  1. I was quite surprised when I called vex and they told me my -7s were a waste, probably because I never bought the turbos from them but oh well. They didn’t wanna take my money so looking for someone else now.
  2. Thanks we have worked hard to finally be able to get into another gtr. I’ve blown the ceramics before at 1 bar. -7s spool awesome And sound great. just need someone to tune it now for safety and a better power curve, any tuners in Calgary or Medicine Hat that know these cars help a bro out? I don’t care about power just want a safe tune and want to use haltec and delete my MAFs.
  3. Hey guys I'm from Brandon MB, I recently bought a 1993 GTR with my wife. originally imported from b-pro yadda yadda yadda. Its our third gtr but this is the first one that we need a tune on. We have replaced everything on the car from -7's, splitfires with new iridiums, complete wiring harness, water pump, rad, thermosostat, all the sensors, mafs, 02's. Runs like a dream no issues. although I want it tuned for safety either with or without the mafs ( go haltec). If anyone has some legit good info on good guy tuners in Calgary please send me there number! I Wanted to take it to vex but didn't get along well with the guys as they told me to put my stock turbos back on because they can make 400 horepower and my -7s were a waste of money. Obviously still a great shop not bashing them just not going that route. thanks boys happy new year. ill get some pics up of her very clean black 1993 gtr. feel blessed.
  4. mine had a whining from the front of the engine(93 gtr). I ended up replacing timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and pulley. whine went away car ran like a dream no noise. make sure if you end up tackling it yourself you read lots on the job. its not that hard but takes time the first go around. and get a proper puller for the crank pulley so you don't damage it.
  5. try changing the coilpack harness and look for broken or melted wires in harness. you can solve a lot of issues with a volt meter and doing a vac leak test by pressuring up the system. mine was a broken clip on my coilpack making a weak connection. problem was inconsistent. I also noticed my car ran way better when I set the tps and cleaned my AAC. do the cheap stuff first.
  6. Also would like to add the car is going to be driven lots in summer by my wife and I so not looking for big power just doing a safe build. I already have -5's so turbos are good to go.
  7. Hey guys, want to start of by saying thanks already for the help on this site. I just bought my third gtr (1993 mainly stock) ive sorted a ton of issues thanks to the boys in Australia already. Currently doing the timing belt, water pump, entire wiring harness, ignition system, etc. Blacking right out on parts haha, sorting out a idol issue(stalls when sitting to long without idol turned up.) Also misfire on boost, and whining from timing case, also replacing entire cooling system thermostat, all old hoses, rad, coolant temp sensor. the rad was plugged pretty bad so gunna do it right and replace everything. cheers boys hopefully running real nice by summer. I have the motor ripped back to bare block right now still sitting in the bay. let me know if you think I should replace headgasket at this time. I have 118,000km on the originially motor and car. Car is very clean it deserves a good hit of parts and time.
