The stock SMIC is a fairly efficient piece of equipment. Unless you plan to up your boost in the near future, spend your money elsewhere. Other than that, you can install one for cosmetic effect and if you end up increasing your boost later on, it's there.

When I had mine done it had to be securely fixed. Others I have seen have stated that they had to be meshed.

This cockhead was not doing his job. He was being an overbearing egotistical tosser who said: "We were told by one friendly officer that if it continues to be a problem, everyone on these cruises WILL have their cars seized and towed away regardless of whether they were involved with the hoon behaviour, and all cruises WILL be shut down and banned. These were his exact words, and I was told to let everyone else know." This is not doing your job, this is threatening law-abiding HPV enthusiasts to seize their cars just for being on a cruise. If the idiot had done his job he would have investigated as to who was responsible and not threatened those who were innocently exercising their rights to enjoy a night out with their cars. What this prick did was nothing short of criminal harassment and abuse of his position. He should have been reported to the IAB with the statements of all of those within earshot of his threat. It would be no different if a fight had broken out in a pub between two guys and the cop rocked up and arrested everyone for assault and public disturbance. Sorry man, this fool went way too far and it's people like him who have turned many HPV owners against police.

With all of the money you'd spend converting it to an AWD you could go out and buy a GT-R. Don't waste your time and money.

Any catch can will work. There is a difference between a catch can and an oil/air separator. Clean the intercooler pipes with degreaser and make sure it's fairly dry before replacing it. Carby cleaner works well with smaller items.

R32 Clutch Slave Cylinder
2LV8ETR replied to WrenchesInTheGears's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Put a kit through it. You can get one at most brake parts/spares stores. Also, if the body is stuffed you can replace it with a generic one. I believe that a Nissan Patrol from the same era uses the same master and slave cylinder. -
Yes, they can pick you for having low water in the windscreen washer bottle. If it's too much hassle to fix, leave it and see how you go. The chances of them picking it are pretty slim but just be aware that they may ask to see it working. The nozzle won't be hard to clear. My advice is spend 30 minutes to give it a go and cover all your bases.

I use a Walbro (genuine, not Chinese copy) with no problems. Slotted straight in.

Whats Next? Power/battery/alternator Issue?
2LV8ETR replied to chrissyo's topic in General Maintenance
It could be an electrical item drawing current. I've found a stereo amp to draw power whilst the vehicle is shut, and the issue was the remote relay had stuck on. Use an ammeter at the battery to detect if there is a power draw and if there is, then check all electrical items one at a time with the meter to see which is drawing the current. -
A third brake light is compulsory on vehicles 1989 onwards, no more than 1.8m from the ground.

Installing Coilovers Into R32 Gts-t Coupe.

Get a socket or a ring spanner onto her and put some brute behind it. They are a bit testy but you'll get there. -
The auto ECU will work, but it'll run better with a manual ECU. I used my auto ECU for about 4 months before I located a manual one with no issues. It just ran a bit rich.

Do a search guys, there's heaps of info. Also there's a dedicated RB30 thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/RB...sions-f184.html

I've been pulled over many times. Some for a license check, others just because. Sometimes I've been given the green light and told to be on my way, but on three other occasions I've received nothing short of harassment. I have NEVER been done for speeding or for doing any stupid crap in my Skyline, I have on my bike and 4WD, but never in the 32. The first time I was stickered was because some twat in a V8 was doing burnouts in a industrial area late one afternoon and I happened to come through just as the cop neared the area. I was blamed for it even though I had 4 kids in the car and I was dropping something off to the missus. I was done for my GT wing, windscreen sticker, pod filter, suspension, rims, bodykit, FMIC and BOV. When I went to the pits first thing the next morning, the inspector told me the only thing that was illegal was the GT wing. He gave me a mod permit for everything else, removed the sticker and told me to remove the wing when I got home. I did. The second time was when I was going to the shop and was pulled over for going too fast through a roundabout. I was never given a fine but I was stickered for the BOV. I showed the mod permit to the cop and she said that it shouldn't be on the mod permit because they're illegal. I went to the pits and the inspector pulled the sticker off the car and told me to go on my way after paying the pit fee. The third time I was on my way home and I was pulled over for a license check. I grabbed the mod permit, stepped out of the car, handed it to the cop. He took a quick look at it and stickered me for my rims. I told him that they were the same rims that were on the permit and he told me that they were illegal and had more than likely been swapped over. I told him what I thought of him and what his wife did to a certain part of my anatomy and drove home in a shitful mood. I went back to the pits the next morning and the inspector shook his head and told me that the cop was an officious prick. Needless to say, the sticker was removed, I paid the pit fee and went to work. I'm either a dickhead magnet or I've had bad luck, but either way they won't stop me from enjoying my car.

Try the search function man, I found these easily. Enjoy. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ca...+brake+calipers http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pa...+brake+calipers http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/pa...ers-t19736.html

The main issue is that the AFM is getting an incorrect signal due to the registered intake charge blowing off. You need to use either a hybrid BOV which vents both to the atmo and recirculates (which still isn't a 100% fix) or replace the stock bypass valve and return the charge to the system after the AFM so it doesn't overfuel.
-
The cops will canary you for a dusty indicator globe. Let's face it, they're out of control. As long as you are sweet with your ADR's, the inspector at the other end will tell you that the cop was a dickhead and pass you. You may as well get used to it because it's part of owning a high performance vehicle, you WILL be a target for a wanker in a blue uniform with a chip on his shoulder who got knocked back by his fist trying to toss off. He'll take it out on whoever he wants.
-
If you have an atmo venting BOV with an ECU running an AFM, this will occur. CHECK for an atmo BOV!!!

Help Wiring Gauges To The Dimmer
2LV8ETR replied to DriftSquad's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If we're talking about the car in your avatar, wire it in to the cigarette lighter light. It will not overload the circuit as it is not drawing current, only providing the gauge with a signal to dim the gauge lamp. -
Weird Vibration After Gearbox Change!
2LV8ETR replied to ~Nvied~'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you went from a 20 box to a 25 box, they would have had to change the tailshaft, more importantly the yoke as the 25 box's yoke is larger than the 20. The tailshaft may have been put out of balance when they swapped it over or the balance weight may have been knocked off. It seems strange that you've mentioned the vibration in second gear only then at 100km/h. If the wheel bearing are shot you would notice it throughout speed increase, not just in second and at 100. Dunno man, I would start at the tailshaft. -
Picked Up An Exhaust For My 33 Today

The Sports Titanium is worth about $1,500.00-$2,000.00. The Vertex SUS is worth about $1,000-$1,300. The Vertex Titanium is worth about $2,500-$3,200. These are all new prices and it also depends on where you go to get it. Nice find.
