Installed New Coil Packs Now Car Hesitates
DaGr81 replied to DaGr81's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I double checked all the clips it could be a dead coil pack anyhow when I spoke to Paul he made me go through and check each coil pack and from the looks of it they were fine. As people have said could be me needing series 1 coil packs because life started as N/A -

Installed New Coil Packs Now Car Hesitates

Ontop of the valley cover there's no igniter module (rectangular box) there is a connector plug on there though which is hooked up to wires I dunno what for and screwed into the valley cover using a piece of metal which is stopping it from moving around. The holes line up 98% just slightly out enough so 3 of them can't be screwed properly while 3 can be (I assumed because of china) - they are yellow jackets (paul I believe his name is) has been great and has really gone out of his way to help me on this and I do believe they are a great product from all results I've seen. Anyhow it is a 1996 series 2 so all I did was follow what was on their website.... Will try series 1 coils after I send these 2 sets of series 2 ones back and will also take pic for you guys of the rear of valley cover tomorrow -
Installed New Coil Packs Now Car Hesitates
DaGr81 replied to DaGr81's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I see, ordered series 2 coil packs though and that's what it said on the box looks exactly the same - unless my car had a different engine put in in japan... Hmmm well I've got another set delivered already so I'll try that if not I guess I'll be trying series 1 coil packs -
As topic states took the time to change my coil packs today (car is r33 s2 rb25de with turbo conversion etc etc) first off I took out old coil packs and inspected them - they have no cracks or marks on them and were in great condition - I know my plugs are gapped to something but that shouldn't be a problem for the time being. Anyway new coil packs didn't line up with the holes to screw them in the top 2 holes line up but the bottom one never did, so I screwed them in using the top 2 holes nice and tight. Plugged everything up and put everything back together and started her up. It started first go only the car was shaking like a b!tch (gear stick shaking quite alot and like being inside a vibrator lol) so I thought I'll give it a run around the block to see what's going on. Around the block I go and she hesitated to get on boost and wasn't running well at home - pissed me off changing these things in rb25s is back breaking work. Anyhow un did everything and put the Nissan coils back in, everything returns to normal - no hesitation no shaking. Any mechanical gurus here care to help identify what the problem may be?

I'm surprised these wheels aren't on every car on oxford st

Apparently people were saying that almost all after market cam gears have weak teeth and crack easy. So I guess that would be a con. Also why spend 300 to buy them about 100 to install to get 3/4kw - 400 bux = new coil packs which you'll most likely need sooner rather than later

R34 Bad Steering Wheel Shake
DaGr81 replied to AYW550's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Had a similar problem it was my tie rod end bought new rose jointed ones for 150 or so from just jap 80 to fit them up at pedders look at em you can tell if it's damaged or stuffed. Or Jack the car up and see if you can rock the wheel back and forward -
50 on Rubens to choke. Ta.

IF he got the drive thru for it tho, if not cos racing for Ferrari etc (threatens to leave sport and all that) then he would have won the championship. Anyway that's all old shit now but I thought I'd bring it up for fun. PLUS Lewis would have choked lol... Alonso 2010 wdc? What do we think (IF Ferrari pull it together)

Well Ive worked all functions out and everything working 100% my gps voice comes from all 4 speakers lol so I can't fade that out, I've tried a few maps but none are as good as the standard one. I will hunt BT late this week for some different maps oh yeah you can also turn the beeps off completely which I've done

Either way Lewis is a choker lol, chokes on the last lap, chokes in the last 2 races of the season...ROFL Had Renault not cheated massa would be champ. You all know that... /end trash talk btw kimi I think should be at brawn, because jenson sux hard... That makes 2 English chokers...

But if she's on her reds it's an automatic suspension and because it's 37 over the limit it may be a longer suspension...

Also to add more info about these, every single function on mine works perfectly at the moment. Mine came with iPod cable USB cable for thumb drive and tv antenna all of which work perfectly. Surprisngly the iPhone Bluetooth works with this thing as well (as all other devices don't - stupid iPhone) and is so good to finally hear who your talking to rather than the exhaust... You can dial through the unit as well so everything is good for the price. I also never have to carry CDs anymore which is a bonus. The only thing now is to setup the audio so I get some decent sound but am yet to figure out how to set front to rear balance and a few small things. But overall I'm very happy with the unit so far!

I believe I have the same maps as yours then as it's July 2009 and ig08 as well the only thing I don't like about it is the speed camera and red light camera warnings which is a very annoying sound also if your over the limit it makes an annoying sound as well until your under, but it seems the speed limits are set at 66 for the 70 zone cameras. So I think I might try a few others and see. Anyone up for a map exchange program? I have the following:- road angel (2008 though, camera warnings are great and is quite decent looking) tomtom 2009 (friend passed on to me, yet to try)
