  2. Ok thanks guys that is what i thought and learned from all the comments/videos too. If i want to BoV i need/want to have standalone ECU 🙂 And the bypass valve tge car has is good for stock(little bit more) power.
  3. Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one: And this is the Turbosmart. THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
  4. @GTSBoy Yeah i know. The RB20 has 180Nm torque and the gearbox "should" take up to 400Nm if you are not doing stuff like drag/drift or dumping clutch and of course then it is pure "luck" on how will it last. My problem is (i think i said this in different post) that my car was very badly maintain so i would not be suprised if the oil in the gearbox was not changed until i bought it. Yeah the gearbox seem little bit sad. @Sxnjeet the +T seem very interesting but from where iam from it was nearly "impossible" to done right and not blow twice as money as just swap for the RB25.

EDIT: Just a little info what my tranny is "doing" : For the long time the trans do this "bad" sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs_iTXgDt40 It is literally the same sound and same symptoms(when i push the clutch it quites down) So is it really the shaft bearing? Also: i found this on forums: The RB20 and SR20 boxes are nearly indentical inside (rb20 has longer mainshaft)and suffer badly from bearing and selector failures when driven hard The bearing is true and selector failure kinda too...it is "harder" to get into gears specialy when i drive a little bit hard...
  6. Maaaan so many "little" things i rly hope my old RB20 would be "ok" and not too bad. I try to learn what and what not do i need. I look at crossmember at it looks different...even parts numbers are different. Wiring and all that i rly do not know...yeah someone mentioned the speedo thing. On that yoke clip. I rly do not know what can and cant be done "custom" so that is why iam asking to know and not be suprised 🙂 I know what it looks like

Yeah thanks...i thought it would be alot more i dont know 😄 I saw some videos on converting push/pull and it seems you need to "drill" the hole for slave(master) cylinder and buy some converter kit. On that front yoke clip i did not even know that is a thing and i need to source that(custom shops do not do that?) But anyway thank you for the info
  8. Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice
  9. Oh...ok. I know that the smaller one that came with 20/25 N/A NEO can last many km or can blow like in few meters...so i rather have new/spare one 🙂 But that again even if i want to the + T i do not need "crazy" (200Bhp would be fine for me for the start). Thanks for the FB group. Of course i will not be doing the +T myself(i cant do anything on a car but i just gathering info. I think the most "problematic" thing would be to get all the parts...and of course know what exact parts i need 😄

  11. Hi. a little later but if the topic is here. So...the exhaust is the same and you can use 25/Turbo or any aftermarket? What about intake side? Is it too "plug n play" or? (i do not remember for 100% but i think that one intake to head gasket was little bit different than on the RB25 - i bought gasket kit way back) I know that even if it "plug" those butterfly swirls would cause ECU to be confused or? Just asking for the info 🙂 and of course the RB25 things are easier to come by
  12. Hi. Yeah i think that DIS-008 should be ok too but i rather asked. The R8 coils are "sadly" no go for me cuz every solution is for forward plenum. The coils are too tall and one of the(4/5 DK) would not fit under stock J-pipe. And being this NA RB20 i dont even know where to get some forward plenum.(and of course i would need other stuff like custom AFM/ECU etc) and that is kinda non sense for NA without boost. I just looking for solutions for my case 🙂 I try look into those Yaris/Corolla ones.
  13. Hi. Which coilpacks can i use in my engine? I looked at the Splitfire but the closest "match" i found was SP-DIS-008 but even that they do not show RB20DE NEO so iam not 100% sure. Or maybe different one which will 100% work? I saw many on ebay but they are some cheap "strange" ones. What about Yellow Jackets? Many thanks 🙂
  14. EDIT: just to ask...is it plug n play or do i need some "adapter" or something behind the wheel? EDIT2: i found this...is it the same wheel? It looks like it. Of course it is a GT-R but it seems like and plug n play and using the stock plastic cover?

  18. Hi. Thanks for the info. I have stock ECU so no "easy" 2DIN radio? @Rezz: tak Apexi DIN3 would work with stock ECU/car? As i said i dont even listen to music in this car so this would be nice.
  19. Hi. In these days i finally get to the interior. Bought some new parts to change and now iam at the radio unit. It is some old carrozzeria unit. Is there any unit to fit to the R34 which can show me some info about the car like oil/coolent temperature etc? I just want cuz of this. If it cant i try to find OEM cuz i dont even listen to music :-)
  20. I meant to stay at factory settings Any plus power from my engine would be huge. BUT it is not happening cuz i talk to the guy and the shipping alone would be around 3500-4500 USD ...which is sadly a no no... But at least i asked. So thank you for all the info. Another thing i looked into is/was +T to the that engine but IMO it is harder to get right i would be scared to blow up the engine.
  21. Ok so with new trans i need GTT/trans propshaft. With that RB20DE NEO trans..i know it depends on condition but can i at least drive with it? I do not mean trash it... just to drive it around/to shop/garage. I know some people have same trans on RB25DET and make on it 10k+ km ...but some of them blow it after couple of km Iam talking part/compability wise. Apart from that...is there anything else i maybe looking to get/need?
  22. I ask them...of course how much would be the shipping too :-) I know i can ask them...i just ask here if by the description on their website is everything there for the swap. I know some major parts etc but iam not mechanic...so maybe someone who is far more experienced would see and say...oh yeah you will need this too and this will not work...this type of stuff :-) I just gathering as much info i can get. @GTSBoy: i cannot? It is good to know...i saw on the other forums that they use shafts and gearbox from RB20DE (i think the RB25DE has the same "weak" trans?) LSD i would get here...some folks have this from theirs GTTs... Yeah i already typed few people around here if they have/can get GTT trans :-)
  23. Hi. Thank you for the answer. No i will not do it myself. My mechanic is very capable IMO but problem are parts. I need to order everything from abroad specialy from JAP/AUD/NZ cuz we do not have anything here. The "hard" part is for the parts...is this engine iam looking for has "everything" i need for the swap or are there any parts i would need? I know factory air box is missing but i have HKS air filter and some of the old DE air box would fit in. I know that intercooler is missing too but that is aftermarket stuff and that should be easy to get even in here. As for the money on gearbox...i do but i do not at the same time. I want to have some money on the side cuz i know something will go bad or need to replace. Iam seeing this as project for many month/year+ so no need to rush. As i was saying iam only looking into this cuz this particular engine. I know the 3G Spares have reliable parts. Other engines i saw are mostly (like 99%) AWD engines with "no" history and ton of parts missing.
  24. Hi. After a 4 long/short years i wanna ask. It looks clean and in very good condition How hard would it be to swap instead of RB20DE NEO(factory 5spd manual) I know the gearbox is weak but it should just plug n play for a while no? I have better fuel pump(mine went bad) and brakes are from GTT. Iam just asking around to gather info. Only considering this cuz i know these guys and this engine IMO is completed package for swap. Thanks :)
  25. Hi. Long time. I did not drive this car to much. But problem is still there. There is no code in any program. Any idea what that should be? MAF is new original/clean one. Spark plugs/coil pack is ok. New fuel pump. All filters/oils are changed.
