbo\wastegate, 12psi, climbing slightly to 12.5 psi. Was there a rag left in a pipe? Short answer, no. We did just run a pipe in place of the intercooler, 11.5 psi in the plenum. Now there is a new intercooler in and goes back to the dyno, again, tomorrow.

I got it for under $3500 delivered/installed, $2800 on it own. If anyone wants contact details I can dig them up pretty easy.

hehehehe I know it isn't specific to any build, but, new toy moment! There is a lot of love in the shed.
-
I thought I had all ready posted my shed up here already...... but I thought wrong. I built it myself, from the ground up. I got the concrete's to do the pore and a mate helped to stand the frame.

Got a new toy in the shed on Sunday, $3410 delivered and installed. No more cold sliding about on the floor with jack stands YAY!!!

Yes but there is a huge hole for the to say "no we cant insure you because of your ticket history". I was A1 with no accident history. Bought a new car and went to insure it and was told I had too many tickets, mostly defects, with a willfully create noise and smoke and a speeding a few times thrown in over a 5 year period. That did seem to me a little off. Not trying to justify anyone for doing the wrong thing, just made me realize how accountable we have to be for our actions. Not just us but how some popo need to use some discretion when cautioning motorists.

I have read through this from start to finish, twice, its gold. I find it interesting that s15guy has pointed out 2 "unlucky" situations (Lets face it, easy to get caught rolling down mountian range at 90 not 80) that won't loose your lic on their own in Qld. If these are the 2 "unlucky" moments.....What were the "yep, you got me moments"? I am glad that s15 guy wized up and worked out that this is a public forum, where if you wander in and in your in 1 of your first posts and start shouting "I AM THE GREATEST", that people are going to line you up as a target and tell you to pull ur head in! Like in life, if you do some thing stupid, suck it up and admit it, if not to everyone else, you owe it to your self. I am with you on the fact that Insurance Co. look at infringement history to make a decision on the level of risk you are to having to pay out on you. I had a rough trot as a young driver, no I was a hoon in a Gemini and got targeted because I did hang out in the hoon spots, I did do timed mountain runs in a ridiculous over modified streetcar that was eventually ordered off the road. That was me a long time ago and I never had an accident in that time either. I have had a accident since and had to pay all of it out of my hip pocket, because it took me a long time before I could get Insurance on the nice cars I bought in the years after. That was my own fault. My beef with the insurance people is that they dont look at accident history. My point is that if you drive like fool, cop the consequences, there is only your self to blame.

You can get them at the track, $20/day or $55/year. all you have to do is fill out a form.
-
Yeh, I think so. That is some thing I need to look into down the line.

This is reminds me of what my Granny always would say to a dumb ass cousin of mine. "Empty vessels always make the most noise Christopher"

What is the popo/idiot factor like at Harrys these days. Back some years now it was a nightmare, ppl doing skids etc, it was crazy in a bad way. I will be in bris tonight, thought I'd stop in perhaps.
-

We had our first beginners drift school at Queensland Raceway last weekend. It went pretty well I think. The link is to the course setup at the end of the day that used all the skills learnt. The old Falcon is setup for Targa type events. Unfortunately with such little lock it was tricky to drive. It took a while but he eventually got the hang of a donut. http://www.youtube.com/trackattackau#p/u/0/7ZirR4clni0 The next 1 is booked for Sept 5. All you need to enter is a helmet and longs (pants and sleeves). An AASA lic is also needed. to book a spot, go to the link below: http://www.trackattack.com.au/2010/index.p...&Itemid=219

Yeh, time to step up a notch. I'm planing on using a 3 stage drysump setup. Looking at making it the same as a friend has on his 25/30.

So, the Black street car is going on the dyno on Friday, and will probably be there for the majority of next week. My tuner is a 1 man show and can take a while to get it done. That said he does a dam fine job and I don't mind. The Yellow race car is ready to get started on. It is getting a new motor, box diff and suspension. The motor is well underway, a 26/30. The head has been ported, 1mm oversize valves, up spec springs, short skirt buckets and HKS type 2 cams with old school HKS cam gears. I have 3 blocks and cranks to choose from. All 3 blocks will be getting basic preparation, acid bath, bore, hone, deck and bore squirter seats n holes machined. I will be Grout filling the block to the welsh plugs to help control the warp that is common with these things. They tend to split down the welsh plug line under load, about the 650-700bhp mark. Guess where I'm aiming for? The crank is a std RB30 item. We are looking at doing some offset grinding. Knife edging, enlarged galleries, grub-screws, match grinding and balancing. I think Spool rods with ACL race series positions and bearings will be next on the shopping list. Stay tuned for pics. Might be a week or so.

I have a shell that is cheep, But where the bloody hell are you?
