i think they are 5 x 114.3 but i suppose are they anybigger than the rb20det brakes that came on the ceffy which had a bn38 mc........ i think the maximas were 3 litre v6 right vg30 and probably vg20s ..... could be a much cheaper upgrade but considering it is car for aussi land its probably got really weak arse brakes designed for a barina or something
-
there are already heaps of threads on this (in the ceffy section)................so u could search ....... my work s1's are 8" at front + 30 and 9" at rear + 35 and they are close to scrubbing but dont just ...only cause i dont lower it too much ....the guards might need rolling a little it i went super low. They fill out the guards well and make it look fat and about the offset .....the smaller the number the further it will stick out ...well ........thats sorta right but not the best explanation read here : http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=101

cant u both share the name ?lol ......ur in different states anyway -
4 little bolts sound like the screws for the camber adjustment. .... the 3 other nuts sound like the locking plates? ............if so then the two top ones are used to raise the height of the car ......the bottom one sounds like the locking nut for the base adjustment for the heght (which doesnt affect the spring )......u should be able to undo this and wind it down .......... upload a pic of them ........will be much easier to explain ! heheheh
-
yea getting the height right can be a little bit of a pain ....just make sure u measure everything .....so both sides end up the same height. Also are the hardness might be caused by the springs being too hard......mine were (well too hard for me) so i have swapped 6k rears into front and im getting some new 4k ones for the rear. Not sure about the front shock adjustment why it doesnt stop. unless its broken. ( are they second hand?) Also are urs base adjustable? as well as under spring adjustable?

thats very nice footage!!! ......ur car looks awesome too! -
Coilovers are easy peasy.........just remove the whole existing coilover from the car and replace with the after market unit u have. (funny how it is so much easy to say that! eheheheheh) ......it is very straight forward ....it just some bolts can be a bastard to get off. If you need any help just let me know ....im just a few stations north of chatswood.

i think the stock turbo models were the only ones with the sr20det brakes. the rest were scaled down to match the slowness of the motor for each model

lowering without additional adjustment will create neg offset on rear ....i think mine has just over neg 2 degrees ......i have 17inch ... 8 inch +30 work meister s1's on the front and 9 inch + 35 on the rear. stacks of room around the brakes for future upgrades. They only scrape on the plastic crap on the inside of the gaurd at the front. +30 is max really for stock gaurds on the front. mine stick out about 4 to 5 mm .....

not sure about riverside's car but the next question has been covered before a few times .......doing a search in this section should find something

yea if its got the snorkel i will interested -
yep same thing happens with cefiros ! .......pretty much all of them have lost there left air vent. My interior is also in mint conditon except for the dash which has a bubble in it and missing the vent ! ......I think Nissan japan must have spent less on the dash area of there cars ...as aust jap cars i have seen never seem to have this problem.

they are the jic flt -a2 coilovers damper adjustable, camber tops on the fronts and height adjustable at base of spring and base of strut. They are on the softest setting which isnt the way u should go when softening them anyway (fromt what i have read on these forums) They may be for an s13 but thats thats on a race track and not on crappy aust roads. Also rememeber thats stocks are like 3k and normal after marker springs are like 4k .....whcih make the ones i got f'ing hard. They would be very nice on a race track but really my car is going to fall apart from driving around on these things . U Should see the headlights on the road - they are jumping up and down the whole time ....it must be a pain to be infront of me. Every body that has been in my car has said they are too hard But as like u i went with these because everyone said they would be great for daily driving. Well if i were u try and get a drive in someones car with them first and then make ur mind up. Just to note: ...i also have adjustable swaybars, strut braces and low profiles tyres which all add to stiffening the car and make noiser. If i didnt have these other items the coilovers probably would be a titch softer.
-
i just got JIC coilovers 8k front and 6 k rear .....for daily and some track use....... but i dont think they are soft enought for daily driving in my mind ......in most cases they are ok but if u get a bad road they can really annoy the crap out of u - e.g take the f3 freeway (heads north out of sydney) for example ..... u wouldnt beleive how un smooth that road is!!! Mine are fully adjustable .....i have been thinking whether i could get the spring replace to say 7k - 5k or 6k - 4k .......
-
yea mine are height adjustable under the spring and at the of the strut. When adjusting the plates under the spring does that compress the spring more? making it a harder ride ? or does the damper also increase?.
-
yea for stock guards i would go +38 ...but if u have lipped and flared them then +17 or +27 prob would be better.
-
the rear is running 235/45's (federals which are wider tyres than others) and the front i have 215/45's (feds's aswell) the federals on the front look more like 225's of other tyre types. this for a cefiro .......which should very similar to the laurel if not the same
