  1. I can't see why not. I haven't done it before, nor have I heard of it being done. The only thing that comes to mind is the difference in viscosity of the fluids, with the oil being thicker. I can't see that being an issue in my opinion, though I could be wrong.
  2. After I got pinged for the screamer I went to a divorced downpipe to the cat and didn't see any difference. That was with a 3" exhaust, with yours having a 3.5" exhaust I'd be surprised if there was a difference. The reason I went with a divorced pipe to the cat was for minimal vortex disruption near the manifold. The disruption happens at the cat which disrupts the flow anyway. Hope my experience helps. Later!
  3. These pads will do this man. They are race spec designed so they can operate at high temperatures and prolonged use. If you were to take your car on a track for a half hour and cane the shit out of the brakes, you'll notice that they won't fade and the squeal will settle down. If the squealing annoys you too much, go back to conventional pads.
  4. This is true - it's a carbon look bonnet.
  5. What he said. But also what gotrice said too. Not everyone has the money. If it was me, I would skim a little off the wages every week so the missus wouldn't know, be patient while the cash built up and then purchase the unit. Then when the bug has bitten you (and it will - it happens to all of us) you will have the PowerFC to do anything you want. Take everyone's advice and make up your own mind, after all, it's your money. Later man.
  6. Could be........ I've seen fibreglass bonnets with a single sheet of carbon fibre on top. Me bud's got one...............
  7. c16 + 150hp shot of NoS
  8. Straight swap man. Got one on my race car.
  9. Die grinder with a light stone or small drum sander. If you don't have a die grinder, a small drill with the drum sander. If you don't have any of the above, break out the emery cloth......
  10. Use a spray bottle with water mixed with a little detergent on the hose joints and in the intercooler. The bubbles will show up immediately.
  11. Yup. I bring them to every cruise. Though not all use them, they are handy for obvious reasons..........
  12. Sounds like someone's very passionate about their RB30. Nobody said they didn't rev, just that they don't rev as high as an RB26. 8,000 rpm is nothing to be sneezed at and with all of that torque backing it up, it's a very good engine. Take for example the world's quickest and fastest Nissan, the HKS 180SX that a few years ago made a 7.27-second 189-mph quarter-mile pass at Sendai Raceway in Japan. The 180SX is powered by an RB26 that produces approximately 1,300 hp at 9,000 rpm and 672 ft./lbs. of torque at 7,000 rpm. I've also seen on some of my DVD's RB26's reaching 10,000 rpm. An RB26 costs a lot of dollars, but compare it to an RB30 with a RB25e head and you've a lot of bang for your buck. The RB26 head is a lot more expensive and would take even more money to mate it up The RB30 would be a better option for your money. If funds were unlimited, I'd have a different opinion..............
  13. Get it chipped
  14. Don't forget the falcoons and baliants!
  15. The water will still touch it man. Either way will work though.
  16. A bloke with a long skinny dick, AKA - a tight fisted wanker.........
  17. Depends on what you want to use it for. RB30=more power and torque, but less revs because of the bigger crank.
  18. I don't wanna rain on your parade but if you go for a run and need to fuel up with ULP, won't the car run like shit because of the different fuel? The e85 sounds good and looks like a winner. It's not like it'll happen everyday but keeping the boot full of jerrys for an extended run is what you'll have to keep in mind. We don't have it over here yet but I'll be keeping an eye out for it.
  19. Keep an eye on eBay dude. Click on the number: 1 2 3
  20. I don't know about others but my dealing with FV weren't too good. They had my car for 5 weeks to do a job that should have taken no more than 2. There was a car show coming up and they left my car sitting while they worked on a vehicle that they had in the show. Not in my opinion cool. The timing was off but the point of the matter is they shouldn't have left me without transport as the car was at the time my only daily driver. As long as you talk to Bruce and make sure that there's nothing that will hinder the progress of your car you should be good. They do good work at the end of the day.
  21. I don't want to state the obvious, but are you running an aftermarket ECU? The stock ECU will cut the boost at 14psi.
  22. I'm not saying it can't be done - it just costs more. A competent metal fabricator could create what you want and weld it up but like I said - $$$$$$$$$$$
  23. If I were you man I'd drop the box and do a rebuild. If you're having problems with the syncros or gears you may as kill two birds with one stone. If you have the ability - do it yourself, otherwise it'll cost you a pretty penny. Going with a secondhand gearbox you don't know what you're getting.
