  1. Interesting. Does the Micra's manual mention anything about e10? I wonder if Nissan are meeting their legal responsibilities. Remember they will often turn down warrantee requests that they are legally obligated to provide, hoping you are ignorant of the law and accept their decision. You could even make that case that if during the purchase process you were not specifically informed that the car cannot run on e10 then you were sold the vehicle under false pretences, as it would be a perfectly reasonable expectation that the car can run on e10. The consumer law is strong, so its worth investigating. I've been mostly using the United 95 octane e10 in the Stagea for about 20,000kms....
  2. I guess PranK is probably aware of all these ideas, but might be worth a quick scan from "Techniques to defeat annoying people in your community" down. https://medium.com/@harper/crowdsourcing-isnt-broken-5681da92b109
  3. I reckon ?W-40 is the best choice. AFAIK the only two valid reasons to go thicker are; 1. To bring oil pressure up to spec in a worn motor 2. To hack around running your oil too hot. Instead of #2, get an oil cooler that will keep your oil below 120 Deg, and use a full synth 40.
  4. What's the rating on the clutch? If its just a regular organic single then i think they're usually rated to more like 250kw, but organics are ok with a bit of riding unlike other clutch types. No slip at WOT means its not worn out, and its handling the power.... Doesn't sound like a hydraulic problem. Weird.
  5. Some jetlagged idiot (me) thought he could reverse back and braille touch the kerb with the rear wheels in a narrow street - didn't see the slim tree back there and crunched a rear taillight...
  6. Limiting factor will be the ceramic turbines on the turbos. Most recommend about 15 psi, but they can blow up at stock boost with age, so its a crap shoot. Tune on ECU has to match injectors and MAF. If either of those have changed it will need a retune.
  7. Interesting - if i look at this video on how to fix coilpacks, it shows just the spring with no contact at 6:05->6:30, and the spring end is identical to the ones i got from Nissan. So it looks like my coilpacks are non standard. Not sure if i should just pull out the existing spring/contact and replace it with the new springs.... Its a great video BTW
  8. The springs don't come with a new contact Also, looks like a shitfight to get the springs onto the contacts....
  9. Nice to have the part number - i just ordered 10 (they come in a 10 pack) from Nissan and should get them Friday morning. Skidz if you get stuck i'll sell you a few for my buy price (it was $40 something for the 10, so less than $5 each).
  10. Agreed. I like Mobil M1. For the high idle, I had a very high idle both cold and hot when i first got the car, and performing the idle learning procedure fixed it but I dont know if it will help in your case. It was difficult to get it to trigger.... You might need to create an account for this link; http://m35stagea.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=206&sid=6e695677a13eeadf8a8c47b2f2c9d542 The scanner probably wont work. They call OBDII a standard but that seems to be a very generous interpretation of the word "standard". You'll probably need a Consult 3 or 4 to read it.
  11. IIRC the 3.5s have more bottom end and more top end, and the 2.5 turbos have more midrange. Might be worth driving both to see which you prefer.
  12. Sorry, no idea. On one hand I cant see why Nissan would not use the same parts, but on the other hand RHD usually show all the models that are compatible, so if HCR32 is not there, you'd want to get confirmation from FAST before ordering. Or just contact them; Email sig for RHD has email address. 13. Old 26 injectors often leak through the body. I had this and did pretty much what GTSBoy suggested - Nistune + some new 550 Seimens injectors. Wrote a DIY on it - link is in my sig.
  14. Yeah go 10.5in all round on a GTR - otherwise you just make an understeery car more understeery, and you're potentially giving yourself attessa problems (unless you get the tyre circumference right). I have 10.5 +25s all round. With 265s there's a little scraping at the back. Remember tyre size is usually where you get the problems, not rim size. You might get away with +15 but you'd have to roll the rears. I'd be pretty sure most people would prefer at least +20. Also check back a few pages in the thread (or search), pretty sure that 10.5/+15 setup has been mentioned before.
  15. The 52mm wide Nismo bushes are made for the Nismo radius rods. Almost certain they wont fit in stock rods. Maybe Nismo make a bush for the stock rods too? OP measure the width of the metal sleeve, if its <52mm you should be ok. Edit: Doh 2WD is different.
  16. Thanks everyone. FWIW I outsource my understanding of contentious science (like climate change and nutrition) and just go with what Dr Karl is saying, because I like the way his brain works. For weight loss, the only thing that's strongly supported by science is eating less calories (assuming excise is constant). Stuff like timing of meals and type of food is less well supported. Since skipping lunch is easy for me to achieve, I think its more useful to me than trying to do the lots of small meals thing, which is less strongly supported by the science and, for me, in unlikely to be something i'll stick to. So the effort/payoff doesn't make sense for me. Has anyone heard about the "dont eat for an hour after workout if you want to loose weight" idea? I'm concerned that doing that would compromise recovery. Edit: Interesting that eating every two hours didnt work for you Ravi - I think ill continue to discount that unless there's some strong science to support it. I have a feeling that the slowing metabolism from fasting thing is also way overstated. 5/2 diet is working for a number of people i know, and you would think it could trigger slowing metabolism, if that's really a thing.
  17. Did you have a 10W-40 in there before or something heavier? Generally lighter oils should make a tiny bit more power and be a tiny bit more fuel efficient.
  18. Do you mean Liqui-Moly 10W-40? Its German and well respected. Don't judge an oil by its colour. You can't draw any conclusions from colour. For example. oil that looks black after use may just be doing a good job of cleaning the motor's insides.
  19. I do 45-60mins of weights then a little cardio. No specific goals other than too keep loosing weight, but bulk/strength is always good. I've stopped eating lunch and that is working well to loose the weight, and i'm not finding it very difficult. I'm only a bit overweight but have some medical conditions that mean i need to be more careful with weight than most people.

  21. Hi All, can someone give me a guide to what i should eat (or not) before and after exercise? Is there some trade off between weight loss/work out intensity/recovery? Eg if i eat simple carbs before would that help with energy level during a workout, but also mean i don't get into a fat burning phase?
  22. Yes the new gas can be used in the old system, though its typically less effective. The axillary fan on always with AC on is a good mod. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/153378-r32-have-your-overheat-fan-turn-on-with-your-ac/ Concur with sleptema - seals first and see if it leaks.
  23. ^ yes. That mod worked well for me.
  24. FYI, 32 GTR running 350mm front 340mm rear heights. Trial fit of 265/35s on 18x10.5 +25 has gone well, no apparent scraping on road test. Rear guards were rolled a few years back for different rims (255s on 17x9 +20)
