  1. Sounds like the banjo bolt is faulty/skewed. I would replace the bolt and washers and try again.
  2. Does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes gauges smaller than the common 2" (52mm). I'm after fuel pressure, oil pressure, and voltage.
  3. It may possibly be the speedometer itself. What suburb are you in?
  4. Same mob man, via Japan.
  5. If your tuner tells you to go a specific route, and you trusted him so far with your build, would you turn around to him and tell him to set the Spitfires up because another dude told you to go that way? How would he take that? If he's proficient in tuning M8's, I would take his advice as he works with them and would be talking from experience. I'm not being a dick here, just the devil's advocate so to speak.
  6. Is this what you're after? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=2077210
  7. DIS-005 and DIS-008 are also for RB engines. The series 2 also has inbuilt ignitors in the coilpacks. The AAC is sitting at the back of the inlet manifold, it's a small gold coloured cylinder. I believe that there is a tutorial on how to clean one in the DIY section. Saves me spelling it out step by step.
  8. PaYbAcK bought one of these for his 32, absolute crap quality. The adjustable wing doesn't sit very well and wobbles all over the place. It wobbled that much that it ripped off going down the Tonkin Highway at 100km/h. He's had to spend a fair bit of time modifying it to work properly. Speaking from experience, don't do it.
  9. The first thing I would do is clean the AAC valve. As far as the coilpacks go, did you purchase the DIS-001?
  10. I've got R33 GT-R front and rear seats in an R32 Sedan. There was a small issue of the sides of the top seat being too skinny, but that issue was solved with a small slice of velour down each side. This only occurred due to the sedan having doors. To answer your question, yes, I believe they will as it worked the opposite for me.
  11. Every HCR32 I've installed boost controllers on was 7psi.
  12. The engine is also decompressed so without the turbo, she'll be gutless.
  13. It may possibly be the speed sensor on the gearbox. They work on a pulse system and if it has lost a point, it'll only display half the actual speed. If you know someone with an R33, ask if you can try their sensor in your gearbox, it's only a wire connector and a bolt to remove.
  14. The bastard!!! Just out of curiosity, how far out was your speedo once the mod was done?
  15. The problem I see with it is that if you cut into your bodywork, you'll be inviting Mr Plod to slap a canary on your windscreen as well as justifying the hassles of conforming back to ADR requirements. Secondly, the amount of IC capacity you'll be saving will only equate to a couple of litres of volume, so in essence you won't really be making a major difference with lag/spool time. It's your choice as to whether you do it or not, but I couldn't justify the hassle vs potential gain ratio. You'd be better off buying a forward facing plenum if you really want to save length. Good idea though.

  17. I've read many stories about the factory manifold being a decent item, why change it if it works well?
  18. I had this issue once and it turned out to be the alternator. It only happened when very cold, but only lasted for about 5 minutes before subsiding. It worked fine but just didn't like the cold.
  19. This one time (at band camp) when I was getting a canary off, the inspector told me that the cops don't have any formal mechanical training, and very few have any ADR training. The law provides that they if they have reason to believe that there is an unsafe modification/component on a vehicle it provides grounds for a defect notice. As stated previously, I have a mod permit for everything on my car but they can say what they want and ignore the permit because they have "grounds" to believe that a defect exists. A mate got done for a dusty indicator globe. Yep, no shit. When he got pulled over, we were in the back seat doing the "disco pig" to the flashing lights at night and the cop didn't like it one bit. It was in an immaculately restored EH. I've been done for a BOV when I had an OEM bypass valve, car being too low when its was 120mm high, having a VeilSide decal over the windscreen when it was no less than 10% of the height of the windscreen and outside of the wiper arc, having an aftermarket aluminium radiator, the list goes on. Most of us here know more about ADR's than the cops because we deal with the inspectors on a regular basis because of the inept abilities of the police at performing what is supposed to be part of their job criteria. If they have no idea what they are looking at, they should have an ADR book to provide an answer to the question that they are seeking, not just slap a lickie on someone's windscreen because they have "reasonable grounds". I have used one inspector each time I get labelled and they guy knows my car like the back of his hand. The problem is the cost of the inspection and the time wasted to get something off that clearly shouldn't have been placed on by some dickhead who wouldn't know the difference between a pile of shit and his own mother's hair do. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it as the media hype against hoons has tarnished our existence on public roads. Granted, some peanuts have inflated this issue by causing problems in residential areas, but the majority of us are generally well behaved members of the public who are true car enthusiasts. There have been many police corruption cases evident in the past, but what would the police think if the public initiated a campaign to tar every police officer with the same brush? The police have too many powers at their discretion and that's the real issue here. They need formal training to identify real ADR infractions before handing out legal harassment notices.
  20. As you know I've got one too and was told they're illegal due to water/oil line eruption event compromising the driver's view on the windscreen. Couldn't give a toss either way, I'll still put it back on after a canary. Anyway, doesn't the Evo X have a flat vented bonnet?
  21. What sort of tyres are you running, and at what pressure?
  22. Aren't the police just a wonderful species? What did they do you for apart from the bonnet?
  23. You know what it means when they slap it on an angle, don't you?
  24. AKA: Wank Factor.
