  1. I will be happy one day when I finish a Datsun 1600 in 80's old skewl track trim.... Oldschool SSR dishies (15x9 & 15x10). Fibreglass panels, flares, cage etc etc.. Mmmm I want money lol With either a off tap L20 stoked to 2.2 with around 11.1 comp.. Or a FJ20 with oldschool turbo kit with aftermarket cast manifold.
  2. Checked the coil packs.. Their all fine. Did the vacuum test on all the obvious lines.. Nothing. There are'nt any cracks on any of the lines, and are all attached properly. -Do I have to swap with someone elses igniter module the only way to test mine? -Should I disconnnect my oxy sensor? Has anyone heard a dodgy oxy sensor show these symptoms? -Has anyone heard of a dodgy afm make an engine run worse from start up?
  3. Firstly get a compression test done. No use mdifying an unhealthy engine... Then do a full service. Then buy a DR Drift boost controller for $35...
  4. Stagea with R34 front end conversion?
  5. Nah Tommo will be at least $700
  6. So igniter pack/Coil pack are the same thing??? The way the engine is behaving I really doubt it to be one or multiple coil packs.. After 15 mins it's spluttering and almost at the point of stall.. Like the timing is way out. I will test them though. THE SYMTOMS CONSISTANTLY GET WORSE FROM START UP... Just in case anyone missed it And there's a suss exhaust/firecracker smell just before it starts to get bad (between 5-10 mins) Cheers, Jarryd
  7. He would get more than that for the engine you jackass... 7K is a bloody good price.. Might be the outladish paint that is putting people off. Clean car tho dude. The right buyer will turn up.
  8. Sounds more likely to be the igniter pack due to the problem being very consistant... And after 15 mins of the engine running it's at the point where there's no way 1 or even 2 faulty coilpacks could be the culprit. Where is the igniter pack?
  9. Ian I have'nt tested my vacuum lines... Problems started before I touched anything. I will test them using your method to be safe. What is the best way to test Coil packs? Do RB20's have a seperate igniter pack? If so where is it located? Cheers for the idea's people.
  10. How to do this? I just serviced my coil packs and they were in very good condition
  11. Sounds like mine... will be watching this thread. Should keep each other up to date if either fixes the problem Mine after 10-15 mins is shuddering a bit and sounds like the timing is waaaay out... Sound familier? Oh and I've just serviced my coil packs and the're all in ecell nic.. Have'nt tested them though. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=107286
  12. I think it was Kudos or option1 that had kits for $500 that included an American made cooler...
  13. Your car will sound silly with a loud ass screamer and stock exhaust... Spend your money on a decent 3 inch system and highflow cat.. In that time you can decide wether a screamer is best for your application.. If you have'nt got a pod. Get one. Increrases induction noise
  14. One of the very few 33's I wouldn't mind owning.. Looks clean too. Look after it!
  15. Where is the ecu? Thought I may have fixed it with loosening a zip tie holding one of the return lines to the charcoal canister... Also replaced the fuel filter.. Took it for a run.. Exactly the same.. and just before it starts getting bad there is a bad sorta hot smell. Like in between exhaust and firecrackers ... Forgot to mention that The exhaust isn't in the best of shape. Like big holes and dodgy patch up job... When I got her back and turned her off I went searching in the boot for the ecu and the boot was pretty damn hot. (no sound deadening etc) The exhaust was definatly hotter than it should be. And made the hot crinkling sound as well. Looks like I'll be off to waste some money at a mechanic soon cause this is pissing me off.. What about dodgy oxy sensor?
  16. Kudos Motorsports have bought in a modded 32 4 door built by "Garage Testarossa" I thinks the name. RB20 head on RB30 bottom end.. Should be interesting
  17. Cheers CC.. -No black smoke -Will check ecu tomorrow What gets me is it getting worse from start up.. That makes me lean towards vacuum lines.. But I've checked all the lines and electrical plugs. checked the spark plugs.. The're very good. And yes i was punting hard What sort of troubles am I looking at if The fuel is bad? Maybe HG if its getting worse from start up? Like water evetually heating and building up enough pressure to make it's way into a chamber? fcuks me.. Gonna go cheack all the lines again now.. It's really annoying.. Like it was loosing traction easily kicking it back to 2nd.... Now a commodore would prob have the goods on me James- Bog stock. I took the aicon out cause it hadn't been re-gassed.. for weight reduction. Doing a service now. But problem came from nowhere. I only put premium in since I've had it. Have'nt been through a tank of fuel since I've owned it Don't really want to drive it like this and possibly do some damage.
  18. Haha. Don't listen to the rexi owner. He's just in denile ... Well thats quoted from HPI... Might be an idea to get a comp test done, or a dyno run to check it's health before you add the other parts.. The dump and boost rise will probably do more than you guessed
  19. Umm are you ladies aware a R32 GTS-T manual in good mechanical condition does the 1/4 in around 14.6 15 flat auto Your talking pretty easy 13's
  20. Should be able to dip into the 13's if it is manual and the driver is capable.. And you have sticky tyres
  21. still confused
  22. $70 is remarkebly cheap! All you need is to find a cheap metal fab place and get them to chop the inlet off and weld it on the other side... Then knock yourself up some mounts. Might get away with stocko one if ur tricky... There are many god reasons for this to make sense over a cheaper and bigger kit. I.e less lag for stock turbo on 12 pound.. Lighter, Better quality, stealth, nad not too mention cheaper when fitted for like $120! makes a ARC sidemount look pretty stupid for $350 Oh and if you didn't know Johnny these flow 35% better than stock R33 coolers..
  23.
  24. f**k me Ghost rider he isn't on trial here.. He was just posting up something (To the best of his knowledge at the time) that he thought may have been of interest to this forum.. I think the reason you have your panties in a knot is because the reality is that this probably is 'the car' that you have lorded all these years you now find in a not so pristine or original state
